Very Good plugin! Easy setup, lots of configurable Potential such as the GUIs, Animations, Particles, and overall message layouts

But,

you can only change the message layout for every Crate not per Crate,
you cant change the volume or pitch for the GUI animation sounds

it has all a crate plugin needs, does what it should do, the little things aside.

This plugin is amazing, it has a lot of feature and great details. but, the rarity and chance system is way too complicated to understand even with a wiki it give me a headache. If you could just toggle the system to a simple rarity fixed system like every rarity have a fixed chance (honestly it might be already possible but the wiki killed me with all those math stuff). I had to recode the whole rarity system myself with the source code, it was easier for me. Well anyway i would still reccomend this plugin since it has a lot of customizable stuff like particles, opening effect and more.

Great crates plugin. Should be the only one. Hands down the easiest crate plugin to use. Read the manual and you'll be fine. Granular options, quick and easy GUI means no reloads/restarts necessary. You can knock out all crates in a few hours. Absolute game changer!

Great plugin. I love how easy it is to set up the crates. Im able to give players custom items as rewards in a fun way. The performance hit is next to nothing according to spark. Well done!

bro on god this plugin is 10/10, it took me only ~20 minutes to create 3 crates... with other crates plugin it was a solid 1/2 hours in creating the items, but with this Editor GUI bro i got no words to tell you... just go for this plugin... you have different previews for each crate.. automatic holograms & placeholders & effects and MANY MORE ITS THE FIREEEE..

Amazing crates plugin, we use it on our server and I like that almost everything is customizable.

Repeatedly right clicking on the ground in the GUI of the raffle allows you to infinitely duplicate the raffle box, hopefully this will be fixed quickly, it's a serious problem!

Plugin was great never had a problem with it, except one error which I wanted to get help from and was ignored because someone was too bothered to help me. Replied to someone's message with a ping to get someone's attention at least, and a few moments later I was banned, no warning no nothing.

i had installed this plugin on 1.20.4 modified my crates and everything
but when i updated to 1.20.6 [reinstalled all latest requirements] the nbt items were broken [no lore or enchantmens were showing also was armor trim].

i quickly reported this issue on discord but you just had banned me bcs i were ONLY ASKING FOR SUPPORT. Now can you actually just fix the problem instead of banning ppl?

yo i have a slight problem, i have like 5 diff crates on this server im a dev on but they where made by devs who have long stopped playing on it ive been asked to change a vindicator spawner on a crate to a evoker one, but when i did it changed kinda, if you land on it you get the evoker spawner but it doesnt say evoker spawner in the preview of the crate so i checked the preview files but there where only configs for default and vote any advice on how i can change the prview of the crate that has the problem since there are no config files for the preview of it? (for added context the crate is a legendary crate)

Plugin simply doesn't work. The chat broadcast and the message only the client sees is completely clapped. Dev refuses to answer questions. Picks and chooses questions selectively so he never has to provide actual support. Talks down to all users and implies they're idiots because his buggy spaghetti code plugin doesn't work as advertised. Then he updates the plugin to remove physical crates entirely, conceding that it never worked in the first place. Don't download.

the plugin works most of the time but when you set it to give an item to the player it messes up the nbt data. Instead of even telling me they would try to fix the issue they said to make a command to give them the item which requires a lot more effort when there is already supposed to be a function for it.

I'm giving this plugin a bad review because the first time I used it was based on chance, now it's based on weights and rarity. And I'm not saying that a better thought-out system is a bad thing, it's just explained poorly. I spent over an hour trying to understand how the system works but I still don't get it, maybe you have to be an Einstein or something. If you would put the old chance system back in place. Or at least a setting in the config for that, I would change my review. If you had a Discord server, I would write there, but from what I've seen you don't have one either. Thanks for reading!

It's a very good Plugin with a nice configuration and clean look. The only problem is that there is no discord anymore and my console is getting constantly spammed and I need help. But on my other servers it works great and I can't say nothing against it except this problem which is probably my fault. Keep up the great Work :)

5.2.0 very badly version... NEW opening configuration config. This requires most people to spend a lot of time to create animations and learn documentaion again...

We have 2024 and there is no way to transfer old configuration

Additionally author deleted spin_3_rows.yml from oldest configuration so now we don't even know how to create such a file and whether it is possible...

There is no support on the Discord server. If you get an error with the plugin or a feature doesn't work properly, you're on your own. I didn't get a reply for support on the discord server even though I waited for days. Nice plugin but there is no discord support.

I have an issue where a reward is set to 1%, but i get it all the time.

It would be better if it is clear what needs to be reconfigured in each upgrade, and there are versions of supporting libraries.

I loved the update but it is a beta, few understand that and they get hot, they try to give a bad image to the plugin when the developer keeps the upgrades alive and still working, instead of criticizing, value the work.

5.2.0 introduces a new configuration structure. While on paper this is okay and fine, the creator of this plugin does not intrude a new way for people to transfer over their old configurations to newer configurations. This requires most people to spend time redoing ALL of their configuration work.

This is something I'm strongly against plugin owners doing, as it's not too hard to introduce a way for people to convert their old configurations to newer ones.

Just something to keep in mind, that there is the potential for all configuration work to be wiped with one update.

For everyone having problems. Just downgrade to version 5.0.0 of ExcellentCrates with NexEngine again. The newest Versions of ExcellentCrates are way more inconvienient to configure than the old ones tbh.

So If you are not in need of the new Shop Stand Features, stay on 5.0.0, everything there works fine.

You can no longer preview a crate key with a crate in your inventory, as it just opens it, if you don't have one inside your inventory, it opens the preview menu, but also displays that you don't have a key, which then the knockback effect still happens. Not to mention a boat load of items in /crate editor have broken placeholders.

Going back from ExcellentCrates-5.2.1.jar and
nightcore-2.5.2.jar, to ExcellentCrates-5.0.0.jar with NexEngine 2.2.12, all these issues are gone.

Their discord support is trash, and you get banned when you ping someone. Just like it's their death-reason. And the plugin can sometimes be pretty confusing. Is there any way, to block that notify message you're getting, when you get a crate?

It's definitely one of the best crates plugin out there. It's super easy to create and manager crates. I was a bit scared at first to use this, as I haven't in the past, but once I created my first few crates, it's like the back of my hand now. Good work in creating this, thank you.

It's pretty funny that the author is right, people keep blaming the plugin when it is actually their lack of plugin configuration skills. I've used SpecializedCrates, EcoCrates, and AdvancedCrates in the past and ExcellentCrates is far better in terms of reliability, and simplicity.

I've never had issues with this plugin and it is unbelievable how easy it is to create new crates/keys and drag items to add as rewards.

it's not the worst crate plugin available, its just tacky and has too much going on - good if you want an overwhelming op server but i wouldnt recommend it if you have a slower, more relaxed server

it ruined the holograms I created. this setting should be false by default. not to be true. thank you, it's free anyway, I don't have too many demands.

This plugin is absolutely amazing. I still can't believe this plugin is actually free but i am thankful over the fact that it is ^^

A feature that would make this plugin a 10/10 would be a tweak to the milestone feature. When previewing milestones, it would be really useful if you could also see the lore of the item when hovering over it. ^^

Also, it would also be great if you could add custom milestones instead of only being able to add existing items in the chests as a milestone.

Other than that, this plugin is absolutely amazing, would recommend a 100% for any server that wants to add a bit of extra fun when it comes to handing out rewards to their players.

This has to be the best made plugin I've ever used on my Minecraft server. Developers need to follow the example of NightExpress.

What is funny is being so insecure that you can't take constructive criticism in feedback and instead choose to respond in an immature and aggressive way.
So I'm changing my review to 1 star and standing by what I said, you add useless shit and break the plugin consistently without reason, and no, it isn't one occurrence. You changed the name of the plugin, broke and wiped all players' key data, constantly updated GUIs so they no longer work, switched hotkeys every other update, added stuff no one asked for, like milestones, rework the chance system for no reason, and switch buttons around in GUIs like it's going out of fashion.

P.S. Before you respond, read the first sentence again.

The plugin has a bug or could it be a dependency on nexengine but when I have these two plugins on my server there is a bug which when you place any block, it is duplicated, that is, it is a general bug and when you place a block it is placed but it is not counts in the inventory and is placed the same.

Good plugin but the amount of times it is changed and has useless shit added to it is just annoying and unnecessary as a server owner.
Having to constantly update configs and fix issues that were never broken to begin with, but were broken by the developer who wanted to change how it looked, is just frustrating.

Honestly the best Crates plugin by far- I love how constantly they update it, and I can't even imagine using another plugin after using this one.

The best crate plugin in its category. Literally everything is customizable with a good amount of amazing features.

The setup is the simplest possible. With the latest changes it now even tells you if you have missed something in your crates.

Good update, it's still a very good plugin despite not having support on Discord. It maintains its quality unlike its competitors, cough cough... There is competition against ExcellentCrates, but I highly doubt there will be any competition given the high quality of the plugin.

Love this plugin! Moved over to this from another crate plugin and this just does everything you want it to do. customisation is perfect and knows no limits. the support in the discord is great

I rarely take the time to make reviews but I have to give this plugin credit for what it's worth. It takes a little bit of understanding to get used to but once I've spent a couple hours on it my workflow was pretty stable when designing crates. This plugin packs a lot of features that matches those of paid plugins and highly configurable. It works as advertised with no complaints or errors. This plugin shouldn't be free, but it is and the community benefits from it. So thank you developers for all your hard work!

I use almost 90% of the features in excellentcrates and it all works fine, I used a modified paper fork and it runs without any problems, I don't understand why so many people give it a 1 rating. Do you guys really know how to use plugins correctly?

Very good plugin, i have no bugs and it worked very good, but it would be better if you can hidd the chance in the open menu and create chances with , like in the pictures and that is not working

Plugin is easy to use and perfect, no bugs so far, idk what these people are saying.

Plugin is easy to learn and is one of the only modern Crates plugins that we could find that works with MySQL, so for us it works great. Our only suggestion is that it would be nice if the plugin configuration files, especially around rewards contained within Crates could be a bit more friendly to work with, I found the whole process of adding rewards to the Crates through the GUI's a bit un-intuitive, but other than that, a great plugin! :)

This plugin Is Average At Best Also The Crates Cooldown Time Dosent Work I Dont Like That Made People Rich On My Server

This is THE crappiest crate plugin I have ever used. Do not use this. It's horrible.

Good plugin, works very well. The editor GUI is a little cluttered, I prefer how it was when 4.0.0 was originally released but that's not the biggest issue.
There is a bug where crate rewards with a blank line of lore "" will remove that line of lore, and that didn't used to happen until I updated from 4.0.3 to 4.4.0.

Hello! the plugin is very good 10 out of 10 but I have a problem, I just set my survival to 1.20 and updated the plugin and I just got a bug that can screw up, I don't know if it's me or something like that but when I give myself 1 key of whatever and click on the box to claim it gives me the reward but when I give it several times when I don't even have keys they give me all the items Help me? urgent

looks cool but if you just cant even use a key no matter which key you use, even the one they provide automatically, then it really doesnt work huh. Especially if theres no discord to ask for help, dont bother joining the discord its just a fkn ad theres not a single chat channel how useful

one of the best crates plugin out there. not only it is very clean and has a LOT of features, it has a very nice dev who is always happy and ready to help, i definetely recommend this plugin for any production server. i rate it SSSSSS tier at least

this plugin is amazing, easy-to-use and very useful. the only confusion i had was with one-timed rewards, which turns out admins bypass. i wish this was explained somewhere (maybe under the win limits gui item) but besides that this is a great crate plugin. would recommend.

Its a good plugin, I think it works, I just have wrong version I think? It did break my server, but I think that was my fault. I'm happily making a new server now. I would suggest it for versions 1.18+.

The best Crate plugin to ever be made, I used this in my friends server and old servers! Sadly it isn't supported on Aternos due to NexEngine not being on Spigot/Bukkit I want to know if you guys will make nexengine built in the crate plugin? If not I would still appreciate the effors Thank you!

Did not even create file when opened. It did not work, in on 1.17.1. Please fix, this is one of the best plugins, however I can't use it, and there seems to be no other plugins I can use.

Its Amazing the quality and the only downside to this is i dont see a permissons feature on spigot

As its name: Excellent plugin, probably better than paid ones. The developer is really friendly and in its discord server, they got active support users

To be honest, this is the best crates plugin i've ever used. Good GUI, easy to configure, astonishing effects, informative docs but needs more improvement in update timing. Hope you improve this in the next update :D

Perhaps every update means a manual change of configs, because the author changed their format

good plugin, but please fix 1.20. I updated nexengine. everything works, except when it comes to actually opening crates in form of an item, it just doesnt work. If i set item to for example stone, and i click it just places and does nothing, no matter if its said stone or custom crate item.

As an ExcellentShop customer we naturally went for this plugin but the configuration of said plugin has been the most painful to setup in 12 years of Minecraft server administration... deffinitely needs to go back to the drawing board with the editor.

But i can't use since i can't display custom rarity custom icons in my crates.
Or show the player name on the reward lore.

It's free and it works. The GUI has been updated and tidied up over the newer versions and the system is just easy to use.

im sure its good, but it doesnt even work. when i drag it into my plugin file, it only puts the .jar file and not the actual one. idk why, but it doesnt work.

very good plugin but an integration with GamePoints - Custom coins/points would be great, that you would have to spend not only EXP and Money but also Points to open a box :D

The last update isn't support latest citizens build and the developer's solution is removing Citizens. I didn't setup anything with citizens for crates, i want only don't see error flood on console

Great as always but it seems that the Battle-Pass plugin is not compatible with the new version of ExcellentCrates and the console prompts Could not pass event CrateOpenEvent to BattlePass.

A day ago I said "It works great. the crates work but only op players get items from it as regular player i can use the crates but i dont get any rewardsfrom it.

Best crate plugin by a mile. Even better than paid ones I've attempted to us. Quickly copying NBT data in rewards is a life saver

I had the same issue and found out how to fix this! You need to run that same free server, download the files in the /plugin folder and paste them in your Apexhosting/Shockbyte etc server! I hope this solves your problem otherwise, just dm me on discord :)

I usd it on aternos then i bought host i tryes it doesnt work idk i installed nexengine restarted few times nad still doesnt work help me fix it.

Excellent Rating for Excellent Crates, if you actually encounter a problem, don't do an idiot like me where I gave it a 1 star, read the documentation and it might actually help (stop using /reload).

Why Isn't it on Aternos? (I'd love it to be there to add it to my server) I saw that NexEngine Diesn't fulfill their requirement (idk what that means but pls add it to aternos)

The plugin sorta works, but when virtual keys are set, player still gets keys, I went to the discord for support. I got feed back as expected, then the dev stated that since the plugin works for them and everyone else there's nothing they can do. This kind of support is despicable, and engrossing. I rate this plugin two stars, one star is for the fact it loaded on my server and the second star is that I could "MAKE CRATES" and "MAKE KEYS" but, the keys are still being given to the player "instead of virtual" as it is set.
The support I received was worse than having to talk to someone that works in electronics at a walmart. I do not promote this plugin for the fact that the developer clearly is so egotistical, and thinking that their plugin is perfect and does not have any errors in it, but yet I'm still having the issue, there was no resolution, and the discord support from the dev was way below par. Find another plugin for your crate b/c if you think you're going to get support for this if you have an issues, you're very wrong. Replace the stars with two thumb down. Find another plugin. Also to note, I don't read replies so if the ego driven dev does reply it will most likely not be seen or noticed by me or anyone else. Have a great day, and find another crate plugin

Also to note, if you are questioning why I am stating that they are rude, and don't care about the feedback, read their replies to other people, you can easily see they are rather negative in replies especially if the the rating is less than 5 stars. For example the rating from Maldra, The reply from the dev is quite rude, "Read documentation. Do not abuse rating"

Last time I checked, the rating is for the plugin, and the rating is provided via Spigotmc. A public forum, If you read Maldra's rating there's nothing in it that would indicate abuse of the rating system. This developer really has some kind of anger problem... it's disgusting. Conceited? Perhaps. Again, FIND ANOTHER PLUGIN, avoid this one. tsk tsk tsk.

This is by far the best crate plugin I've ever used. The commands and menus are user-friendly and easy to understand. The animations, particles, and holograms are very nice touches as well. This plugin doesn't get buggy like other crate plugins on Spigot, and it handles custom items very well. I can tell a lot of hard work went into making this plugin and it shows.

Great plugin, works easy, custom items. They fixed a bug where you could get items from the gui. Very custumisable but you can not set an chance under 0.01% (which I would like)

The plugin is good but i have a question, how do you add the key count into the hologram? adding %user_keys% into the hologram does not work. The discord invite link is invalid on the spigot page. This is why im asking the question here

Please add back version 1.16.x | The plugin is very beautiful and detailed, but the only problem is that if you are going to use the 1.16.x version, you have to use the old version and this is a bit annoying, I hope the plugin owner sees my message and re-adds the 1.16.x versions to the plugin.

Overall a great crates plugin. I have been using Nights stuff for ages. As long as you can read some basic Documentation and can work out even the most basic things. Even a braindead monkey could understand how to use his plugins.

The fast reward creation system added in 4.1.0 made creating crates take just over a minute when it could previously take over an hour. Excellent addition.

Hands down, best crate plugin if you use custom items. The copy item feature will save you hours if you have a lot of custom items. Other crate plugins try to be too fancy and make it harder to do large scale item crates. I have 8 seperate crates with over 80 items in each and this plugin is a lifesaver

the plugin is amazing, there is just an issue with the editor GUI, and placing down crates. any idea on when this may be fixed?

I use the /editor command and a chest with no content pops up, in the supporting videos it shows a chest with keys and chests available after entering this command, could anyone help me fix this? i have the engine installed on the latest version same as the mod

Please fix an update for 1.19.2, I have to install version 4.0.3
Also you can not have any animations on this version because the stuff just despawn. If these things are fixed it is way better. But how would I report a bug or ask for any support if you don't have any. And you also do not support the discord someone else made for support. Give that then.

It's a great plugin however for some reason major features of the previous version GoldenCrates have been removed from ExcellentCrates; notably for me the ability to give multiple rewards without an animation.

Very good crates plugin. I recommend it a lot. Only thing i am really missing is a way to make OP’ed people also have to pay money required for a crate (for example if a op’ed player has a excellentcrates.user he has to pay, because currently ops override evrything)

Love the crate addon, Though I'm unsure if I'm able to import my old sql .db to the mysql database, and would recommend the ability to export sql to mysql if it's unavailable.

Yeah, yeah. Just read the documentation that totally explains the error that you are having and you will be A-OK!!!!!!!! Sad to see that there is no discord support. Just open a discord, you dont have to be the one giving it. It really is annoying, you have an error, you look at the wiki, it has no info about it, you cant fix it.

OK plugin. But please add some placeholders for player stats (e.g. %your_keys% - shows how many keys a player has, %your_spins% - shows how many times a player has opened a crate).

It definitly is a good plugin, no denying that. I've used it a lot and it's done great. I do take issue with the no support rule, I'm not saying that we are obligated to support but just saying "Just read documentation and you will be fine" is kind of dumb. Anyways, a good plugin regardless.

I know you said no support but I am wondering how can I reload the papi information? Im trying to use %excellentcrates_keys_[crateId]% (with the actual name filled in for the crate id but its not working its showing %excellentcrates_keys_elf% (for example). However, %excellentcrates_keys_goblin% works. Not sure what the issue is but any help would be great

the plugin buggy as f, every menu, command, barely works. it only writes out placeholders if i type in a command. the servers specs: 1.17.1 paper.

Now the plugin don't start because of issues with the NexEngine plugin.

The Support for this plugin is so terrible, that you can say there's no support.

Plugin pretty good, the only problem is that crates items are glitching and when I put custom head for chest item it changes back to default head

I am unable to get the money section working. Most likely because i dont have economy but the 1.19 economy is abandoned (Economy v2.8.4-FINAL). I do have vault. I am wondering if it works with his new plugin (Bank - SupremeBanks ✅ Customize GUIs! ⚙️ Lightweight⚡ MySQL + H2 ⭕ Easy configuration! v2.1.6)? Or if you have a suggestion for economy plugin for 1.19 to get money working.

First of all it is a review. I just say my issues with the plugin it is NOT a bug report and I do not ask for help. It is my honest review of this plugin. To review something properly you need to say your issues with it and the good things about it.


First of all I loved Goldencraft. It worked perfectly and never broke. Really enjoyed using it. Great that the plugin still gets support. Love new features like the limit on rewards. Few things have been removed but I do not mind (like min and max rewards or a few particle layouts).

The plugin has one of the easiest setup for crates and works fantastically to setup. Everyone can use it and if you want something more you can add it. Love the support for custom items!

But why 2 star.

I updated the plugin from Goldencrates to Excellent crates. 4.0.3 (because higher versions DID NOT support it).
It worked great. But after a few days everything began to break. All the menu animations like CSGO just no items were displayed So the normal thing you do is update the plugin to the newest version (4.0.5). Nope plugin wont enable. Checked the error. Could not find the problem. THERE IS NO DISCORD SUPPORT and in the documentation is NOTHING to see about this,
Just awfull you need support sometimes. But I thought a clean install was the best. Nope nothing worked for any version other than 4.0.3.

Conclusion:

I really love this plugin and would like to use it for a long time. But when you can not update and do not have any support available it is not the best choice anymore. Only the addition of a support channel in the discord where users can help eachother would make a lot of sense and increase my rating.

And I want to say it one more time I really like the plugin. It is easy to use and has everything you need.

Leaving under 5 stars means you are totally dumb and there is no help for you my child.

looks like the miner malvare inside, pretty weird cpu usage we saw. and size of the code is weird. also - broken configs. the prev GoldenCrates was better. goodbye, switched to another Crates plugin.
