ParticlePortal – Usage Documentation
Setup
- Drop ParticlePortal.jar into your server’s /plugins folder.
- Restart or reload your server.
- Edit config.yml (if desired) for defaults like particle, density, or wand item.
- (Optional) Set up permissions if you want non-ops to use portal commands.
Portal Creation Workflow
- Get your wand:
/ppwand
(Default: Wooden Pickaxe, can be changed in config)
- Select portal region:
- Left-click a block to set pos1 (first corner).
- Right-click a block to set pos2 (opposite corner).
- Create a portal:
/ppadd <name> [particle] [density]
- Example: /ppadd MagicGate ENCHANTMENT_TABLE 80
- particle and density are optional.

Advanced Tips
- Any Shape: Portals can be tall, flat, diagonal, or even big multi-block doors. Just select any two corners!
- Animated Effects: All portals swirl with animated particle movement.
- Works with Glass: Particles will appear inside both air and stained glass panes for even cooler effects.
- Particle Types: See /ppparticles for the full list. Try experimenting for the best look!
Permissions
- particleportal.create: Allows creation, modification, and removal of portals. (Default: OP only)
- Give to trusted players for creative builds!
Editing Config
- Change defaults for particle, density, or wand item in config.yml (reload with /ppreload).
- Back up or view all portals in portal_regions.csv (if enabled).
Compatibility
- Tested on Paper and Spigot for Minecraft 1.20, 1.21+
- No other plugins required.
