Actively maintained. Quick bug fixes. New features coming!!
Description
The inspiration for this project comes from the likely abandoned NameTagEdit project however there are plans to add additional features such as a full nametag editor in game. Nametag Maker changes the overhead display of players in the game based upon their permissions or username. It even has the option to create unique prefixes and suffices for each permission group, and if you really want it... you can remove above the head player nametags from the game. You can even change the tablist name colors while you're hiding the names if you'd like.
Commands
- /nametag - Displays plugin status and version information
- /nametag create - Creates a new group. You can even specify things like assignment permissions, colors, prefixes and a lot more.
- /nametag disable - Disables the plugin during runtime in case of emergencies or just desire to disable it.
- /nametag edit <tag> - Modifies an existing group overriding values.
- /nametag enable - Enables the plugin during runtime if for some reason it was disabled.
- /nametag help - Sends a list of all the commands for the plugin.
- /nametag info <tag> - Displays a hopefully easy to read chat section about the given group.
- /nametag refresh - Refreshes the nametags of all players currently logged into the game.
- /nametag reload - Reloads the configuration, language, and tags files after which it also refreshes the nametags of all players.
Permissions
- nametagmaker.admin - Gives access to all nametag commands.
- nametagmaker.update - Anytime a player joins with this permission a check is made to see if the plugin is up to date. If it's not they get annoyed with a message.
How it Works
Nametag Maker uses vanilla Minecraft's teams which are an extension of the scoreboards system to change the display color of users and to apply prefixes and suffixes to names. Using teams also has the unintended but beneficial side effect of changing the tab list colors along with displaying prefixes and suffixes.
