This plugin is fantastic. I've been using it for years. The only improvement I think it could use is a simpler configuration process, as it currently relatively requires a looot of time to set up. Also the language support is lacking. Congratulations!

Amazing plugin, but for some reason this list on the right side full of quests keeps popping up and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Works great on 1.21. Minor issues in the past that are sometimes resolved in as little as an hour.

This plugin works very easily. I liked it very much. You may not get used to it at first, but after using it constantly, it becomes very comfortable to use.

The reason I gave it 4 stars is that it is not fully customizable. Some messages are sent built-in and there is no option to customize these messages. I hope to come across a "100% customizable messages" option in the future.

Apart from this, the plugin owner is doing his best to improve the plugin. I thank him very much for this.

I've been a devote user of this plugin for around 8-9 years. Its simplicity in quest creation and the convenience of the "Quests GUI" add-on have always been appriciated.

Regrettably, it's time to part ways. The plugin falls short in terms of customizability, particularly with language files and chat layout. This poses a significant challenge for servers that want a more "professional" aesthetic. While some language edits are possible, the chat remains cluttered with visually unappealing and repetitive information when Quests are accepted or completed.

I did reach out to commission some form of edit for this, especially since similar concerns were echoed in the reviews. Unfortunately, I learned that rectifying the issue would entail a complete recoding of the plugin.

Nevertheless, I commend the developers for maintaining this plugin over the years, and it undoubtedly remains a valuable resource for any server owner just starting out. :)

when I start the server, all the plugins are launched but this plugin is not...

My quests were not working so i asked in there discord i waited for awhile for a response however the server was dead so i pinged a staff for help bc i have a deadline to get my server up. Instead of helping they said nothing and muted me for 7 days.

It does its purpose without ever disappointing! i've used this plugin on 3 servers over 2 years and never had a single issue!

Very useful, easy to edit, even though have small bugs sometimes, like the amout of reward doesn't match the designed/ordered amount..

I don't know why the commentators below write that "support aren't helpful" is a complete lie. I wrote a ticket on the github and they helped me right away and fixed one bug in the new version, namely: when leaving the server, the quest was reset. now it's been fixed. thanks a lot to the author

I can't recommend this plugin i would recommend it but has major issues one of the reasons the support aren't helpful and also the plugin have alot of issues also it's editor is kinda bad and i won't recommend it if you are going to use it on a long term i would rate it more if the devs improved there support

This plugin is incredible, you can create every kind of quest you want, and the compatibility with other plugins such as Citizens or MythicMobs makes it the best plugin for doing this kind of stuff

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Quests plugin based on my experience. While it has some promising features, it falls short in several key areas.

Firstly, there is a significant lack of customization options for the language file, even though I don't feel inconvenienced their non-traditional approach to colour and formatting codes, changing certain options inside of the lang file changes the tabcompletion of them too, effectively breaking commands that use those entries in the lang file.

Support in Quests' Discord is quite lacking, unhelpful replies are common, and most of them seem disinterested in actually helping with your issue.

Overall, while the Quests plugin has it's strong feats, after using it for a while, I wish I hadn't. Transferring the quests we have made to a different quest plugin will take a very long time, time we don't have as we've scheduled the release of our server for a week from now.

This plugin is definitely the best in its field. Having QuestsGUI and QuestsBar to go along with it pushes it even further ahead of its competition :)

This plugin is great. Yes, there are some plugin-specific incompatibilities. That is not the plugin's fault, it works flawlessly if configured correctly. Yes, the documentation is somewhat lacking, but if you care enough to sit down and actually learn the plugin, you will quickly realize how much potential there is.

Overall an incredibly versatile plugin. Great integration with Citizens, which truly enhances the functionalities of the plugin. Have been using it for years now and I can say it's one of my favourites!

Good but not that good. I retrieve one star just for the documentation. It explain nothing except one example. It doesn't explain all the possibility and the complexity of all the system.

I'm sure it is a great plugin but please ! add some information to your documentation. We don't have to come and ask how to do basic thing on discord.

Really love the ability to have quests on the server. Had a bit of trouble starting out, but the staff is responsive when asking questions. Now that I have it running, I love all of the features and would highly recommend the GUI feature. Makes it faster to get things going. Only reason this isn't 5 stars is due to the tone of getting questions answered on discord. Responses were often short without a lot of explanation and felt as though I was being talked down to instead of with.

For a week I tried to ask them a basic question (how to create a new mission). It's already strange that you have to ask this. They fucked up to answer. None of the missions work, I can't create a new mission, I can't save.

Still really good. It's fallen a bit short through time, but the developer is trying and hanging in there. Most recommended for smaller/simpler servers :D

The SQL implementation should be good enough now to use.

One important thing, There are still unknown bug which causing player data to get loss, to ensure player data safe, i am trying to use luckperms permission to store quests player data instead.


One thing i don't get it is the comment below, Quests is completely free plugin , there is no trail mode, Quests is a complete plugin, the guy below probability is using other plugin, iirc, there are at least 2 plugin call quests.

This quest plugin by far the most compact feature ever seen. There a gui meny addon,but it a premium .It you want a GUI menu for free,can just create with DeluxeMenu.

It's okay, but no GUI menu or anything. If you want a detailed server then it's not for you...

It's a very basic plugin, it has a couple of nice features but the code is messy and I think there are better quest plugin options available.

If you want to just set your player's simple challenges then it works fine.

6 Years since PikaMug decided to continue Quests with 2.0. I remember as i started in that time my Minecraftserver. This plugin expanded a lot and new feature are added and a lot of improves and fixes was made.

Now we have Quests 4.0, Expansion like, dynmap, GUI and GPS and some modules was created.
I would say, it's one of the best opensource plugin on spigot today. If anyone thinking so donate an opensource plugin, then i can say: With Quests it's the best choice. Why? PikaMug works since 6 Years on it and made maaaaany updates!

IMO the only thing what could make the plugin better, is a dialogue/Conversationsystem (Maybe with the Plugin Interactions from Ajneb97 or a Premium Expansion (i would pay for it OwO))

yesterday i gave this plugin a 1 star review because (for me) it was very hard to figure it out how to translate this plugin from english to german.

you have to open the Quests.jar file with WinRar and extract the "lang" folder into the Quests Plugin folder!

Very responsive dev who go above and beyond with support. Quests is a major feature of our server & whilst it takes a lot of work to create quests as we don't use the gui addon, this really is a great plugin.

Great when it works. The most frustrating plugin ever when it doesn't. There's been numerous occasions now where my quest simply doesn't save, after spending an hour writing hundreds of lines of dialog and doing all the conditions & actions that go along with it. I open the editor again to find I've lost 40 quest stages, even though it told me it saved. Great. And whenever I get the motivation to do all that again, it's never as good the second time.
I want to recommend this because it has a ton of features and is easy to use, but unfortunately the bugs cancel all that out for me.

That is a one-time spike from a new player joining your server, which is common with many plugins. If you would prefer to minimize this, just set generate-files-on-join: false in your config.yml file.

I'm enjoying the plugin so far and the simplicity of setting up quests, but how do I set up random daily quest? So the user gets a random one out of a selection from each NPC every 24 hours?

I like this plugin, it's very configurable. I would like to have Placeholder like %active_quests% %finished_quests%, etc! Recommended!

Love this plugin. Lots of options and easy to add custom content. My only recommendation is that you could sort quest into categories and have NPC's display the quest in their respective categories. I have used the quests API to make something like this but it would be cool if that was part of the main plugin.

Simple to set up and high functionality. It may be the best task plugin you can find.

This plugin does all it promises and more, support is fast, outstanding and when you use the GUI plugin, this is absolutely the best quests plugin I have ever used.

One of the best plugins I ever saw. Support doesn't take more than like 16 hours. It works on a lot of versions and it is very configurable. Supports about 20 languages and has a lot of features. :D

I have a quests were people first get some information by r clicking on the NPC and then they have to go to 10+ locations, if i do this when i am opped then everything works fine so when i go to one location it tells me to go to the next one but if i deop myself and try the quest then the first "information" part works, then it tells me to go to the first location but when I am at the location nothing happens. please help

Some artwork every so often would be great as well, for 3.8.1 it gave me a pretty good first guess of what the update had to offer. Which made understanding the update as well as the potential the updates brings with it a lot easier.

I highly recommend this plugin for everyone, and depending on your player base you can easily adjust the amount of quests available, as well as difficulty and whether they should be repeatable or not etc.

Great plugin. Been running it for over half a year. Warheight is kinda like a grumpy old man. but he knows his stuff, and is able to handle any questions with the plugin. Overall 9/10 strongly recommenced as a quests plugin.

Great plugin, lots of depth to how you can create and edit quests. Everything is done in-game and you can create some really great stuff with this plugin.

There is currently an incompatability with LuckPerms 4.4.1 and Quests 3.8.0 but the author is working hard to get this fixed.

I reccomend this plugin to anyone looking to add some cool flair to their server, or to anyone wanting to make a deep and detailed quest storyline.

Great addition to the game. The ingame quest-editor is the nuts (Gui would be better but i will give you 5 stars anyway).

You can perform super deep quests using citizens2 and Sentinel. The possibility to reward unique items is a nice feature!

Quests is always fun to use!

I just had a few missing quest rewards bugs in the past. Overall the plugin is very stable and reliable.

Just one thing is missing in my eyes and that is that you have the possibility to choose between two different storylines with different endings and rewards.

Very good plugin, and works with 1.14.4. However, is there a way to test if a player obtains or finds an item (instead of crafting it)

Wish there was a way to do group quests where a group of people could donate items towards a lump sum. Other than that its pretty good.

Love this plugin! Would be nice to see randomized daily, weekly, and monthly quest options added in the future without having to just set a cool down timer.

This quest plugin is really good. One question though, do deliver items quests work? For me they are broken. Other ones like kill mobs and npcs and reach locations etc all work really well and are easy to use, but the deliver items being broken is the one blemish here.

Yeah it's good an everything but /reload broke all quests and resets their states. So they can even do dailys again at the same day. Would you mind to fix it? Will give the 5th Star after fix.

When I try to give a requirement of '' when mission 4 is done you release mission 5 '' it is giving error with color commands in formatting & and § and I do not know how to do. Loads of options for users, the developer obv invested plenty of time into this. Sadly, it can be extremely tedious to use, and is not very user friendly. There's a small string of bugs, some of which are quite problematic though. Try it out, see if it works for you. It's popularity shows that it does for most users.

Hard to create quests, But there is a wiki for this plugin to understand, which makes this plugin the best.
Don't buy plugin like Proquest which cost a lot and does not even provide any simple wiki to help you understand plugin.

4 stars because I feel the Ingame editor Should of made use of the Interactive chat ( clickable text ) for all of its settings rather than typing numbers for all the menus. its slow and repetitive and could be much faster if you just let me use my mouse to click.

Its also a touch annoying that you need to make all your events ahead of time or stop editing the quest to go make them then come back. its a bit disjointed.

It have a important bug, don´t download this version if it isn´t solved.
The players when joins, complete the quests all the times...
They do logout and login, and when they access to the server, they do login and get the rewards of a quest all the times.

This plugin is cool as heck, BUT There is something that's bothering me, Whenever I force someone to start a quest It says my Username, and even using Denizen to execute as_op, is there any way to cancel this?

I've used this plugin ever since it's 2.0.4 stage and it's been an absolutely phenomenal plugin. It seems every time I check the page, there's another incredible feature added to it. It works very well, has an very user friendly quest editing system, and is VERY versatile. With a little bias, I also like it because it works with Mythic Mobs. Highly recommend for any kind of MMO-RPG style servers.

appendix .. to version 1.13 plugin worked smoothly .. it was able to create, receive, edit quests all worked but now on version 1.13.1 nothing .. :/

I use it together with Citizens and it is the perfect combination for your RPG experience! I am using the latest dev build 3.3.7 on a 1.13.1 spigot server. I had to disable npc effects in config to get rid of console errors.

I'm using current dev version of this plugin on my 1.13 server, and I absolutely love it, the only thing I noticed, that kinda annoys me, is the fact that I cannot deliver multiple items in one stage, whenever I try to do that, it won't let me select 'Done', it does nothing until I put only one item in there.
However the advantages far outweigh any disadvantages, this plugin allows quests, an important part of RPG games, to be added and customized ingame. If that doesn't impress you, I don't know what does.

I realy need to pick my hat out for this plugin, i was looking for a plugin exacly what do what this one do, the rest dont get closer this one, need some adjustment on update to rise up de limit of itens on quests, but is easy to do, nice plugin at all, thanks

Functional plugin however very very very limited.

You can only do basic quests with this plugin, once you want to do some more pushing quests, the plugin does not have the option.

Example:

Want to do a quest to eat 10 apple cheat, not possible (or any food)

Want to do a quest run 50,000 blocks, not possible

Want to do a quest, use 5 creeper eggs, not possible

Want to do a quest, craft 5 diamond sword, not possible

in short, if you want basic quests, perfect plugin, but otherwise go your way, it is very very very far from being as good as the creator we describe it

No matter what I do, I cannot create any quests, or even access the menu, and there aren't any errors appearing.

Do not use. Tried making a quest on reaching locations, it does not work. The plugin is causing a lot of console spams on 1.12.2. Checked the code and a lot is unnecessary. Does not hook with Citizens well, I have reported the problems on Github, but no response for 2 weeks+. A great idea for a plugin that is poorly executed. There are better alternatives to this.

i've had it, im done fighting with this thing to work correctly. I want to like this plugin, but seriously there are a lot of bugs, poor documentation, and zero support. this had the potential to be great, and maybe once was, but it's a literal mess now. it's totally broken with Denizen, and interferes with Worldguard, and there are just SO MANY little things that arent available or are broken that cause you to not be able to create a functional quest beyond the most simplistic things. and then qeusts that do work, they're often intermittent and there is also no ability to maintain offline player data. Seriously, steer clear of this unless you want to be pulling your hair out all the time.

No conifiguration is generated now with the lastest version and when I run "/quests" it comes up with "(red)You don't have permission for that!" while I'm opped, and I have * permission.

It is an increbile plugin that is constantly updated to solve errors.

Many people complain about the bad documentation and I do not understand why, the plugin is super easy to use with the in-game quest creator. You do not need super detailed documentation to understand how it works because the concept is quite simple.

Without this plugin there is no RPG server. Download and use, you will not regret.

Does what it's supposed to, however the lack of documentation and information regarding commands is a let down. Had to wing it and guess what most the options were.

The plugin has been very good until about now, I've been in this issue where the quests dont show over npc's heads. For example, when I click on an NPC, literally nothing happens. Everything else is working? What could be the issue?

This plugin is awesome but i need help... When i make Quest to kill mobs . I spawn mobs with spawnegg and after that i killed them it doesnt counts to the counter of killed mobs so i cannot complete quest :/

Yes, the bug is in the translation to ru-RU when installing the en-US by default, commands are displayed correctly and the plugin starts to work. I don't think it's right to put in a load of translations that do not work properly. I think in the near future you'll fix it. The rating change to 4 stars due to not matching the description and availability of translation files, I am afraid that other languages may be the same situation.

Awesome plugin, but i have a problem, when i try to type the /quest command it says "NULL" and when i type /quests it says the commands but it says NULL on every command, same happen when i type /questadmin..

Any way you could change the way quests are edited? I have a named quest as &8&l[ &c&o&lMain Story - Part 2 &8&l] but whenever I type that into the "Enter Quest name to edit" part it doesn't read it. D:

This is such a Great Plugin! I use it to make nice and beautiful Quests for my server! It can be confusing at first, but you get the hang of it. I love that it is integrated into Citizens also!

Amazing, used as key plugin to my server. Works perfect, but /quest editor for other ops doesnt work in latest update.

Great UI, unfortunately it's spamming my console with "Could not pass event PlayerInteractEvent. along with Quester data for UUID not stored and Quester not found for UUID. Would like to have kept it but removing it for now.

With the newest pluginversion the bug of the quests editor has disappeared. Run again as usual. Great coder, he reacts very fast and takes personal contact.

The plugin overall is good but there is a bug/error that you can do quests in creative mode. The plugin owner was last 3weeks and 5 days ago so inactive owner. That's why I'm giving this bad review.

Its good. had a journcal book and when a player has to go to a certain location as an objective his compass points to the location which dumbs it down to make it easy for the players to understand

It is great how i can do anything in-game, like create questes, edit them, and, my favourite, create events! This works so good that i cant even fully describe it.

If you want fully configurable quest plugin, you have to choose This one.

Excellent plugin! I've used it for just over a year and i'm very satisfied with the results. By far one of the better Questing plugins out there. With that being said, I have a few particular gripes: The module for MythicMobs compatibility is finicky at times, especially with crackshot; However, this is likely caused by CrackShot not handing death events particularly well. One more major gripe is the inability to level-lock quests. You are able to jury rig something together using item requirements, it is not as smooth as it could be. With that being said, Quests is still a must-have for any RPG server worth its salt, up there with ILS and Mythic/Custom Mobs.

3Years and the Plugin works, works, works! You are my Hero! In the Future we hoppe of GUI an more details in the Quest Journal! Lets Rock MC again!

I will say how ever the bukkit version does not work.

Best quest plugin out there. Setting up the first couple quests is a bit difficult, but after a few you get used to it and set up is quick. There's also many possibilites and you can make some pretty intricate quests. Developer releases updates to fix bugs very often.

I tried this plugin with 1.12 Spigot Server and compatible citizens plugin.
I spend loads of time setting up quests, its requirements, rewards, connected them to npcs and found that i cant delete quests they always come back magicaly, players get stuck like npc will not accept correct item or will say that no more quests are avaible. And i totally lost hope after restarting server to find out that this plugin will reset all players progress. Loads wasted time...
And I cant setup WorldGuard region as one of the stages?
I really like quests idea in game and would love to see this plugin working in game but for now it is totally useless time waster plugin.
Looking forward to next update.
