The plugin doesn't work as it should. The fact that it's also a paid plugin is ridiculous. Don't buy it

Same as many of the angry customers below, I encountered the similar unpleasant experience with this plugin. I have been struggling to achieve this for the last one hour in my server and I can confirm that it cannot work. Everything about the plugin is extremely buggy, almost to the point that it is unworkable. The navigation pane and the work area are quite confusing, especially when you go in and edit quests or create menus, it is a GUI and a very bad one at that.

First of all, there is a problem with the GUI, which is not very user-friendly and seems rather clumsy. The menus are a true pain to navigate, it feels like being in a swamp, slow and annoying. It’s not uncommon for buttons to either not work at all or to work the wrong way round.

Secondly, the documentation is a complete joke, this is the kind of thing that makes people think that the whole just do it with no thought culture is complete and utter bollocks. It is rather empty, not updated, and verry informative. Unfortunately, when problems arise – and they most certainly will – you can forget about getting any assistance from the help documents because they are rather pathetic.

Also, the plugin captures the IP address, which is a big issue regarding user privacy. When completing the Spark data profiling, it is possible to conclude that this plugin is incredibly inefficient. It is, however, crucial to note that once the number of players goes beyond 30-40, the problem of lagging and other performance challenges are easily noticed and really make the game less enjoyable.

It’s not just petty that the bugs are; they are game ruining. Some of the common issues include: Quests cannot be marked as complete, progress is stuck at random points and the player’s items or rewards get disappeared. Thus, the plugin can become totally useless in any real server environment.

All in all, it is advised to stay away from this plugin and avoid using it. It is rather useless, costly and time-consuming. The absence of optimization and another undesirable moment is the collecting of the IP addresses. Avoid wasting your time and search for solutions that can indeed help. This plugin is not worth the headache it causes.

I bought the plugin in ~2018, but the fact that you continue to update it is just insane man, even with all theses negative review.

I managed to set up my server again and when I installed the plugins on my server they do not work, I go to Discord support and they give me a code that I must enter in my minecraft server console and no confirmation message is seen in the console not even in the game.
It's really sad that the plugin doesn't work and support doesn't seem to work on Discord.
I bought the plugin last year and currently I can't use it.

Really not worth your money/time. Wiki is near useless, and the plugin appears to heavily rely on an external API that does more then just collect IP addresses/device info as stated in the TOS. Even something as basic as attempting to check a quests progress has been a nightmare. I'm sure the author will have some snarky comment on how this is my fault, so simply just read the other reviews and see the pattern.

When trying to get support, I confirmed with support that my registration was done, and because something went wrong on the dev's API end the plugin simply bricked itself until the author manually had to go approve my support registration. Once it was approved, I tried to get support only to have my messages deleted without any explanation without even having my original question answered of why progress checks were misbehaving. I have no issues waiting for support, but this is just unprofessional.

TL;DR Useless wiki, condescending and unhelpful support if you even get any.

I purchased the Pro Series Plugin and several other plugins from this developer over three years ago, with high hopes of enhancing my server's functionality. Unfortunately, my experience with this particular plugin has been nothing short of disappointing. The main issue that has hindered my ability to use it effectively is the lack of clear and comprehensive documentation. Without proper instructions, it has been impossible to make the most of its features.

What's even more frustrating is the developer's apparent indifference to customer concerns. Many users, including myself, have reported various issues with the plugin over the course of three years, and these problems have not been addressed. It appears that the developer is more interested in making money than ensuring their product functions as promised. Despite numerous complaints, they have done nothing to fix the persistent issues that plague the plugin.

Furthermore, I must bring attention to the dubious update practices by the developer. Upon visiting the update page, I was appalled to find that the change logs for each update were almost identical, with only a few lines repeated hundreds of times. It's evident that these "updates" are merely attempts to maintain a constant presence on the latest page and attract more buyers, without actually improving the plugin's functionality. This kind of deceptive behavior is unacceptable and only serves to further undermine the developer's credibility.

In conclusion, I regret spending my hard-earned money on the Pro Series Plugin. The lack of proper documentation, the developer's disregard for addressing long-standing issues, and the questionable update practices have left me with a product that I cannot use effectively. I cannot recommend this plugin to others, as it seems to be more of a money-making scheme than a genuine effort to provide a valuable and reliable product to customers. Save your money and look for a more reputable and user-friendly alternative.

I want people to know what they're in for before buying and note that i don't recommend this plugins to anyone without ability to code.

The plugin itself is not bad alot of the feature are extremly well done overall the plugins is pretty good however here's what is wrong with this resource and its author

- MySQL support is still bugged after a while your player data will reset on a server restart
- Documentation is very bad you will go trough alot of internet page before getting the info you need.
- If you're using YML storage the command to reset a player progression is not working(never did)
- On every update he will update the API then the plugin instead of making a bundle with the both of them at once thus making your server break.
- Over 70 quest the ram consumption is high very high.
- If you're using this plugin it is restrained to one IP for a maximum of 3 server(So network with servers under many VPS avoid this because $$$$)
- The dev work only on discord if you don't have it even if you report the bug in discussion he will ignored what you say and tell you come on discord.
- Ego and pride problem he will attack you straight if you're against the way he does( Note: he wasn't like this before 2020 )
- he set up a TOS made for him to make as much money as he can he's not here to give you a good resources but to make money and you can feel that very easily.
- Support isn't his motto you don't pay for it he don't care he said so himself. in Discussion.
- Updates are nothing asked by the customers and are often directed to useless stuff as a review commands when everyone reading this knows dammn well that nobody gonna use it.
- CS-API is heavy it can slow down your network easily i don't recommend over 25-30 plugins if you're using this resources.

This review is from a customer who bought this plugin twice and tweaked around it since 2017 if you're inexperienced with Configuration and Coding i recommend you using the free plugins Quests which contain less features but has a better development overall if you know what you're doing you can hook yourself into his API and override some of the existing problem although that requires some knowledge.

I asked him to fix the problem with MySQL(long known if you look the reviews he even answered on it) and his answer was "Discord Discord Discord" where he will ask you for your config and then say its broken to finally beat around the bush for in the end never giving you what's broken in.

Overall i don't recommend buying this plugins the experience with the dev is going worse and worse overtime he cares less and less and the fact that he as 1k Total download on this while a newer quest plugins with less features has 5k in less than a year this project is a 7 year old now and some of the Core feature as MySQL and YML Storage has problem still.

If you can work without support then you may consider this resources but do not expect much from the developers he's known now to be hard to work with and have little respect for his customers.
I do plan to remove this review once these problems have been fixed and keep in mind that some of the feature are very good but requires knowledge to be used.

Like every other big plugins, takes some time to learn it, but once you do it, this plugin does what it say without problems.

Plugin works as described as long as there are no events the author did not take into account. Like multiple users...
The plugin uses mysql in the worst way possible. It sometimes happens that due to this user data get overwritten and users loose their complete progress.
Maybe this won't happen on single servers without mysql but I would not attempt it.
Author simply closes all bug reports.
By looking into the code (for fixing bugs this is would be allowed under German law) or the database, you can see the bad structure of the database.

Trash plugin , every player data are not saving in MySQL . Everytime login and data will be reset / not exist in the server . If you use local save , item duplication every where , I don't know what is happening in this plugin , or in this author . just terrible .

Usually, I don't like to complain about stuff. But this plugin doesn't give as much as other quest plugins give. The plugin is OK it could be better. But after years of experience with it and unfortunately, I will be switching to another quests plugin that is free and gives more choices. Thanks to the developer who offered this good plugin.

After playing around with the plugin for a while, I found it was super easy to use, and incredibly customisable. The GUI is intuitive and has so many more options than I could ever have dreamed of being available, and the fact it can all be managed in game is super handy.
Not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from, I can highly recommend this for any server wanting to add some spice! Thanks heaps for the plugin :)

I've tested this in like 20 minutes now and could make a quest easily.
I didnt even looked at the wiki. BUT of course everything cannot just be as easy. Like do people dont think that making an plugin is time consuming?... Keep it up!

It's been quite a long ride but after multiple bug fixes and correspondences, I believe I'm at a point where I quite accurately can review this resource in-depth.

There have been many issues linked to specific in-game items and materials that all have been fixed now - absolutely crucial. I personally was very frustrated by this since the "obtain" and "delivery" quest types by far are the most flexible ones. Anyways, this is good and should be considered a plus for Culley.

Then there's the in-game creator/editor itself, one of the most magical things I've seen in a Minecraft plugin. You can literally do anything with any quest while utilizing actions from the CS-API which ranges from sounds, titles, messages etc. to console commands and some Vault actions. This is an excellent opportunity to customize things to your personal liking.

Compared to competitors, ProQuests pretty much beats them all depending on your needs. All competitors either have way too steep a learning curve (way more than with ProQuests) or are too simple and not kept up-to-date. This is the primary driver for my review.

However, ProQuests is certainly not without its hiccups. Apart from the many issues that have since been resolved, ProQuests does require you to read its documentation to understand e.g. how certain CS-API actions work. The item formats with data values can also be an annoyance but say you wanted to only let the player break a log that's facing a certain direction, this makes it possible and I, therefore, accept the complexity it must add - you should do the same.

I'm not sure about the documentation website, it feels a bit clunky and unintuitive to a new user but it's responsive, scales well on mobile and provides you with the information you need. Once you get the hang of it, you can bookmark the relevant pages. I would, however, really like to see all pages from the old GitHub documentation migrated completely as well as more examples of quests for each quest type to help new users see with their own eyes how the plugin can be used. This seems to be an ongoing issue and the cause for most negative reviews.

Culley has a mixed reputation and probably isn't the most forthcoming person you'll ever meet, but he does provide support within a reasonable timeframe and aims to fix issues that you can document; honestly just send a GIF that usually works. The support is unfortunately haunted by unclear or missing documentation and people not understanding e.g. data values that very few plugins utilize.

Finally, I'd like to address the almost impossible task of creating a plugin for managing something as complex as quests. There are so many niche parts of the plugin and so many things people can/will/could do with it, which makes it even harder to track down bugs. I probably would've gone mad fiddling around with all that stuff. ProQuests tries to do a lot and if just one of these components doesn't work, it has a devastating effect on the entire plugin - at the end of the day, there's not much to do about that but I believe ProQuests has reached its highest point of stability in all of the years that I've been using it.

Compared to where the plugin was a few years back, I really think Culley has stepped it up massively. There's still some way to go in terms of documentation but I really don't get all the negative reviews. Most of the support enquiries I've seen on the Discord really haven't been specific enough for anyone to address anything. Give the man a chance.

Decent resource but it's ruined by the poor support. For a complex resource like this one, good support is absolutely necessary and currently it's objectively bad.

Author is a good developer but a terrible salesman and the resource isn't customer-experience oriented at all, many updates completely resets everything so everyone has to redo the whole config (imagine people with hundreds of quests) once in a while. The plugin is decent but you better pray you don't need support, you can feel from miles that the author hates giving support (which is one of the most important part of the job) and the interaction will most likely result in a passive/agressive bad experience.

Most developers on spigotmc are kind, thoughtful, helpful and willing to go an extra mile to help you out, even when the resource is free. Having bought over 170 paid resources on spigot over the years, I can objectively said that the support you'll receive (or not receive..) for this resource is easiely in the bottom 10% (still above the devs who don't even bother replying).

I had a breaking issue that prevented me from using the plugin, I did everything in my power to help him understand/reproduce (I really went an extra mile on this) it but he didn't help solve it in the end and acted like it didn't matter because most of the other users didn't have the issue. I asked him if he could add debug then, to help me find how to reproduce it, he said no. In a last resort, I even asked him for permission to decompile the plugin so my devs can look into it and find/fix the issue, he said no. So basically it was a "go to hell, can't help, won't help, can't use the plugin? Not my problem". He behaves like he doesn't owe you anything, acts like he doesn't care about you and will almost always do the bare minimum & hide from his responsabilities behind various excuses. Hell, I even offered him to pay him any amount he wanted if he could fix the issue but he refused aswell, how can one possibly be that allergic to work?

The author seems to be in a "everyone is wrong, I'm right" mindset and won't question his poor support despite the large amount of reviews that say the same thing. Thankfully, he is a good developper so that prevents the plugins rating from dropping to 1 star (some people just don't need support) but he should definitely work on this or hire someone better tailored & having the social skills to handle support/bugfixing. When so many people have a bad experience there IS a problem, being in denial won't help anyone (nor the ratings).

This is the reality. Documentation on the website and Wiki is limited. My issue was that quests for some reason were not completing. After i shared my config in the support channel, the dev just said there's an issue with your config but did not bother telling me specifically WHAT was wrong. We went in circles just beating around the bush on what was wrong with my config and the dev just stands his ground on not providing support because he's not obligated to or some bullocks.

So after pushing and putting pressure on him, he FINALLY caved in and told me that my requirements were suggesting i needed 10 entity types of CHICKEN with the CUSTOM NAME of "Chicken". If the dev would have created better documentation, i wouldn't be leaving this review and would have not had the discussion i had with him. Which i screenshot before he went back and deleted the entire conversation. So you can all see for yourself the kind of "support" you will get with this plugin. Overall the plugin thankfully does what i need it to do but jesus man... Just help your buyers...

We encountered an issue with player's quests randomly resetting. After trying multiple times to explain this to the author of the plugin he would still not help us. He requested our quests config and when we sent it he said he doesn't open rar files. Quick responses but little to no help with the issues. If you're looking to purchase this plugin I would look for another. My server found a free quest plugin that is open source and it's 100x better than this.

This plugin is very good at what it advertises-> quest management, however due to the recent update I'm going to have to rate this down. After spending 10+ hours making quests, I am not happy at all to find out that with newer versions, I will have to remake them entirely. My players were facing a lot of the issues faced in past versions with Obtain and Delivery quests, and the only way to fix it is to update and spend another 10 hours remaking every single quest by hand? Yeah, no. Not happy.

After expressing my honest opinion and criticism, the dev just deleted all my messages on his discord server. So I will write it here, until he removes it even from here.

Since the day I bought this plugin, there have been more problems than features.

The dev keeps saying, that he provided all support we needed and all problems are our fault, because from his words we are dumb and don't know how to read and write. I've seen a thousand of messages saying, that the wiki is confusing and you can't find anything you are looking for there but it is still our fault. He says, that he is not obligated to give you a support, even though he is the only person that can fix these issues.


Don't buy this plugin, because you are gonna regret it. I'm disappointed that I wasted my time and money for this.

Bought this plugin about 1-2 years ago now and I've tried many many times to use this plugin but always failed because of bugs, lack of good wiki, and arrogant dev...

I was looking over the MvdW placeholders for scoreboards.
I thought a few key features were missing and I hope you can add the following:
Showing the active quest on the scoreboard like this:
1) Quest titel {Save the chickens}:
Kill 2/10 foxes
2) Quest titel {Meet boris}:
Go to 1800/60/2200


I hope you can make something like this and maybe if we can decide if it should show 1-5 queste on the scoreboard.

Good plugin, the unique idea there is no plugin like this on the market... But very hard to understand.. Me and my 2 other admins on server tested for weeks to figure out this plugin. Even asked in discord support.. Dev is replying now, but help we getting is confusing too because in the end-use of the plugin what matters. In the past 1 year i was not able to use this plugin and never will because its way too much confusing, no detailed wiki, the wiki is also confusing doesn't explain much, the in-game editor also not helpful throws errors after u create/edit any quests...

Wow... after almost 2 years of slow rotting this plugin has returned and finaly works the way its ment to be. It works flawlessly as far as I can tell and its really neat and compact. Thank you for finaly delivering <3

A terrible, not working resource by a terrrible, unfriendly and inactive developer. The only times he returns with a "update" are during peeks, so he can lure new customers into buying his stuff. Come at me bro, open a dispute. I have 45 minutes of recorded evidence, that your plugin does not work even in its most basic functions.

The wiki is empty for a year and half as the dev is too lazy to explain how to use his plugin and he's a real pain in pm telling that's your fault if every dependency is outdated in his plugin. It's really poor coded and I don't recommend to waste your money here.

The developer decides to deny any responsibility for this bug, even though the bug doesn't happen when ProQuests is uninstalled on the server. What better way to resolve an issue than play the blame game and point it in the direction of other plugins?

I asked kindly for the developer to remove the TokenEnchant module from his plugin so I could use the plugin without experiencing the bug.

He denied my request to say the least...

All I want is to be able to use this plugin (that seemingly provides tons of great features.) However, when dealing with JCulley and ProQuests, you can guarantee yourself frustration and disappointment.

1. I gave quests plugin 3rd try thinking it will work this time, Creating quests not working in-game.
2. Creating a menu using /ProQuest menu create namehere throws an error
3. Using /Proquest create command does nothing.
4. Bought tournaments addon long ago but doesn't work still, commands shown in spigot page of tournaments plugin doesn't exist. Wiki says Comin-Soon since that day. And I bought this plugin 4-5 months ago.

OVERALL: SO SOME PEOPLE DONT CHANGE. THEY JUST WANT MONEY...

The bug has been fixed thanks to the help of another developer. Glad this one is over with. Now I can really see if this plugin works well.

Hi, this is an honest review.. I spent $25 canadian on this plugin and ever since I have gotten it I have had nothing BUT problems, the quests automatically start when you're opped. the quests progress does not save on reload,restart or relog. {Which is just unnacceptable i'm doing weekly quests and it's just so broken to be worth a penny.} it says the plugins are mismatched versions {Some} when they're not.
Npc's delete themselves I fixed that issue but now they just disable themselves on reload/restart, so I downloaded a temporary fix to reload the plugin whenever someone joins, {Plugin called CommandOnJoin}
Just this plugin has so many problems and whenever you try to get support regarding anything, even if it's a simple question he'll respond "Use format" just to shake the question off so he doesnt need to answer it, for people who provide the format he rudely gives 0 information to the cause and basically marks the thread as closed or missing info, I have only seen like 5% of the support section actually helped... the others are all just ignored or rudely not helped. The developer refuses to help anyone as he doesn't and it[s just so bad. I wish I never spent a penny on this even if t was 1 penny I wouldn't have went through the hours of trouble shooting how to fix some errors this plugins has, and in the end I can't use it as it's just too broken. my recommendation? Search other quest plugin if you're using Paper 1.7.10.
The author does not give support, and says that it comes from my version of Paper, that does not make any sense.

Pro Quests is kind of hard thing to tackle. Whilst I don't agree that the plugin is bad because it doesn't work for some people (in most cases thats a compatibility problem and only partialy the fault of the creator), this plugin has a lot of good but also a lot of bad things.

Pro:
- The plugin gives a vast variety of objectives that you can choose from.
- The triggers work more or less fine and as intended
- The integration with other plugins works for the most part
- The plugin is compatible for many versions (which comes at a cost of inefficiency)
- The plugin gives a lot of customization options

Con:
- The Author is very unlikely to help you if you don't give him a good revieww.
- The author denies any problems (even though you can very easily tell by the many, many mixed review on his profile, that there are problems)
- The resource has random errors where it breaks (for an example the example quest chat sometimes triggers, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it triggers on commands even though its supposed to work on a chat, sometimes it keeps giving players rewards multiple times after every restart of the server etc.)
- The plugin is extremely overpriced for what state it is in.

My reccomendation: Get this plugin if you are positive you can fix a lot of issues yourself, if you are confident in your devs that will work on continuous problems on the server or if you simply have enough money to spend (as stated, the feature-ammount is very nice).

The plugin gives lots of space for customization, a very important thing for a succesful server and it has a more or less easy to understand config.

Otherwhise: Get a free resource and combine it with others to achieve similar ammounts of features.

Any feature reuqest you do, author respons with "too specific for your usecase". If materials doesnt work but its exactly as spigot Javadocs says it should be, author response with "it works for me, not mine problem" - COCOA_BEANS is invalid material for spigot 1.13.2 author says. Wiki is 50% empty so there is no way for you to find out whats wrong if configuration doesnt work.

Good Plugin But There Should Be A Few PreMade Configs For Noob People To Start Their Edits From On Your Wiki

ProQuests is definitely the best quests plugin I have ever find, you can be much different as other servers with it, fast and easy to create quest with the GUI helping you.
All the bugs I have reported on the Github have been fixed, not in 1 day, but got fixed! I'm sure if it's a bug which cause the plugin to not be loaded on startup, it's going to be fixed fast depending on the developer life.
This plugin doesn't deserve 3 stars, it's sad to see all these kids rating 1 star because they don't understand the support is from Github and have to put all the informations required to get the support, the developer is just very strict on this, he does not want loose his time and it's normal.
Never stop to update this awesome plugin and don't listen to all these kids reviews.

Players were relieved that the chest issue was fixed. Confirmed that the editor works fine, quests execute fine as well. Issues were resolved, and players love the plugin.

Plugin does not function as expected in 1.13.2
I am having a few issues with the in-game GUI causing me to be unable to save NPC's and Quests.

I was however, unfortunally, unable to recieve support because of a negative review back in 2016, that in my opinion was nothing but warrented because of the way he dealt with a certain issue.

Author then basically tried to blackmail me into removing said negative review before I could recieve any supprt on any matter.

Please refer to issue #224 on his Github page for further details.

I cannot recommend buying this plugin atm. Perhaps I will return and test out new versions to see if the issue I am having, that the auther is not willing to deal with, and post a new review.

Do not listen to the negative reviews below. The plugin works as described and exceptionally well! Terrible coding, Terrible obfuscation. the "API" is god awful and the features of this plugin are horrific. The documentation is fragmented and bad. No major updates or information about this being updated to 1.13 the developer is giving access for other people to develop his plugins since he isn't very active anymore. CustomGUI is a prime example.

I do not recommend this plugin. The developer is very uninterested. He does not help properly.
I confirm last 3 weeks important bug he not helping to me. Lastly i'm giving everything informations. He blocked me on support page.
Repeat delay options don't work for bungeeservers. Because when players going lobby and join again server they can get same quest not waiting repeat delay time. But he is not fixed or not helping. Just blocked me :)

Do not recommend this plugin at it's current state.

- All quest data for lots of players constantly resetting after restarts if you use mysql

- No way to give these quests back without spending hours

- No support for paperspigot

- Quests don't work half the time, have to do well over the requirement to complete it

This plugin may work perfectly fine on a 1 player test server, however I would avoid using it on a live server.

Looking aside from the negative reviews from people who obviously don't know what they are doing, I really think this is a well-coded plugin. It has loads of features and so far, I have not found any crucial errors on the newest versions.

The author can give you harsh replies from time to time - but don't fall into the trap just yet. His intentions are only to improve the plugin, nothing else.

This is the only plugin out there with this level costumizability and functionality. Thumbs up!

There is no tutorial, Permission nodes, and Is extremely hard to setup. Plus without permission nodes players cant use the quests.

Meh :p Not work $15 at all, I would say around $4. The GUI has a good layout, but becomes confusing. The wiki can be hard to find and bare at times too. It is also worth noting that if you don't use Github to talk to the author, than he just kinda ignores you. The plugin page makes the plugin looks really awesome, but overall it really isn't. It can be buggy and times and it isn't fun making quests. I would =>=not=<= buy it.

-The author has strict guidelines compared to other authors, wich are completely 100% fine and I'm happy to follow. However, if you don't follow his guidelines 100% to what he say's he completly ignores you or makes rude comments.

Of course, he doesn't think he's being rude because you should have followed his guidelines in the first place and then he would have been more helpful.

There are plenty of questions/bug reports that get ignored in the discussion thread because they don't get posted on github. The author could easily reply to them with the link of where to get help, but instead he just ignores them. This leaves people to believe the author is rude or inactive.

He say's that he does this because he clearly states on the overview page where to post bugs, which is fine. However, if you understand human behaviour, some people get excited and overlook things or they just don't remember everything they read 100%.

-There are tons of features with this plugin! The problem that I have and many other people (I have a discord community for this plugin, so I know what problems other people are having) is that some features work for me, but not for others and vice versa.

The authors excuse is that there's no github issues posted, but what he doesn't realize is that because of how he is with everyone NOBODY WANTS TO POST BUGS, they just stop using the plugin, leave bad reviews and tell other people to not buy it.

There's just not enough explanation on the wiki to be able to use the plugin properly. The author assumes that features are self-explanatory, so he doesn't feel the need to post the information.

Overall I give this plugin 2 stars. I feel 100% confident that if the author was nicer to everyone he would have sold 2k or more copies of this plugin by now. Pretty much every developer leaves old versions of their plugins up.

This developer deletes them, so if you have some kind of server malfunction or you just don't have the time to update but need a new copy of the version you have you are just out of luck.

The latest 2.0+ changed so many things and requires the old configs to be updated. Without warning when 2.0 was out of beta he deleted the previous versions leaving everyone to have to update or hope nothing happens to their current versions.

He just doesn't make any sense to me when compared with EVERY OTHER AUTHOR on spigot.

Honestly its a good plugin, it works, but for me it seems poorly explained. Some things work, and some don't. I put in <material>;<data> as Log, since I want it to take all logs, but it says its invalid? What do i do? No idea. I put log;1 instead. Invalid again. What am i doing wrong? The Plugin works fine for me after the update. The dev is friendly and motivated.
The only thing (and the reason why i give 4 stars) that i dont understand is why i do i have to start a levelquest or a obtainquest? i think if i have the item in inventory and "start" it should be completed. I have to click 2 times lol.

when trying to select an NPC to start the quests it doesnt accept default citizens NPC's.

This plugin after several months still does not work properly. MySQL does not work, if you have many players the plugin takes 20 minutes to load (yes, the server takes 20 minutes to boot thanks to the plugin), has no commands for administrators to see the active missions, points or any other data in relation to the players (terrible for managers). If something breaks, you're screwed, because the author will not answer you if you do not put 5 stars in your review, thus falsifying the statistics of your plugin (people do not vote positively because they like the plugin, do it to receive support and that should not be legal). I have lost $ 20 and many hours with this plugin.

Note: The plugin has very good functions, but they are not worth anything if the plugin does not work completely well in all its aspects. Not worth anything if the author lives in a parallel world where the plugin does not have bugs.

Si algo se rompe, estás jodido, porque el autor no te va a responder si no pones 5 estrellitas en su review, falseando así las estadísticas de su plugin (la gente no vota positivamente porque le gusta el plugin, lo hace para recibir soporte y eso no debería ser legal). He perdido 20 dólares y muchas horas con este plugin.

Good plugin once configured correctly. Support from dev is within 24 hours which is nice! He helps with all types of common and uncommon issues!

I am giving this an average for a few reasons.


Overall the plugin is good, it does what it says and works decently. However the plugin is quite complicated and is hard to learn. you will run into quite a few issues especially with reload/loading the plugin when editing either in game or in config. Additionally when contacting the author with questions on the plugin he was quite rude. I had checked the wiki and couldn't find the answer to my problem easily and when asking him he simply said it was on the wiki and left without helping. If you are looking for a plugin that does the job but is at times confusing and frustrating with an author that doesn't prefer 1 on 1 help then buy it. However if you are a new server maker/config-er I suggestion using another plugin.

So I have owned this plugin for about 10 months..and I have gone some through some pitfalls with it. However, it largely does what is advertised. Like a person below I will offer some advice on how to use this plugin effectively.

1. Use MySQL. Saving with flatfile is a disaster with this plugin if you have a playerbase of any size. My personal opinion is that it doesn't save fast enough on shutdown and can cause quest progress to get wiped. Once I switched to MySQL it worked perfectly, no more quests wiping. This could have been improved on recently, but I switched to MySQL a while ago.

2. DO NOT USE /quest reload in game. Like one person reported below, it lags like crazy. If you don't have a beefy server it could very crash your server at this point in time. Wait for a restart to apply your changes.

3. NPC Menu setting has personally been a little buggy for me in game. It is better to edit npc.yml then using the in-game selector, from my experience, as long as you make sure the npc info is what matches the info you put in your config. If you're using Citizens 2 you can just do /npc select and then /npc to receive the basic info this plugin needs for NPCs.

4. Quest Creation can be difficult if you do not know what you are doing. The way the configuration works for questing and the menu icon for questing (if you choose to have one), can be difficult. It does have quite a bit of customization though, which is a huge positive. There was talk of a desktop application being created to help with Quest Creation, and I think that would be wonderful. A prominent example of this on another plugin is BossShopPro, and it helps that plugin out tremendously. It helps to have a template quest that you know works properly so that you have something to build off of(to change values etc.) Really something to think about here.

5. The author of the plugin is most likely upset due to people lashing out in reviews and not asking for support, then rating his support as terrible without even trying it themselves. Plus, the review section of a plugin is to rate the plugin and not the support of the plugin, to my knowledge...and even then, he has helped me out with multiple issues over the past months, if it is something that he can help me with or is actually of concern, then he usually helps me. Although, I have to agree with previous reviews and say that the Wiki can use a bit of an improvement. I also happen to think that even though plugins don't have to come with support, they really should.. and especially one that are high in price and complex like this.

Overall, I am giving the plugin 4 stars. There are definitely some issues that I have mentioned above (reloading the plugin is a huge issue and it needs to be looked into.. my configuration of the plugin has not changed in months and the reloading lag is new, for sure). However, the plugins does what is advertised, and I believe to be the one of the best if not the best public Quest plugin you can find.

This plugin has a lot of bugs that the developer does not care to fix. The developer is very rude as well - so do not expect any help from him at all.

I have messaged him multiple times, and he refuses to help whatsoever, even with a lot of information on the issues at hand.

I've been working with ProQuest for two months or so - and it's working great. I really don't get the full on negativity on here.

Does this plugin have bugs? Sure, but what plugins doesn't. And I'm pretty sure the author will listen and fix it if you provide enough info for him to work with. This plugins gets updated frequently, so bugs seem to get fixed.

Could there be a little bit more info about how this plugin works? Yes, definitely. But if you ask nicely, the author will help. He did when I couldn't figure stuff out. And he responded pretty quickly, too.

Remember, this guy is probably doing his best. People on the internet can be pretty rude. Threatening someone with a 1-star rating if he doesn't respond in an unreasonably amount of time is pretty lame if you ask me. Every interaction I had with him so far was great, I can't complain. Just be nice to people.

With that out of the way, I really enjoy this plugin as do my players. To all of you guys that need a little help as how this plugin works, here is my quest-routine:

1. Create NPC (citizens2)
2. Link NPC with future Quest (/quest npccreate)
3. Make sure to have all the items you need in your hotbar
4. Create Quest (/quest create [quest name])
If you need to cancel the quest creating for whateveer reason, just type in [cancel]

4. will open up a menu that will guide you trough the quest creating process. Little tip: Open up the quest.yml file to add the messages and commands, it's way easier.


Lastly, don't forget to link the quest to your npc in your npc.yml If you are not able to click on your npc to start a quest, that's probably why.

If you are looking for all the commands you can do, type in /quest help. The info there is pretty good.

I don't usually review plugins, but I suppose this is needed. Documentation is poor, and getting lots of random plugin errors where players are apparently completing quests automatically. My configuration is fine, I never have any config problems with any other plugins. Messaged the author a while ago with no reply, or the replies he does give lead you back to the poor documentation.

Terrible resource with a terrible author. Not only does he not give a **** about his buyers, he gives no support whatsoever, has a hard setup, and frankly doesn't care at all. Wouldn't recommend this plugin or any of his other plugins. There are so many better alternatives that are not only cheaper, but with actual support and friendly authors :l Again, terrible resource as well as author.

A quest requires 20 items, when player put these 20 items in over 2 slots of his inventory, plugin will only remove the item in the first slot instead of removing all 20 items.Can you fix it? sorry for my bad English

Awful plugin, players loose progress if you're not using mysql, there aren't even such simple features as force finish/skip command for other players, conversation from flat file to mysql etc. Please, before adding other useless features, add some useable ones..

This is an fantastic plugin for any type of server I highly recommended it I might do an tutorial video on it as well but 100% recommended

It is a plugin with many features, although there are some major ones missing. Solid plugin itself, but like many other reviews have stated, the author is not too friendly, and seems to get annoyed at questions rather than reaching out to help, which I personally dislike. Additionally, the price point of the plugin is honestly insane because of the lack of support / help you are given, the complexity of the setup, the bugs, and the missing features. Finally, for cool features like tournaments and quest organization, you have to pay more, making the price even more insane.

The plugin in itself is OK, though it has a lot of bugs rendering some parts of it useless.

The developer is very unfriendly and rude. He does not accept suggestions, nor will he fix any bug reports you give him, instead he will claim everything is fine, despite multiple people reporting the same bug.
With this developer, I would not be surprised to see this plugin abandoned in the near future.

I recommend nobody buy this plugin.

It's a good plugin. But why when i put my faction plugin in my folder, the plugin proquest doesnt' work?

Amazing plugin, would consider adding a tracker with a compass for target missions, (talking to NPC, going to a specific coordinate etc), would be useful for search missions.

This author is known for not giving support, so if you buy this plugin you will have to know that if the plugin has bugs, you will have to wait until you get an update, and pray that update will solve your bug.

The plugin is good, robust and stable, but it has some flaws and it lacks things as simple as seeing information of the player, completing or removing missions to players, etc. Sometimes missions are eliminated from some players, do not ask me why. And it also does not have an auto-save system every 5 minutes or so to ensure that the information is not deleted.

The system of saving of missions is encrypted in the files, I do not know if also in sql. This causes you to have no information about the players, what missions they have complete, how many points they have, you can not see any of that information. (This is a big problem for administrators)

It's a good plugin, but it could be a lot better if the author were more friendly and open to suggestions. At the moment 0 support, 3 problems.

In short, if you want a plugin with some bugs, and you do not mind if you do not get support, buy it.

As you can see in the review section, you should probably not expect very kind and friendly response from developer. I can agree with other people who put bad reviews because of that. Still, I can't find any alternative plugins for this plugin. This plugin is powerful, very customizable, easy to use once you understand what's going on. Absoloutely Amazing! Ignore those 2 scumbags below, developer was sleeping and hence could not reply. when people pay 15$ (which is a lot for a plugin with so much errors) the least you can do is to help them when they face issues with your plugin, don't you think ?

i didn't want to write a review such as that one in the beginning, but since you don't answer your private messages and don't answer on the forum section i had no other choice.

if i don't get any answer i'll have to warn people about this plugin and i'll invite them to read the forum section, in which so many users complain about the fact they get so much errors and about the fact that you answer to anyone.

Great plugin, well worth the money. Does as it's intended, has a lot of customization. Players like these, I'm using them for "Micro Events" that are automated so I don't have to do a thing but set them up initially.

I have been using this plugin for months now. I love this plugin and so do the players on the server! We have had some errors in the past where the dev will help asap to get proper fixes out! Stable plugin

Barring the fact support lagged past 48h and the author is sometimes hard to deal with, the plugin works great, runs flawlessly, and has a beautiful UI assuming you know what you're doing and configure things properly.

Plugin keeps getting more and more AWESOME! Developer has always been very friendly and has helped me with various issues with me setting up incorrectly (Silly me!), plugins work without lag and also function how they are supposed to. I am a keen buyer among all of JCs resources and will continue to buy due to how amazing and awesome they really are. My players really love this plugin along with JCs others! Thanks JC! <3

This is a great plugin with many options to customize it any way you can really think of. The Author is very quick to respond. The only issue I had was not all of the info is on this plugins wiki. For some items you will need to go to the CustomGUI's wiki to figure out how to do it. If you keep that in mind when you go into this you will love the plugin for all of the options you have available.

Uploaded this plugin (1.10 version not sure about 1.11) about a week ago. I run a medium sized horse based server and this plugin is AMAZING! The ONLY thing that I think would make it better is the option to CLICK on an npc that gives/turns in quest's. Granted, editing the files isn't that bad just would be a time saver.

Overall I and my users LOVE this plugin!

Very good plugin! But add please one thing to config, when player start Quest with survival and then change his mod to creative Quest will cancel automatically.

The author gets salty when people give bad reviews lol. Anyway, It's a decent plugin that does what it says. Just a tiny bit confusing to configure at first but you get used to it.

Absolutely worth it.

Bought this plugin and was a little overwhelmed by the amount of features - after a bit of reading up on the various options it took me about 2 days to get it all functional to a standard I personally am happy with.

This plugin has so many features that allow for extreme depth and the only complaint I can make is that the information should all be consolidated into the wiki, rather than having it split between the wiki and this resource page.

As for the review below me, from what I understand this update has brought a shitload of functionality and things like that do sometimes require a step-back. It would not be very hard for you however to transfer players once-off quests with a little bit of time investment - especially if your server is as big as you claim it is.

Dev has responded to my quieries within 10 hours about various questions and seems like a reasonable guy, just make sure that you actually read all the documentation first, it does clear up a lot of things.

I own the largest danish Minecraft server community and I CANNOT RECOMMEND YOU BUY THIS PLUGIN.

Now here's why.

Dev throws out this update where we have to delete ALL existing player data, for it to work.
So basically he's just fucking all his existing costumers.
I have players on my server that spent COUNTLESS hours getting through quests / completing stage-quests and quests that are only supposed to be completed once.

Now I am left completely fucked, with thousands of players who are all going to complain if I ever update and the fact that my whole economy is fucked aswell because vital quests can be completed more than once.

Like honestly I can't believe it, this is so frustrating and stupid, I see very few devs be THIS inconsiderate of their existing buyers when they put out updates that changes file structure etc.

Now I'll have to pay my own developer to somehow, hopefully, be able to convert the old data into the new format. But honestly I doubt it is even possible I'm pretty much just fucked.

Im looking for a quest plugin that does not require me to spend days and weeks coding conversation and pointing to so many various things that you get lost. This looks the goods with a GUI that is a point and click arrangement, however I have to be honest, I'm really struggling with the explanations in the wiki. the author seems to have assumed that the reader has the same level of knowledge as he does. Would give it a higher rating if I could create a work quest and actually understood what I did. Going through each icon in the GUI, I'm at a loss as to what exactly the material "data" is or why shift right clicking on an NPC wont work. I think the author needs to pitch his explanations at the lowest common denominator if he wants to attract more buyers, especially if he wants better reviews. This plugin would benefit greatly if the wiki had a clearer dialogue with the reader and maybe stepped through the creation of an quest from start to finish.

This is a very good plugin . But i don't know why whenever i edit anything in the settings then come to reload the plugin it says "a internal error occurred while attempting to perform this command"

When I needed help for something, that isn't in this plugin Wiki, author responded with "Read the wiki". P.S. In the wiki isn't anything about how to add multiple "Alowed-mobs" in that Mob_Quest.. (I want to make a Quest, where you need to kill specific amount of any ANIMALS...)

Plugin failed to load right after downloading it.... Im on 1.10.2.... Please fix this...... Idk why this is 15$ and doesnt even load when u start the server

Excellent plugin! but the plugin will not load, I'm Version spigot 1.10 and no files are not even generates control. Good Job :)

5 star, I have tried a few quest systems, this is the best! it does take a good understanding of the plugin to get things working but once you understand it, I find it is no problem to make quests through the GUI. and NPC's.
I love the leader board as do my players.
I have daily bonus and Custom GUI also and to be honest the only advise I would offer is maybe some tutorials but other than that A1!

Keep up the good work.

I expected more for the price I was paying for this plugin. Its not terrible but its not great either. I would hold off on this one until it matures. C-

I asked for a feature that would allow us to require X amount of points to start a new quest. Not only did he add it within a day, he added several other economy type requirements as well!

The characteristic of all the plugin of this Dev., it is that it with so much of possible choice of modifications that each plugin can be also used to replace another plugin (I explains there)

Proquest = Can replaced
- Quest, Achievement, Venture, Challenges, Given life to your server in their adding adventures.

CustomGUI (the best) = Can replaced
Tutorial, Leaderboard, Shopgui, server selector ......... and well of others.

The systems of messages are really cool, the possibilities are enormous.

I have almost all the plugin of this Dev. and I can tell you that I do not regret at all having bought them. Each update an innovation, it is not cool its for a plugin?! :) :)

Great plugin does what its suppose to do, but bad Support asked two questions since friday through PM and Discussion and still nothing.

Amazing plugin, works really well, If you have issues the developer is quick to respond and is explains everything very well!

I've tried all the quest plugins on spigot/bukkit and this is by far the best and most easiest one to use!

Fantastic plugin. This plugin really adds something special to my Survival server. The developer is also easy to communicate with regarding any issues.
