Great plugin which is why Im leaving 5 stars, but the recent download has lots of bugs like the game just starting and looping... hopefully this gets fixed and the next update comes soon.. no rush tho. also the snapshots delete all the kits except 3 so please make sure next release includes all the kits

The game and the plugin are good but the shop is always useless! Once I load it, it's fine, but when I restart the server, it doesn't work anymore and it says: [VillageDefense] [Debug] No price set for shop item in arena small_village skipping item! I can't open the ticket on the discord server!

Impossible to make arena works. After three times with video tutorial i gave up.

Unacceptable for a server with minigames at all.

Setup:
- Permissions listed on wiki are wrong*
- Placeholders do not work**
- Overall setup explanation is poor, outdated, and partially unclear.


Gameplay:
- It is poor and booring. But there are a lot of options to set up custom creatures, well.. maybe you need to work hard to make this gameplay look good.
- Shop setup is strange. Wolfs and golems are not working. Localization file (literally the name of item!) affect on its functionality. LOL what?
- Upgrades menu.. What is that? How to set up that?
- Orbs (things you get killing zombies) counts incorrectly in chat. There are just random numbers displaying on chat, so you need to check the scoreboard instead.
- Change-kit functionality is.. exist but you need to set up the item/hologram/npc on map by yourself.
- Kits changing pretty strange. I do not get the login WHEN your kit are changing after you choose another one.


* Needed to use `plugilyprojects` instead of `villagedefense`.

** Set up as wiki says - placeholders do not work. tried a lot of the variants, as with permissions - nothing works.

Discord support.. technically exists, but I have not gotten any reply for 1.5 weeks already. Idk if it counts.


Conclusion: do not recommend.

Plugin if absolutely raw. They propose you to purchase additional functionality on their Patreon, but sorry, make the base plugin first.


p.s. I spent a lot of time translating the plugin, being excited to add such a great-presented plugin on the spigot page. But I regret wasting time on that BEFORE actually testing it. That was my first and the last "contribute/translate-before-test" experience.

I'd be happy to change that feedback to a good side, but for now, sorry. 2/5. It is playable, but not for a project with minigames that at least somehow pay attention to aesthetics and good gameplay design.

The plugin has a big error, when killing zombies it gives exaggerated amounts of orbs, I ask for discord support, it takes days to attend to me and they do not give any type of solution, I wrote to one of the developers to see if he can help me and the only message I received was "NO". I do not recommend it.

Best free tower defense plugin. My friends and people who play my server are having so much fun. I did almost no config using the free maps and *boom* it's ready to play! My server is pretty small, so having a single player game is a pretty big deal.

Very good plugin, however, it would be great if they add other mobs besides the zombies. As for example the pillagers, so that there is more variety of enemies.

But I got a problem, when it starts it gives the error "[Village Defense] Locales cannot be downloaded because API website is unreachable, locales will be disabled." I had to translate the plugin myself into my language, but that's okay. The plugin is very cool, I trust everyone

Very fun plugin with several different configuration options. One question though, is there a way to make your own custom zombies that spawn during the game? Right now, I feel like the game needs some more zombies to spice things up.

This is a good plugin because it's fun and keeps people busy, however, it creates a lot of lag. I was hoping to use this to keep players interested and even with 8 gigs of ram we still lag a lot. Its the number of zombies that spawn, a below review was correct when it said, the amount was the issue and if you lower it the game becomes too easy. Though if we were to select what type of zombies or the stronger versions that might help. I wish you could edit this and the types but it's not an option. I even bought the enhancements for Village defense but sadly I won't be able to use it.

When i get to high waves, It causes lots of lags because of the ammount of entities. The plugin would be better if there was an option to send stronger mobs(The stronger zombies that exist aren't really that strong) instead of more zombies every time.
The option to limit ammounts of mobs per wave exist but than the game becomes too easy.
The only thing that makes the game harder with each wave is the ammount of zombies and it really create lags.

VillageDefense is an amazing minigame for your server.

It is user friendly to use because of a GUI that has been implemented. Admins are able to create arenas easily and players are able to have lots of fun with almost no effort. That is because of the good design, coding and implementations.

I like the way VillageDefense adds new additional content every so often that improves the plugin overall.

Permissions are logical and well implemented along with the easy to use commands.

There are lots of customizable options, from editing the messages to editing kits so you can edit it as you would like to have it on your server.

The plugin supports lots of versions which I apprise the author for it because that is a lot of work. If there is a problem the author responds quickly and fixes it also pretty quickly so that is good.

As far as I know this plugin is a very friendly to update plugin because the way updates are managed is amazing. Nothing is lost. There is also a wiki with lots of informations and tutorials which is professional.

There is only one con, when you have a lobby in the same world as the "arena" and you have difficulty on easy, mobs will spawn and kill the players. Of course there is a fix, set the difficulty on peaceful or disable mob spawning which works very well. The mobs are still being spawned in as the game starts so that is good.

As you can read, this is an AAA plugin every server should have. I also want to thank the author for the amount of work he has done to maintain this plugin.

Shop from villager don't work: I got the default trade from villager. after i created every thing like in the tutorial video. Zombie get Stuck sometime (on ur demo map Hollow). Then When i get killed, game don't finish auto. i have to go back into the game by clicking the sign, to get finaly the message that the game is over, then get tp to the lobby. and many other bug into the setup GUI menu.

I love the concept of defending a village with others it gives you a kind of guardian/knight vibe and its fun. Upgrading certain things to make your gameplay easier and special effects and buffs that drop from zombies.

Very good plugin! Works very well on my network server and I totally recommend it. I seriously think it should be a premium plugin because of how well it works. Also I can confirm that it works on a 1.12.2 server with ViaRewind allowing players to use 1.8! Only problem so far is configuring things in language file can cause some issues but other than that very good plugin!

This mini-game is well made. It was tested on Minecraft 1.13.2. It loads without errors, and the game functions as advertised. It includes documentation on the setup process, and it even includes 2 world maps you can use to quickly get games going. It supports BungeeCord and MySQL for big networks, but it also plays well on the smallest VPS free server. Great plugin - easy to configure and the game itself is a lot of fun. What I really love about this is you can actually play it solo, so in off-times on a public server it is a lot of fun to pass the time.

To reply to the reply to my last review, I was confused as to why but I have gotten the chance to try it out and I like it a lot. Although I would like to have custom kits (I know there is a paid add-on for it) that is my only issue with it (fully knowing it's not an issue with the plugin) I really do like where this plugin is at, at this moment and would love it to get extended to 1.8, though I know this is not planned either. Great job and I hope to see more features :)

VillageDefense is by far one of the best plugins I have ever downloaded. This is complemented by the extreme support the developer gives on their public discord and the frequent updates pushed out. I had a few issues with this plugin which were fixed within a day. If you're looking for high quality, it's on that download button at the top.

Best Minigame plugin, never seen this on any server i have played but i just have one issue, I have PlaceholderAPI installed but this plugins placeholders wont work for some reasons!

I found this plugin absolutely randomly by just scrolling through resources that were recently updated. And my question is why?
Why did I have to find this randomly? This is a goddamn masterpiece with a quality compared to a high level premium plugin. I have trouble coming up with words because of how well made this plugin is.

I don't understand how can this plugin have just a few thousands of downloads, it deserves 100 times that.
Not only it is functioning, but the author even let people use two pre-made maps. You don't ever see such a generosity and not requiring to do anything in return. The maps even have pre-made config files, I personally setup the arenas myself because I want to learn how to setup them. But damn.

Talented people in Poland strike again. Amazing job my brother.
I hope that you get much more attention that you more than deserve.

First of all, the plugin has good documentation (code, plugin usage, etc.), the creator is always ready to help on his Discord server, the setup can be done in 5 minutes, and the plugin is made that way, that you will want to continue playing it to unlock various kits, which enhances replayability and how much fun it is. The various types of zombies are well distinguished and the plugin can work on BungeeCord.

This is my first day using this minigame plugin and i absolutely love it.
Its very well made the creator definetly knows how to make plugins its on par with some huge network plugins! Definetly looking forwards to updates and ur other plugins! - Da es ein wirklich sehr netter Developer ist, der auch hilft wenn etwas nicht funktioniert
- Das Minigame VillageDefence ist einzigartig
- Es ist mal eine andere neue Idee
- Macht sehr viel Spaß und hat einen Sucht-Faktor
- Desweiteren wurde auch versucht das Plugin so leicht wie möglich zu installieren und anzupassen!
- Sogar schon Maps zum herunterladen
-- Dieses Plugin beinhaltet so gut wie alles, aber eine Sache die ich mir noch wünschen würde, dass es alle Funktionen auch noch in der 1.8 gehen also derzeit Beispielsweise Die Bossbar oberhalb die erst ab der 1.9 geht aber verweis wie es in Zukunft aussieht.
An sich gibt es nicht mehr zu sagen als das es wirklick ein sehr gutes kostenloses Minigame Plugin ist!

Great plugin, but is there a way to delete arenas? And a way to edit mob's armor and stuff? And the shop chest seems to be glitchy.

Even the former author (me) gets great support from Plajer! I am not even aware of all the new features in this plugin and I am still involved in the background! Plajer took almost all the work I had from this plugin from my shoulders that I had while maintaining this plugin and the great part is, he is even thanking me for it while actually I should be thanking him!

I give you 5 Stars ..., because this plugin is almost perfect no error at all ..., but little suggestion ... to setspawn zombie it can be added more than 2 setspawn .. suppose it can be for 4 setspawn zombie in 1 arena .. and also if can ... its level is determined to the last level ... so if the last level has appeared .. then comes the zombie king ... like that ..., good work and keep updating.

Fun game, love the secret well and fast zombies. Developer also helped me with 1 issue promptly and was awesome! Worth the time and effort to get this plugin. Thanks Tom!
