Hey there, thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback on NotQuests. I truly appreciate it! I understand how you may have felt let down by the plugin, and I want to do my best to clear up any confusion and ensure that you have the best experience possible with it.
1. I want to apologize if there was any miscommunication or confusion about the plugin's capabilities. NotQuests is primarily a tool for creating quests, and it is intended for users to make their own quests. However, I understand that this can be a daunting task for some, and I apologize for any confusion or disappointment that this may have caused.
Unfortunately, the NotQuests community is not as active as other quest plugins, and pre-made quests are not readily available. But you could be the first! ;)
I want to assure you that I have put a lot of effort into creating a comprehensive "Getting Started" guide based on a demo quest in the docs, as well as providing example commands. Please let me know if there is anything I can improve there. Also note that notquests is primarily designed to be configured with commands, so copying config files might not be the best bet here!
I personally focus on improving the plugin itself instead of providing pre-made quests. Pre-made quests are also a little tricky even if notquests had some kind of pre-made quest marketplace, as each server is unique. Quests are one thing, but then every server has different maps, NPCs etc. And unlike something like “EliteMobs” (cool plugin by the way, can recommend), notquests doesn’t generate the entire world, npc & quests for you.
Pre-made quests which only consist of the quest itself and do not interact with the world (which is unique for every server) would thus be really shallow. So I'm not even quite sure what kind of pre-made Quests could be added and what would make sense.
What pre-made quests would you like to see, and how would it help you?
2. Regarding the integration for jobs, I understand that it may not have met your expectations. Integrations only focus on specific aspects of the plugin and for Jobs, it adds a new objective type for leveling up jobs for example. I understand that you were hoping for the Job quests to carry over, but unfortunately, that is a completely unique and independent feature of the Jobs plugin which I didn't touch. If you do need more features in an integration, you could make a feature request and I could try adding that specific feature if their API allows me to access it.
3. I'm not sure what you mean by "magic plugin NPCs”. As for the armor stand issue, I'm not familiar with that specific issues, could you please create a bug report, so I can investigate and fix it?
I hope this clears up some of the issues you encountered with the plugin. I understand that creating your own quests can be overwhelming, but please know that I am here to help and guide you in any way I can. If you have any other suggestions on how I can make NotQuests easier to customize, please let me know. Thank you again for your feedback and I hope you give NotQuests another try!
