A custom Minecraft minigame where you track each other down!Minecraft Detective is a unique minigame where all players hunt each other down until there is one remaining champion.
Here's how it works: At the start of the game, every player chooses who they want to track, and the compass will point towards that person once the grace period has ended (only if it is in their hand). But, there's a catch! Every player's compass will only update to the current location of their target once they have visited that location. So, you have to think quickly, because there's a high likelihood that you're a few minutes behind. Once a player has been eliminated (via being hunted down, not through any other means), anyone who was tracking them is forced to change targets.
This gameplay mechanic lends itself nicely to different strategies. For example, you could either play offensive and focus on eliminating your opponents - or play defense, and lure the person tracking you into a trap.
And that's not where the fun ends! This game also handles nether and end support seamlessly. As it efficiently keeps track of the portals players have used. So if Player 1 travels into the nether via a nether portal, and their target is in the overworld, it will point back towards the portal they just came through. The other player's compass (if they are tracking Player 1), will now point towards the portal Player 1 went through. It might sound complicated, but you'll understand it straight away when you play a round or two.
