First off, it's not because Spigot doesn't support it that I can't use it. If you want, you can check the source code to see that it actually does something.
Spigot is a layer on top of CraftBukkit which is a layer on top of Bukkit which is itself a layer on top of Minecraft.
CraftBukkit allows developers to access the Minecraft code from Bukkit/Spigot classes, meaning that I can just intercept the data sent by the client and the server, to modify it.
Second, you have no proof for your claim that it breaks the chat (It might be related to the fact that my plugin works and doesn't break chat)
Third, it's not because a Paper dev says it that it's fact. It is easy for any Minecraft programmer to fake a report (Gaslight hasn't actually been patched yet), and we have no proof that their "highly trained moderators" will actually take time to understand the context.
Fourth, remember how servers moderated themselves for an entire decade, and it worked flawlessly? Well M$ is just taking control away from servers, to try and make their game actively worse. Big companies don't care about you. When they said they said it was to improve player safety, it's just to collect more data on you and make you buy the game again.
