If you don't install this it's almost the perfect anti cheat against unpatched third party / unofficial hack clients. The Mojang official clients are patched and won't crash, the rest might .. Anyway, installing this will help you at least know who is trying it. So even if it's not needed, it's kinda handy. Thank you Frank for making this and keeping it current during the first few hectic days. It helped my unpatched players to stay online.

Actually a surprisingly high quality multiplatform implementation, seems like a useful quick workaround
