I think this will prevent ghost totems that happen much more when instant respawn is enabled with /gamerule for some reason.

(At least some people told me that caused it)

Yup :) Though there have been some cases where a very short delay (before respawn) was desired, for scoreboard objective purposes, this plugin provides such a delay. But for the most part, I totally agree: simply enabling that gamerule is definitely the easier way, if the MC version provides that. I wouldn't say 99% though, as there are several servers still using rather old versions, thus they need a different solution to provide instant respawn.
