You can always remove the generator recipe in generators.yml. You can also disable the particles and sounds in config.yml. I don't really see the point in making it dependent on permissions.

While the overall system is great and easy to customize, I'm finding it hard to fix a syntax error that multiple changes to the config has not fixed. Along with this, it seems the plugin dev hasn't made good support infrastructure with it relying on friending his discord, making him hard to reach atm.

Hey! Thanks for your review.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm always happy to help, especially with the configuration issues. But at the time you tried to ask me for help (which is 4 AM for me) I was obviously unreachable and asleep, and I'm sorry for that.

Configuration files were always kind of tricky, so that's why I'm currently working on a more user-friendly error handling system that is showing exactly what might be causing the issue and where.

But if there is a syntax error, you can always use a YAML linter, for example: http://www.yamllint.com.
If this tool doesn't expose your problem, then we can investigate it further.

That's kinda strange to hear my plugin has a lot of bugs. Me and a couple of other players were testing it really intensively, and we hardly found any.
