PrivateChest Free - FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
❓ What versions of Minecraft are supported?
PrivateChest Free supports Minecraft versions
1.16.x to 1.21.x, including forks like
Paper,
Pufferfish, and
Purpur.
❓ Does PrivateChest prevent other players from breaking locked chests?
Yes.
Only the
owner of the chest (or players with appropriate permissions) can break or unlock a protected chest.
❓ Can someone use locked chests to trap players like indestructible blocks?
PrivateChest focuses on securing chests,
not on blocking or regulating player movement.
If players misuse locked chests to trap others, it is recommended to:
- Use region protection plugins (like WorldGuard or GriefPrevention).
- Set server rules to manage griefing behavior.
In the future, optional anti-trap features may be added if needed.
❓ Does PrivateChest support double chests?
Yes.
PrivateChest supports both
single and
double chests.
Both sides are locked and protected as one unit.
❓ Does PrivateChest require a database?
No.
PrivateChest Free uses
flat-file storage (chests.yml) to save all chest data.
❓ Will PrivateChest have a premium version?
Yes.
A
PrivateChest Plus version is planned, with extra features like:
- Chest sharing (/chestshare)
- Teleport to your chests
- Expanded security options
- And more!
