What is Manhunt?
Manhunt is a gamemode inspired by
Dream's “Speedrunner vs Hunter” series but with extra features!
The Goal
The runners, who only have one life, must kill the Ender Dragon before the time’s up.
Sounds easy? Every other player will be equipped with items to help them stop you!
✨ Features ✨
- Random air drops that land throughout the duration of the match, containing helpful loot and items for both teams.
- A “tracker” for the hunters which always points towards the closest hunter.
- Special in-game items for both the hunter(s) and runner(s), including speed boosts and “tracker jammers”.
- The ability for server administrators to add their own rewards for matches, such as cash!
❓ Special Game Items ❓
A variety of special items exist to help both the runners and hunters. Special items include:
- Target Tracker – This is a compass which always points towards the closest runner. If they’re in another dimension, the tracker will point to the location of their portal instead.
- Tracker Jammer – This disables all the hunters’ target trackers for a brief period of time. By default, these can be found in airdrops.
- Speed Boost – This item gives the player Speed II for 10 seconds, in addition to Weakness I for 5 seconds. By default, all runners receive 3 speed boosts at the start of the match, but they can also be found in airdrops
Airdrops
- Airdrops spawn consistently throughout the match, containing helpful loot for both teams.
- When an air drop has spawned, every player will be informed where it spawned via the in-game chat.
- It’s then a battle between players to reach the airdrop before it lands and claim the items.
- To keep things competitive, the items contained in each drop will get better as the match progresses.
Upcoming Features
- The ability to fully customise the loot-table for airdrops.
- Support for a variety of lobby/party plugins.
️ For Server Owners / Managers ️
Since the new release of Manhunt
V2, it’s now easier than ever to set up a match and customise each element easily from within the config file (
located inside plugins/Manhunt/config.yml)
Hosting a large server with multiple game-modes?
With the release of V2, Manhunt now automatically creates a new world at the start of each match and automatically deletes it once the match is over. But if for whatever reason you don’t want to remove the world afterwards, you can do that.
Requirement: The aforementioned feature requires both
Multiverse-Core and
Multiverse-NetherPortals to function correctly.
Commands:
/starthunt [start world] [end world] [runners] [delete worlds after match?] – Starts a new Manhunt match.
- Start world: This is the world that the players will be teleported to at the start of the match, and the world that the match takes place in. This can be either the name of a pre-existing world, or a seed (to create a brand new world).
- End world: This is the world that players get teleported to once the match has concluded. This must be the name of an existing world.
- Runners: This is the list of player names that will be runners. The player names must be separated by a comma (with no additional spaces). For a random team, do random~[desired amount of runners]. E.g. random~2
- Delete worlds after match?: This decides if Manhunt should automatically delete the match worlds after the match has concluded. This must be either true or false. Multiverse Plugins are required for this feature.
/stophunt [match id] – Stops an ongoing Manhunt match.
- Match id: This is the ID of the match you wish to cancel. If this value is left empty, or not provided, every match will be cancelled.
Permissions:
manhunt.starthunt:
- Allows the use of the /starthunt command | given to OP players by default
manhunt.stophunt:
- Allows the use of the /stophunt command | given to OP players by default
Config:
match > kit > hunters/runners – Here is where you can specify the items that both the hunters and runners start each match with. For normal items, simply type the code name of the item, followed by the desired amount (separated by a space). For special items, put a % symbol before and after the name of the item. The list of special items is as follows:
- %TRACKER%
- %SPEED_FEATHER%
- %JAMMER%
match > duration – The duration of each match, in seconds.
