As beautiful as the top world is, the caves feels empty and half the time mobs wont even spawn in.

I truly hope you are working on the cave update like you've mentioned in previous posts and I truly look forward to it!

I feel that Iris is walking on the wrong path. The once beautiful terrain no longer exists, and the datapack is getting smaller and smaller. I cannot understand the significance of pursuing the latest version while discarding the labor of others. Iris has the latest version, but the number of people using it is decreasing. I think this is wrong, it is chronic death.

I bought this at full price ($9.99) back when it costed that much. And even then it was worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. It is the BEST world generator, PLUS you can make your OWN!??!? It's literally the best. And now that it's $0.01 or free (when Spigot changes it), this is well worth your time.

For all cave dwelling, subterraneans that desire to explore underground: Don't forget this plugin existed before the "Cave" update. Before that, most everything you explored was above the ground? This plugin is literally the reason microsoft released the cave update in the first place. When the MC community creates something amazing - microsoft creates a new feature, type of wood, or even a new weapon to try to get people to update their server as they continually break plugins like this. That's why Iris is version dependent.

sorry but i need change my review from 5/5 stars to 4/5. Why? Iris has still poorly cave system. You can't place object, in caves, and caves itself is just sphere placed 100 times. Support also can't help me, cause bad cave system. Just look at the all and i mean ALL screenshot they made. Did you ever see any caves, in screenshot? yes you don't because iris caves sucks. I trying to cheat/avoid this, by place red wool block, and then place object, in specific region, but Iris do not have that fuctions (no that replace with object has not to do with rating, to be fair, i just describe how i wanted, to avoid that). i trying put caveringsupport but it didn't work, so i just ended with blank cave system. Maybe in future, they will change that, but for now, if you want a better cave system, try Terra. If you don't care about caves (idk why is a cave game), then you can try Iris. Also Iris is not Engine, but is Engine, and collection of objects, so is that nice.

The terrain generation is beautiful, however the caves are horrible. They are small, and very noisy. Of course this is from the only available pre-made pack called 'overworld'. There is no end or nether generation. If you want to customize a dimension, there is little to no tutorial or support. And yes, it is complicated.

This is the best world generation plugin ever. It's super customizable and easy to use.

Nothing but issues with this plugin please, for your own sanity avoid at all cost. And the support staff. Oh boy don't get me started on them. They're cut from a different cloth.

Let me explain.

Iris is an absolutely beautiful terrain generator.

It has some of the most spectacular and unique terrain, and it's blazing fast, everybody I've ever shown it to LOVES the terrain that Iris creates.

However, the .jar itself as an unsustainable memory leak. This has been a systemic problem for Iris for some time now, and I'm not sure where their issue lies. I've gone extensive testing and troubleshooting but results were not fruitful.

With no Iris.Jar, my server takes up 3-4GB (With Iris pre-generated world) on idle.
With the .jar, my sever almost immediately spikes to whatever the maximum memory I have set, and then promptly creeps upwards until finally the server crashes due to lack of memory.

I've had this on two different set-ups, both with wildly excessive amounts of RAM... I went as far as to provide 128GB to a single server and it was still able to exceed 128GB after an insignificant amount of time.

So you can use Iris to generate your terrain, but you are effectively forced to remove the .jar; losing all of the world's colors and custom biome definitions, etc that you get when running with the .jar; really negatively impacting the custom world experience.

This plugin is perfect. It offers highly advanced customization that truly allows you to create the world you want (bonus: Oraxen blocks can be integrated).

Moreover, the support is super friendly, efficient, and even multilingual!

100/10 This plugin offers great support and wonderful world generation. I absolutely love it! For those complaining about no mobs, stop yapping there are plenty of mobs spawning like normal vanilla. The caves and biomes are amazing, and I look forward to future updates. I highly recommend this plugin!

Its a great world generation plugin, price may be a little steep for it tho. Bought it a while back and I use it from time to time. My cons for the plugin is that your server may break when updating so you can't really update to newer versions unless you start over new again. Certain farms don't work like vanilla so don't buy this if you like to make farms. Updates are slow and that's alright(I wish it was faster so I can play the new versions). Shit happens in life and we can't anticipate it. Overall, its a great world generation plugin. I would rather use terra plugin instead, but I still use iris from time to time. Absolutely amazing plugin!

Incredible plugin. The best world generator by far. If you just use default settings and generate world results are nothing less than stunning. I could spend hours just flying around and admiring the scenery. And there are few really surprising biomes. No other generator can compete with this one. Also it is very quick, with pregeneration. It has been actively developed for a long time now and is quite polished. I have seen only few instances of floating tree becouse the cave has generated underneath but that is very rare. You will NOT regret buying it.

This is the best dimension engine FS. I can config, and although config isn't necessarily easy, its overworld is the BEST. The Iris nether and end aren't complete, so I'm using a different generator for the nether, and there's a community pack for the end. I'm giving this just to tell people: this is THE best world gen by far. And the creator is so nice, he doesn't even care if you pirate! I've tried New Horizons but have gotten an error, though I did on 1.19 so I will try again on 1.20 but that pack is community managed, and has no official affiliation with the best Dimension Engine in the world.

The launch server is completely broken The loot in chests is the same everywhere, regardless of whether it is a fortress or a cave, so everything is the same in chests! And about the Help on discord I won't say anything more.

This plugin is absolute masterpiece, it has a high level of customization and a amazing support team. Although i only got 9-year-old's coding skills, the dev team patiently taught me how to modify all sorts of values, despite many of my questions being unnecessary. But bro, a dev team that can handle over 200+ answers, per user, per day, is definitely the most worthwhile plugin I've ever purchased.

The plugins potential deserves way more than 5 stars. However in its current state, to use it, you have to be okay with awful caves, messed up towns, the odd floating tree (even tho its improved) and leaves not decaying. I've seen it be used on big servers before, so it can be done, small servers too. In my personal experience, the dev's try to fix serious issues and are hardworkers. So i don't hate on these guys, you have my respect and I do recommend this plugin, if you are okay with some cons for some pros.

I have followed every step listed and ended up with the normal minecraft generation.

I purchased this a while back and it is an incredible plugin. I myself can not code, but the Overworld pack that comes with this is breath taking. If you can code; sky is the limit, probably not you could probably just go past that too with this. Your imagination would be your only limit. Totally overhauls Minecraft and the support team is always happy to help with questions or issues that arrives. 5 stars for the product and 5 stars for the team

This plugin has the very BEST world generation I've ever seen. That's basically the only good thing I can say about it, unfortunately.

This plugin has more incompatibilities with standard plugins than any other I have seen. Support staff promises that this plugin will cause issues if used with Geyser, Multiverses, Dynmap, just to name a few.

The plugin requires that you have a world height of 1024. Sure, you can build more at this height limit, but it causes numerous issues with detecting lag machines, with Bedrock support, and with server performance.

And, worst of all, you MUST re-generate your Iris world if you want to update your server version. Otherwise, it breaks.

There are free alternatives to this plugin that won't ask you to throw out half of the plugins you're currently using.

The latest plugin ((3.2.0 for 1.19.2 to 1.20.4)) dosnt work :/ and removt non stop out de plugin folder.. Where works with the plugin vers. 1.20.1 and wait..

However, it has too many bugs, until it is a stable plugin I do not recommend it for production servers

The support is not really helpful and it often takes several answers to get everything clarified. In addition, the Minecraft support for new versions is lousy, it usually takes several months for new versions to be supported. The world itself is also not stable at all, and generates errors in the generation every time. A real shame, it would be smarter to look for alternatives!

The plugin works perfectly and is very easy to use.. you can buy this plugin without worry

0 explanation about the commands, 0 guide about how to customize the biomes and edit the height limit, and 0 information if something is broken within their system and Developer tells you, "Play stupid games and win stupid prizes." LMFAO, I have never seen a support that literally tells you to go f- yourself! if you make even the tiniest mistake in the world and forces you to regenerate a new world because there's nothing that can save that world anymore since 99% of their commands are broken. If you wish to adjust Iris, you cannot do that; you're forced to use their default configuration forever or pay 50 euros for a customized configuration made by their staff member.

Take note, like I said above, there was no information at all. You can check the wiki or documentation for yourselves, and you'll only find instructions on how to pregenerate a world, but if you want to customize Iris or use the commands, there's literally nothing!

There are a million free plugins out there that have properly explained their commands, but this is a paid resource, and not a single command is explained properly! Do you expect to be a genius or a wizard that can accurately guess how your plugin works without asking or reading anything? You're a joke!


This plugin is a scam and should never be used on a production server. You can only use it on a private server with a few people if you want to experience a different immersion in Minecraft, but you should never ever use this plugin on a real server.

Although it may look unique and beautiful on the outside, inside it's a ticking bomb that's incompatible with so many plugins, and if you accidentally use their commands, the chances of your world being F! are high, and you will never be able to fix it unless you have backups and restore it without pissing off your players. That's not the only bad thing about this plugin; you have to configure it perfectly just for it to properly work without corrupting, and it needs a lot of fine tuning because their pregenerate system has a memory leak!

I've been using this plugin for 4 months now, and the default configuration sucks ass unless you're a Saudi prince that can afford 80 mobs spawning per player, and if you have 10 players, that's already a whopping 800 mobs! Holy hell, even if you set it to 30 mobs per player, Iris bypasses the Bukkit's and Paper's mob cap limits. Therefore, no matter how well you optimized your server after 1 day, you will have thousands of mobs chilling outside your base and slowly consuming all of your server resources unless you use a plugin that wipes every mob every X seconds. That's the only way you can use Iris because, without it, oh my god, it is impossible.

Iris also has so many bugged biomes and structures that there are no mobs spawning, and that means FREE LOOT for the players, making the game extremely easy. The default configuration of the world has way too many ores; you can legit find them in the ocean fully exposed, and with only a few minutes of letting your players join the server, they already have a diamond!

I don't even know why the latest version of Iris has a height limit of 1023 when clearly most of their biomes can only go up to 300–500 blocks max, so why set it even higher? Not only that, if there's a new Iris update, pray to Jesus Christ or whatever God you worship that it doesn't break your world because Iris is a mystery box you either win or lose.

Developer is a clown at this point; his staff is more active and can fix Iris themselves, like, who needs that guy? Sometimes they're telling him that there is a problem in his plugin, but he refuses to believe it because he cannot reproduce the problem! Clearly, a lot of people had reported the memory leak, yet until now it has never been fixed!

Free world generator plugins are 100x better than Iris, even though they look ugly. At least they work and have no bugs! They all have the Minecraft structures and don't tell you to recreate a new world if you make a tiny mistake!

There are more bugs, but I think I typed way too much now, so I'll stop here, and if you don't believe me at this point after reading everything and reaching the end, then try it out for yourselves.

I'm done! This is the last time I'll use Iris, and I will never use it again, even if he somehow fixes everything I said on the Discord server. In my review, your staff were kind enough to be honest about most of the commands being broken, and they're willing to fix them, but the developer, on the other hand, insults you for not being a 300-IQ genius like him.

When Iris first started out, it was amazing! the dev team was so optimistic and helpful. But their discord over the last couple years has gotten very toxic (primarily from the dev team themselves and other mods) and very unethical practices. This plugin died about 2 years ago. don't waste your time with the new team. Miss the old team, and Coco, he's still the best!

Hello, my player seems to have reported an issue, they said they cannot use the End Eye to find the end portal

Looks good, but after we built a decent size spawn, we found out that the leaf decay doesnt work, so now we having to do a new world without iris and attempting to copy over the spawn that we spent alot of time building

The world generation is stunning. The support team is top tier. The cheery on top is the integration with oraxen so my worlds generate custom ore and custom blocks! Powerful tool for creating a unique minecraft experience.

I still get amazed by what Iris creates and the additions if using schematics in your world and just found out I can add custom things to generate with iris through Datapacks, WHAT?! The worlds are amazing and very calming to the eyes. Errors happen but they tend to fix it if it breaks anything quite fast. I really love the addition of injecting ItemsAdder blocks right into the world its just so powerful and does so many things, you have to get this.

UPDATED : This plugin is just insane, nothing else to say.

Great plugin. Works right out of the box, and creates some really amazing biomes. It is not glitchy like some other popular world generators that I have used in past 2 years. World pregeneration is reasonably fast even on my Ryzen5 laptop. I cant recommend it enough.

Awesome plugin! The world generation is beautiful, there are some weird things in the world here and there but its fine. I like that there are commands built in that I would usually have to get multiple plugins for, and the customization is CRAZY!

Incredible world generator. Best generation I've ever seen, unbelievably customizable, super simple out of the box, great performance, what more could you ask for, right?

Well every time I try to do literally anything with Iris, be it making a new world, updating the plugin and resetting the old world, updating the server, whatever - it breaks in a new and unique way. I must have reinstalled Iris over 20 times by now, wiping worlds, making backups, what have you. While it's certainly better than the plugin I used previously in terms of stability, it's still got a long way to go.

Other than that - great plugin, and I'm really hoping to be able to bump this back up to 5 stars soon!

Awesome generator. Pretty easy to use and setup, and if you have an issue you can ask the discord and they get back to you super fast. I've used it lots over some years with friends in both survival and creative. super cool.

Fantastic plugin, with support to match. Not only are you able to fully customize terrain generation and create your on dimensions, bit it comes with a default Overworld pack to start that is beautiful. The support members are always polite and happy to help along with a community of users that is helpful as well.
More than worth the money!

A must have plugin for something like a Resource world that resets monthly so people can explore. I would especially like to thank NextdoorPscycho for being active in the support channel and guiding me through some configurations.

--Mountain biomes are truly amazing in their generation, patterns, and height. I believe the world build limit is 440s (447 if i remember correctly). Ive seen mountains generate well into the 360-370s.

--Locating biomes is extremely fast

There are new cave biomes such as ice caves, tropical caves w/ vegetation that isn't the lush block. But the cave generation could be improved, I prefer the 1.18 cave gen.

--consider making a tutorial video on the install as it seems like you guys are often helping people certain steps.
-- consider replacing " Replacing the main World" to "Editing main world file". I had originally thought that you could regen a world already made in vanilla thus I skipped this step.

It generates really beautiful landscapes with interesting landmarks.
The only little "bug" I've found: Sometimes trees standing in the air above caves and ravines. But it doesn't happen often and the rest of the world is just breathtaking beautiful!

Best world gen out there for sure! Weekly updates the are even working on compatibility with FORGE AND FABRIC what is amazing and i never thought it was possible. The even have fast bug fixes what else should i ask??

I have been using iris for several months on production server and it amazes me how stable and efficient the plugin is.

With this update it fixes the issue that i was even having that prevented Pregeneration on Docker instances and Pterodactyl and this update fixes it for 1.19.1

It SHOULD be notated that if there are any bugs or errors in older versions like 1.18.2 for example, no updates are going to be made, because this plugin its intented to work only for the version that was made, any bugs/errors fixed will be in the next minecraft version, so you ALWAYS have to update the server to get something fixed..
Plugin looks amazing, but i think i payed for something im not fully getting, i didnt wanted to update to 1.19 and now i forcelly will have to do so, lol

This is THE world gen plugin. The biomes it can create are gorgeous and colorful. It can be a challenge to setup flawlessly, but once you do, why would you use anything else? Support is patient, responsive and knowledgeable.

Iris is an amazing engine with little to no caveats. I've been using iris for a little while now and I've slowly realised how powerful it is and how much better it is from the competition, and with the added fact that it is open source you can simply put a PR for any features you want The thing that other free worldgens excel in compared to Iris is the community packs since other free almost equivalently powerful worldgens have official/community packs with more frequent and better updates. Now you are only paying for the engine and not the world so 10/10 for the engine with the amazing updates and the recreational aspect I'll have to go with a 5/10.

Dont work 1.18.2.............................................................................

The truth is that the plugin is a bit hard to setup for the average server owner, and it takes a lot to pregenerate chunks (which is sometimes necessary) but in the end, after everything is done, the payout is incredible. The landscapes this generates are truly amazing and it's extremely customizable.
Would definitely recommend but keep in mind that you need a server with at least 12GB ram to actually run this smoothly (my unprofessional opinion).

With everything that's going on, I'm glad to see that development that I'm making and the community is going strong! The support in my experience is pretty good, and if I have any issues I can hop in the discord and get it resolved fairly quickly. Development turn around is also usually once a week, and its consistent for the most part so that's nice too.

Absolutely fantastic plugin and community, Ignore the two terra devs beneath me review bombing. There isn't extensive video documentation because there's extensive text documentation and a support server. So, no wonder the video didn't help santigrossoo. And it's literally vanilla behavior for every world to be in a different folder, K3rn31Pan1c doesn't understand that it's a world generator, not a world manager with non-vanilla functionality. And the JVM isn't going to by default or with minimal effort be capable of reading a separate partition. And IRIS works just fine with multiverse, it's the officially supported means of world management with IRIS.

Plugin doesn't work, world doesn't render right and there is no solution, i follow the video all the steps and its the same, i tried in all versions and it does not work either.

Asked for help about why Iris doesn't respect the world container folder in bukkit.yml and got this from NextdoorPsycho:

If you want a world on a second partition you will need to make a plugin to do that. Iris does not manage worlds (with the exception of when bukkit misses us cough) but if you can get a plugin to point iris to where to make and manage a world, it can be in 50 folders, iris dont care. this is not something we intend to do, this is outside our scope for just a dimension engine.

Thx I guess lol. Thought it could have been said different but whatever. I just want all my worlds in one folder.

Also if you plan on using multiverse forget about it. You have to use the bukkit.yml generator settings and it names it whatever you set the name as in server.properties. Then after you get all that figured out you get things like:

Amazing Plugin no issues no fps drops and support is great its the best world gen out there you should definitely buy this plugin its so worth it.

1.19 is pretty stable, The performance in general from 1.18 to 1.19 is significantly better. and the overworld / pack quality overall is also getting better

I decided to return to iris because... "I paid for it" So I installed everything as the page says, I put the normal world, but to my surprise, to me and many of the players I had, the fps of the map dropped, in some mountainous areas, the fps dropped from 60-70 to 15 or 20, it is not a bad plugin, it completes its function, but it works if it is for a single player, if you decide to do it with many people, that can happen.

This plugin deserves every 5 star it can get! I have all the world generator plugins you can use with vanilla servers and this one has the most active team and very responsive to any issues you may have. Most issues can easily be resolved by joining their discord.

Iris is WAY more powerful than I gave it credit for and the resource page does not do it justice!

Had a few issues (of my own making) and the Discord community was great; jumped on a call with a really friendly developer who couldn't be more helpful and talked me through some features I didn't even know existed! When "NextdoorPsycho" says "DM me and I'll help you" in his review, he really means it!

I urge you to disregard any negative reviews on here; I've never seen a plugin more worthly of a 5 star review, a lot of effort has clearly gone into (and is still going into) this!

Issue was fixed, it was Pupur/Paper issue and another plugin somehow causing issues with Iris and corrupting Light Chunk Data. Anyways removing that plugin and updating to latest Purpur builds fixed all issues i was having. Now works as expected.

Just to quickly address some points for the latest update:
1: Iris does not delete worlds despite what a review might suggest (i seriously have no idea how you managed that, if you dm me ill help you with that)
2: Iris uses Datapacks, so if you want pretty colors and fancy heights then you will need to know what that means for your server ie: we install a datapack for those, and it could be risky, but with how we have it designed it has YET to break when setup properly (excluding multiverse...)

Iris on 1.19, assuming you have a fresh server and install everything all at once, and follow the getting started pages is far more stable of a build than we have had ever to date. From a redesign on the pack to be more end-user friendly and drastically speeding up the gens. Additionally, Should you be having any issues that's probably because you did not read the getting started and just blindly tossed a plugin on your server and expected it to work like every other generator, however we took that into account and you will probably just be spammed with a bunch of errors about lightmaps and have your worlds adjusted to fit whatever packs you have installed (datapacks and all) so go read the getting started page BEFORE you install iris, and if you have any of these mysterious "it literally deleted my worlds" ill pay you $5 if you can manage that.


The reason for this review is more of a Statement than a review, and that being if you follow the instructions on the getting started from 0 to 10 you will have no issues, and everything will work as intended, if you don't do that however you will probably break something.

ADDITIONALLY: This is the first 1.19 update so expect bugs, if you report them they'll be fixed in a few days. literally

Still the most amazing world generator ive used. Iris was just switched to 1.19 a couple hours ago. Hold off on putting on production server. Its a process people, deep breathes. If your buying it do so still you wont be sorry.

The plugin works, but my server still crashes when the plugin generates the world. No response on Discord server support. However, this plugin is suitable for servers that have more than 16GB of RAM. However, even with a 16GB RAN, the server crashes. I am using version 1.9.4 for Paper 1.17.1.

I could talk about how stable this plugin is, and how wonderful is their pregen system and how you can be amazed with the generation and how beautiful is everything but you need to see that by yourself, believe me, this is my first plugin that I bought and has been the best decision to even play in a small server with friends

I love the generations in the latest update! It works really well out of the box if you want to add new, interesting biomes to your world; thanks to the newly improved overworld dimension. If you want to make a custom dimension, they have different examples to look at on their GitHub. Their devs (shoutout to NextdoorPsycho) are super helpful on their Discord, and also patient and friendly. I couldn't recommend a plugin more. They just keep making it better.

For a long time ago, I started trying to use your plugin, but It was always trying to throw errors.

Now I tried it again, read the tutorial wiki and did it without problems.

In regards to the caves, The spigot review section is not the place to complain about caves, if you have suggestions add them to the overworld git. As IRIS the thing that you purchase on spigot, is NOT the overworld. Its a community pack, and you are rating the community packs on the Spigot page, which is not helpful for anyone. So if you could instead, talk to the person in charge of their packs (nether, end, overworld, newHorizons respectively) instead of rating them on the spigot page that would be fantastic.

Caves: I as the one who made the image for the overworld don't like the new modern vanilla caves, if someone would tell me Exactly what they want, or make the changes to the public repository they will be seen / added practically instantly. I just don't know what the actual heck you want because people just keep rating the PLUGIN, (Which is unrelated from the community's overworld pack) instead of telling me on Git/Discord

TLDR: Dont rate the Spigot plugin (Iris or otherwise) about the Free community packs, instead of rating the JAR and the service the JAR provides, which is a dimension engine allowing you to make your own dimensions. And Stop reviewing the plugin for the public packs

Honest Review:
Development has slowed dramatically, content updates are minimal in the dimension's sector, but for the JAR the only (which is what this review section is for) Id give it a 4/5 because of the latest issues with Colors on 1.18.2 (but thats mainly a MC issue) and NMS updates are slow

Okay so I am very conflicted on this plugin:
1. I love the overworld terrain a lot it is very diverse and it's very fun to explore.
2. The Cave problem. Caves are extremely boring to explore and I would say that they are even a little bit worse then Minecraft Vanilla right now. I would recommend that there is a Caverns update for this plugin.
3. The Structure problem. While you can add your own new structures with this plugin it is a long and annoying process and for the price of this plugin the structures are very underwelming. There are barily any new structures with this plugin and it is not even hard to update structures with this plugin as a default.

Iris is the best custom world generator that I have used (that is to say all the premium custom generator plugins on spigot and polymart), on the other hand you must have a very good server, otherwise the pregeneration is really very very slow.

I'm thinking of making an aether dimension via the tools provided by the plugin.

The caves are still VERY boring. In current versions of vanilla minecraft - even better. And this is a huge minus, the plugin developers still ignore the theme of caves, although this is the main feature of the latest versions of the game.

I'll update my review when the devs finally do it.

Update to 1.18, the only thing that works is that everything goes wrong and once you make a world, you can't replace the plugin anymore, you have to remake the world, they just wish you good luck, there are some better plugins for create a new world, now that I have my players, they keep complaining about the world, because the world is very low; because almost no mobs appear, because the villages are going through the walls, because 500 villagers appear; Maybe the new update will fix it, but I already created a world and people are playing in it, but the plugin doesn't help correct those errors if you already created a world, it sucks that it only works once and doesn't work to correct mistakes

Nice to have IRIS in 1.18
There are some nice changes in Minecraft. I will still say that IRIS Software is amazing in many ways. It has a tastefully radical change in world generation.
If you want something unique with possibilities to modify everything (if you have time) this addon is the one for you.

On the other hand there are aspects that need to be addressed although they may not be important in your case.
For me in particular I'm looking for durable worlds that will stand the test of new versions of Minecraft, something that doesn't go well with IRIS.
I would like to have the opportunity to have my IRIS 1.18 world be compatible with 1.19 or 1.20. Unique worlds that are durable and not disposable for one time.
It would be good to make a separation of versions with beta functions to know how the changes are accommodated and what to expect with each version, since an IRIS world in version x may not be compatible with version Z.
On the other hand I would like a list of supported plugins, of course with the help of the community, or at least to know what bugs may be present.
Especially for the protection of Regions. WorldGuard, Lands, Civs, KingDomsX, UltimateClans GriefDefender Griefprevention etc.

I think this is a good area of opportunity for VOLMIT team.

This plugin is incredible. The amount of possibilities are endless and even though I was looking for a very specific type of generation, it allowed me to create it flawlessly and easily. The support for this plugin is the best that I have ever received, and ⋈-NextdoorPsycho-⋈ took plenty of time out of his day to walk me through it all and make sure that I understood everything. This is one of the best plugins out there, and I couldn't recommend it enough to anyone looking to mess around with world generation for any reason!

It's a beautiful world generator plugin, however you really to fix all the errors we get in the consoles and the mob spawning is just messed up, casual mobs can't really be seen, massive pockets of entities spawn on ice, I don't understand.

Honestly the best World Gen on the market.... BUT if you are looking to use this and have any sort of Resource World, multiple worlds of any type, or change ur worlds a bit then it WILL break your custom biomes to where they lose their custom colors.

Also if you have an issue, you can't update the plugin because it will most likely cause the same issue above, or even make the world gen not load things correctly, not generate correctly, and more.

Overall it does what it needs to do, but I can't really recommend based off all the issues I have experienced. (This may change in the future, at which I will gladly redo my review)

Do not buy it dose not work I’ve been having issue and the Support team doesn’t do anything about it and are ignoring it

I, among other people have reported this entity despawning issue.

The devs claim they don't know why its happening. I posted some further insight about the problem on the github link above about a week ago as of this post. I have had no response from the developers. and as far as i can see it is not being discussed (at least not on the discord).

I am seeing many false or misleading reviews for this plugin, having been using it for nearly a year I have absolutely nothing but praise. The support team are extremely hard working and useful, fixing issues in an impressive manner and constantly working on public feedback. If you want your world to look like it was worldpainted this is the plugin for you, IRIS worlds are simply a league ahead of any other minecraft world and often makes you question how it wasn't done by hand.

Before you don't buy this plugin I recommend you join the discord, look inside the screenshots channel and get to know the support staff! Please don't go off angry customers expecting everything to be done for them, look at the screenshots and realise IRIS's true potential as well as getting to know the wonderful support team behind everything.

quick response to telling me that the old version can't fit the latest version. If it is a free plugin I can accept that but isn't. Just telling me nothing can do. The only thing can do is to generate a new world to use it normally. My server has already used it to let players build for a while. I get the only response is that I need to generate a new world. I suggest that not buying this plugin if you are opening a survival server.

Iris is just the most impressive world generation plugin and the team gave me all the informations that i needed. Special thanks to NextdoorPsycho for his help !

After a LOT of work to get a stable iris generation, i can finally say that 1.9 is the one, this is the version of iris that i would consider production ready and properly good enough to use on a server, it generates quickly with few bugs and doesnt mess up after the fact, great plugin, i started in 1.6.7 so ive been working with iris for a while now, its taken a long time but we're finally at the point that i feel i can give my honest review.

Iris's world generation is beyond incredible, it has my personal guarantee to blow your socks off (and your hard drive) it has beautiful land generation, amazing trees, and stunning structures, the few bugs left over are hardly noticable and are easily looked past for everything else.

The next best part of iris is the open nature of it, you can use iris to make whatever world generator you want since iris uses a modular package based system for world generation you can do anything (almost)

Idk what the low-rated reviews are on about.. it's great! Its fairly easy to get started.

If you want extremely customizable dimensions and don't mind tinkering around in the (excellent) studio mode to configure it to your exact liking, get this. The low star reviews are just people too stupid or lazy to read through some examples on how to do things and has nothing to do with the quality of this plugin.

Not Sure what all the fuss is about, i'm having zero issues with this plugin, other than an "unknown block data" thing but that's about it, other than that its fine, and if im having issues the support is available whenever i need help

I am SB.I don't know what to say,but actually it is just bad.There are many free plugins are good.If you are a server owner,it is just not worth to buy it.None of my players like the biomes,the default config is just bad and tons of bug and ugly sites.

If you are not able to learn everything yourself, I recommend that you never think about it in purchasing this plugin. The support is extremely arrogant and hardly indicates the right path. There are three things I can notice about this:

1. Works, but has setbacks.

2. It takes work to function. There's a big possibility that it just doesn't work. And support won't say why.

3. It's not simple, it's not objective, it's not practical, it's not easily configurable, it's not straightforward. Your wiki doesn't help, it's incomplete, poorly written and summarized.

I don't mean that the product is not good, quite the contrary. He's great, and maybe that's why developers are so stupid. However, you will have a lot of work to get basic things to work with it. In addition, unfortunately, it has few integrations with other plugins, so that it is not possible to use many other mechanisms that could meet the needs of this one.

In short, don't expect anything from support. And expect a huge list of restrictions if you want to use this on your server. It's a great plugin, but not worth the investment.

Had a few hiccups with console errors initially but the developers are amazing with some great support on their discord (thanks NextdoorPsycho!).

Included overworld generator is absolutely stunning and the language for creating my own custom worlds looks extremely powerful once I get the time to learn it. Very happy with Iris so far.

With recent updates I haven't run into any issues, new or old, and the pre-generation works greatly.

The support is also pretty good & for the most part they are pretty quick to help.

In regard to my last review: While the bugs I were encountering were there, they were updated quickly enough along with the release of 1.8.
Apparently I also wasn't reporting my issues to the support correctly, and while no one told me how to do so until I made my review - I am now getting good help with the plugin when needed

Overall: 5/5, Amazing plugin

I had serious problems when trying to run it ON MY PC, we spent hours with the developer seeing what was happening, he patiently and very kindly helped me with everything, I solved all my problems, also PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PLUGIN DOES NOT RUN ON A MID-RANGE PC OR LOW, since it requires many resources, I recommend creating the world on the host, since the plugin works perfectly there, the generation is the most beautiful I saw, I highly recommend.

Amazing plugin if you want to create custom worlds/dimensions for your server. I highly recommend diving into configuring it yourself since it opens up a lot of amazing features for your server. Custom dungeons with your own mythicmobs and loottables spawning in your custom world for example. The studio mode makes it super nice to work on your own dimensions. Support is excellent. A highly recommended plugin!

The plugin looks great, and the generation is good, but the plugin can be quite buggy, even trying to simply pre-generate.

Support isn't that great if your issue is more serious, they are only really kind of there to help with simpler tasks which isn't very useful seeing as the only person who can help with more serious issues (the developer) doesn't seem to answer you. I even joined a voice chat with him once and still got no answer.

There is a lot of potential, but overall: the plugin is buggy, support aren't knowledgeable enough & developer doesn't seem to answer often.

I'm definitely not just here to post a negative review because the plugin itself is amazing by the looks of it, as well as the developers and support members being incredibly friendly and understanding.

Although, I got told to wait a bit on today's update, Iris 1.7.9 because it would be more "Stable". As every person would do, I waited till the new update was released, and I installed it on my server that I bought for this. Once the world was generated, I was greeted with the following issues.

- Broken world generation.
- Floating tree's.
- Cut off mountains.
- Floating structures.
- Too much to even name.

So to have this update called "Stability!" followed by me experiencing tons and tons of issues seems a bit unfair in my opinion, although I respect the time put into this plugin & update I hope a futuristic update can actually resolve the issues I'm currently experiencing.

Yet again another update fixing all the problems that I was having in the discord, literally within a day. the support that they provide is beyond that of any development team that I have been with for support

I'd say the top 2 generators at the moment is Terra, and Iris. I would give you the entire list of reasons why Iris is so good, but I just clicked the back button on my mouse by accident, and I lost 3 paragraphs of typing lol

I will tell you straight up, you get a lot more support from Iris much faster than any other plugin I've ever had of more than 100 plugins for years.

Not only, but I've found that Iris is just a lot faster in development than Terra, and is more customizable in general.

I love Iris ever since I've actually just been given a tour on how to use so many features of Iris how things work and why. It was great.

So i bought this plugin just to shred Shadowpauler's review below.

With all of the complexity that iris has to offer it is REALLY an engine.
I've been with iris from the start(literally) and have used it from practically every state it has ever been in. From absolutely broken, to typo's it has had so many growing pains as a software. And amidst all of the problems the development turn around for them is ridiculous.

Iris offers more than any world generator in terms of customization. Terra is great, but lacks many of iris's Critical features.
Iris by default is NOT an Overworld , Iris is NOT an Overworld generator and rating it as such an ignorant take(Shadowpauler) Iris is an Engine and ratings should be as such. Iris starts off as a Flat-Grass world, and EVERY SINGLE LINE OF CONFIGURATION is what creates a world, and they have a public Overworld pack that they manage, and allow you do download should you want it. So if you are basing any rating of the plugin on the worlds that are publicly available you are absolutely off your rocker, as that is reviewing the wrong software. So if you want to make your world 100% from scratch, iris does that with more management, hooks, and implementations that i have ever seen in ANY plugin on this website; including Terra.

As someone very technically useless, it worried me a little bit to download something as customizable and complex as Iris. However, I couldn't resist purchasing after looking through screenshots. At every step that I've gotten lost, I've been met with community and moderator support. This is a must buy plugin!

Very detailed plugin. Never had buyers remorse but the only problem is the server jar isn't producing the files for the console to read, the console assumes like it's an error and doesn't work as intended. Even with the iris wiki won't work. I used terra world generator and it works perfectly fine, i used Apex hosting for it and assumed it was the compatibility of the provider.. so i switched to Revivenode and still the same issue. hopefully it can be fixed soon.

Excellent plugin. I'm using it to generate a detailed overworld and resource world for an sRPG server. So far, the players have been impressed by the look and feel of the biomes. The support has also been fantastic, especially from NextdoorPsycho. He's gotten into Discord calls with me for hours; has helped me set up specific configurations for worlds; explained support for other plugins that work in conjunction with Iris (which I did not expect or require by any means); and maintained a friendly and casual disposition when assisting me. I'm glad I paid the money for this great work. Easily the best world generator plugin I've worked with so far!

This plugin is absolutely breathtaking!!!

The world looks WAY more realistic!! going to explore the map is now A THING! we cant just believe the biomes and the structures that randomly appears on the world. It even feels bad when you cut down trees because they all look like a piece of art hahahahaha.

Everything is so detailed and well made, no problems generating at all, no random chunks looking awful, nothing. Just art everywhere! People on my server are not playing anywhere else because now they feel the vanilla minecraft worlds looks crappy in comparison

I like the idea of Iris, but I'm partially confused. The main page says 24 - 27 chunks/s, when an update they made had spoke of having 13 chunk/s. They are constantly swapping features sets, and they speak of using forks, and I see a pattern of releases here. I feel mixed about this project, not saying it's garbage at, it's pretty good. For a premium plugin, it sure seems like some trend is being copied here though, and I disapprove of a handful of their choices. And I'm not liking what I'm getting from Iris changing so often, and throwing catchy titles at you to just buy their software.

You have two choices. Either read what I have to offer, and examine the updates of Iris to get the real and current feature set (not what's on the main page, as it differs a lot) and listen from someone who's had a good amount of experience with it for a few months and hold off buying Iris, or purchase Iris and find out what it really has and how well it really works compared to their previous descriptions and listed features.

All and all, I say, goodluck in getting the custom worlds you want, to your specific needs. Farewell.

the world generator works great on my survival server and the tps are stable at 20, i can recommend everyone to buy the plugin!

The plugin is getting better and better, they work hard with each update, Keep in mind that if you have a question regarding the plugin, they could support you in a very friendly way.

As a developer of the Oraxen plugin, I have to admit that I'm bluffed by this plugin. I have used EWG, RWG and TerrainControl. Iris is by far my favorite. I find the generation more beautiful than with EWG, the plugin is easy to configure, the team listens and works hand in hand with other developers to get compatibilities. Great job!

Excellent world generator. Extremely good looking and works like charm, no generation bugs or anything. I highly recommend this above other generators on the market.

I think removing 1.16 support is a wrong decision...1.17 seems to be bad overall at the moment, will you add support for 1.16 again in the future?

Grateful with these latest updates. at this point of so much activity, so many new things and support for problems encountered, makes IRIS the best generator. It would be a sin to give them less than 5 Stars, I hope soon the placeholders for the Custom biomes can be added:

Now it's better. It's smooth. Yes I did give a try after all of the fixes. Did get it to work. Thank you. This generator IS the best one of them all. That update with the chunks loading faster works 110% now damn.

I don't know why people thinks it is hard to understand the plugin. If you won't create a dimension pack from zero, it is pretty easy to use. Just read the damn wiki. Bugs are patching fast, support team is also pretty helpful. If you have a problem and tell them, they do everything to help you and fix your problem. Dimension packs are being made by community, which is also having updates frequently. It is worth it to buy the plugin.

Yes biomes are great.

But it's too hard to understand.

This generator from a player point of view is thousands of times more impressive than the other generators, especially with the new custom biome colors that are coming!

The generation is relatively clean despite some small inconsistencies such as :

• Ravines where there should be water, at least it seems, but there is no water.
• A lot of inconsistencies with grass spawning on blocks where it shouldn't have the right to spawn, that makes physics updates galore, which contributes to lags, besides being weird.
• The spawn of villagers and pillagers in natural structures is a bit weird too, it looks like they have some kind of "hidden" and "buggy" nametag, some villagers also don't have professions so they are unusable for players.
• I've seen a lot of mobs (Pillagers and Iron Golem often) suffocate when they spawn in the structures.

But there are several problems that, in my opinion, make its use in production not possible:

• The generation eats up CPU like nothing else! To illustrate this I generate alone on my machine I eat more CPU than on servers with a vanilla overworld with 20-30 players generating simultaneously
• It often happens that chunks literally don't want to load while generating and I have to restart the server so that the client displays the chunks correctly...
• Even when the TPS is not low, the generation of chunks has a "slow" effect that is rather unpleasant, especially when generating while flying.

On the discord I'm told "You could pregenerate your map so you don't get into these problems", but pregenerating a 100k*100k area is unrealistic both on time (despite the MCA system) and on disk space.

Anyway the generation is very impressive! I hope you will continue to improve the plugin so that we can use it in production.

This plugin is exceedingly great and professionally designed, the worlds just look awesome! The plugin has its price, but it is definitely worth it. The different biomes are very cool and interesting and expand the gaming experience enormously far. All in all, it's the best world generator I've ever seen and it's always fun to generate a new cool map with it.

Truly a next level generator. Completely customizable like no other generator plugin, and the default overworld looks amazing every single time

The terrains truly are next level. They're beautiful. It took a little while to get it set up but its breathtaking once done. It's just an all around great plugin that I'm excited to explore and continue using!

I think it's the most advanced world generation tool ever created. If you get errors or you don't know how to do something there's always support on Discord which helps you.

The plugin by itself is difficult to understand and quite hard to configure if you don't know what you are doing. The Support is very good as they reply very quickly and also teach you how and what those configs do. The World Generation itself is mesmerizing. I have no regrets buying this plugin and I highly recommend it.

Iris in the concept of itself is fantastic. And it does run very fast, with a good amount of customization. The only issues I find are the mass amount of small to large bugs that take a while to get fixed. As well as the lack of support for any fork higher than Paper. If you run Paper and don't mind bugs, then this is the plugin for you. If not, I'd look somewhere else. <--- (Me right now because of both those situations. Which is why 2 starts are missing)

Ok so, amazing plugin. Looks amazing, generates all types of structures, you can change literally anything, overall one of the best world gen plugins. One thing I would recommend is the caves in the overworld preset are a little... open and less like caves, but still, you can change it all.

IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE running the plugin and constant errors pop up with "cant find object in world/iris....", switch to an earlier version of Java itself. I'm running Paper 1.16.5, Iris 1.36, and Java 11 and it works beautifully. Hopefully this helps.

I believe this resource deserves 5 stars, its an amazing plugin dont get me wrong, but heres the issue. Currently the plugin/world file for whatever reason will fail to load any world generation such as trees or rocks and completely not work and crash the server. Ive tried earlier versions and the same thing happens. I've tried Spigot, Paper, Tuinity, you name it, still doesnt work. Other people have the same problem with this and have talked in Discord, but all the conversation leads to is a github link to which they say they are working on a fix. I believe them, but I wouldnt buy this plugin until that fix is put out, because it just doesnt work at all.

It is an incredible complement. Basically you can do wonders with it, of course it takes a little time to learn it, luckily they have packages already prepared, The only thing I would like is for it to be a little more, consistent in the updates, and a little information about the generation minecraft 1.17 v1 and v2

Indeed, a fantastic plugin. Of course, though I expected support for forks of Spigot for it's high price tag compared to others. I am honestly not happy about this, and won't be using Iris until it supports a few other forks. There are a few other world gen plugins free of charge, that offer support for other forks. which beats this competition to me.

Look elsewhere if you are looking to use another fork of Spigot. I was denied support for 3 other forks that are well known. Paper, Tuinity and YATOPIA.

Amazing plugin, IrisV2 is everything and more.

Would give 4.5/5 if it was possible but honestly just leaning more into the 5 stars due to the amount of things this plugin allows you to do if you put enough work into it.

Very active and patient community/support team and one of the most customizable plugins I've ever seen. I had a very annoying issue that took quite a while to fix but one of their support team members just stuck around in chat the whole time until my issue was fixed.

I'm currently using the out-of-the-box overworld for now as I don't have too much time to learn how to use the more advanced settings and customization options of Iris but I've seen amazing things others made in their Discord.

There are of course some bugs here and there but it seems like they're actively working on fixing them.

Can't wait to see where this plugin goes in the future!

At all pretty nice plugin which can be very beautiful. The variety of trees, bioms and settings is insane.
Only big real problem with the worldgeneration is, that snowy bioms spawn beside hot deserts (even advanced settings and changing noises cant fix this)

Sadly it looks to me right now like the new dev seems to not really like Iris, which is a big pity since it has so much potential.
For react and vehicleplus are coming new updates but for Iris is not even communication happening which is very depressing.
(i totally cant blame the discord team, whichs doing a great job)

There are some minor generation failures. had a floating tree in one place. Don't let that deter you though, this thing is very pretty. Favorite part is definitely the caves. you can tell theres a lot of love that went into this plugin. I do hope it gets more updates like the ability to generate strongholds and maybe some revamp on the pre-existing structures like terra does.

Let me get started with saying:
The plugin is awesome by all means. Great biomes etc, but definitely really weirdly structured at some points.

Also the so called dungeons barely exist being rendered useless really.

My biggest issue is that compared to competitors there are more cons than pros which ill be listing below.

Pros:
- support is nice special shout out to coco and nowhere.
- The maps are lovely.
- some custom structures

Cons:
- no dungeons
- no stronghold
- villagers perma die or don't exist
- some villages are bugged out in biomes with trees breaking blocks or empty chests (most often)
- no dungeons = no spawners what so ever so you have to make a spawner shop.
- caves are relatively obnoxious in the way they are designed.
- updates are slow, like really slow due to the dev refusing to get more people on the project.
- Iris causes generators such as chunky to be slower on their plugin, while theirs is a bit faster but without much of a difference.
- A few custom caves
- 100 custom biomes advertised are not really seen but a lot of hot ones as said.
- keep in mind a lot of sheep cows etc die as well.
- biomes are also not uniform ( some are extremely tall which is fine) but some just outright don't feel like they belong there
- if you wanna wait 1 month per update then this plugin is for you.
- fixes said by the dev aren't always 100% fixed.

Now that leaves the question; why choose iris

Well, the biomes. Thats really the only reason. Terra is decent and even though free only has 5 biomes which are relatively ugly. Same goes for stratos. Has like 18 biomes which just feel weird and childish, they don't feel like actual biomes which iris provides. Biggest issue however is how your players will react to the lag of strongholds, spawners, villagers, loot and animals.

i have been experimenting with this plugin off and on over the last year and its supper impressive! and the community is amazing! the devs are very active and listen to every issue. of all the world generation plugins on spigot, this is the most active. i am a member of many of the top world generation plugins and unlike others who have abandoned while continuing to charge, this one has a future. especially with their new Jigsaw generation system which completely replaces the stock minecraft generator for its own. something other world generation plugins do not do. this in itself makes this the most unique world generation plugin on spigot!

that being said. just like every single world generation plugins. this will come with a few quarks here and there but are very quickly fixed.

for example. the guy below me "SliderKP" is complaining about villagers not appearing in villages. this is a very short lived bug that recently got fixed by a simple "update overworld" command. that user would have known about this if they joined the discord.

i am pointing this out because the main dev for this projects has recently handed over development to a new dev and him along with a few others (like coco) have taken this transition with great pride! which just shows the dedication towards this plugin.

please join the discord before posting reviews. make sure that the issue you are having is user error or a error related to a new feature. its people like us that discover these issues to report them to the devs so they can very quickly tackle and fix them. this goes for any plugin.

i am giving them a 5 star review because of how active and dedicated the team is to making this best dammm world generation plugin you will ever use!

I only just bought this plugin today and it has already been worth every penny. Not only does this provide the more tech savvy server admin with the tools to create dimensions of their own, but the provided overworld generator is absolutely GORGEOUS! As I type this, everybody on my server is having a blast exploring the new terrain and structures.

This certainly makes for an awesome addition to my Multiverse.

Guys, I am just blown up by this awesome worldgen. Also, I want to mention the support on discord, especially @Coco and @Nowhere. They helped me with everything I needed.

The reason I'm giving it a 3 star is that although the terrain looks amazing like 10/10 for the terrain. It lacks structure, what I mean by this is that structure that is essential to the game is either buggy or missing. For example strongholds, I went on a newly generated world using iris, and I quickly found out that strongholds don't exist, the same goes with dungeons, villages, or any type of vanilla structures you would wish to find. In summary, lacking your typical vanilla structures. I understand that this plugin is still pretty young seeing as it was made almost 3 months ago, and I've been told that vanilla structure placement is bad so that might reason why most structure is left out, but This makes the world feel empty in my opinion. Another reason is that although the biomes look nice and, again 10/10 I feel it lacks wholeness.

The difference I'm trying to point out here is that the biomes that are generated in vanilla Minecraft feel a lot more whole rather than have patches of biomes everywhere. It kind of looks like splatters of biomes compared to the normal gen. Thus im rating this a 3/5.

Absolutely amazing and worth every penny. This is better than the SP terrain mods, it's so scenic and beautiful with PGTI Shaders and Ambient noise mods. I can't help but take pictures to bask in it's beautiful awe and glory. If I could rate above 5 Stars, i would. Im extremely excited for the future of Iris, hands down the best World Generator available. BUY THIS YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

without a doubt, the best terrain generation plugin that can exist

I only warn those who think about buying it, that the default generation of the plugin is no longer like in the trailer since to solve problems and updates, they changed it, but it still remains quite good, also, with the incredible customization that it allows This plugin is not a problem because you can change absolutely EVERYTHING you want

If you want to make a biome with TNT trees and fire leaves and that generates an infinite explosion, you can! (although I wouldn't recommend it if you don't want your server to explode)

In addition, it has a super active community always ready to help you with any problem or question that arises, and an active developer launching constant updates to fix bugs and improve the plugin

The resource, and it's community is just amazing! I joined a few weeks ago, to meet the most dedicated, and friendlyer developers I've ever seen. Like, can you name any developer who has cheatseeds and multiple keyboards just to be avalibale to help people with other leanguages? 11/10, the generator is one of the best plugins I ever used, all others can hide behind Iris.

The communty is friendly, the support is almost instant, and Volmit does an amazing job! I would specially like to thank Nowhere for getting me this resource, and cyberpwn for letting it happen!

If you want to be able to customize your Minecraft universe including terrain, structures, loot, basically anything you can think of - thus resource is for YOU.

As a fairly recent release, the team is still ironing out the odd issue, but they're very helpful & responsive on Discord, and the possibilities are amazing!

AGAIN this is not a world generator, so don't go comparing it to EWG or RWG.

Iris world gen outputs the most beautiful custom generated worlds I've seen in quite a while. Either that's because my expectations are low, or this plugin is AMAZING. Comes with its own multithreaded pregenerator and all! Without a doubt one of the best plugin deals on SpigotMC. Worth every penny. Oh, did I say it looks ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL?
