The plugin is good, but is there some bugs with doors and signs that which make creating a good dungeon simply impossible.

When I heard that this plugin didn't support 1.19, I had two options:
- Write an angry review asking for 1.19 support and be unhelpful in general
- Run it in 1.19 anyways, which I am happy to say work without (many) bugs

This is an amazing plugin, it adds a whole world of possibility for creation. It is the only free dungeons plugin that I have tried that actually not only WORKS but works very well with custom NBT etc, allows custom dungeon gear to be used so you can balance the challenge properly and with a ton of configurable options why would you want to be without this amazing plugin??? Plugin itself could be good but missing a lot of features required to say it a real dungeon plugin. For new server admins I didn't recommend it at all. You have to make a lot workarounds with denizen or skript, even though, your player will randomly lost their equipment if you didn't apply gamerule (which isn't mentioned at any tutorial at all). If you have large community and never dealt with dungeons problems, stop there and rethink your idea with some world manager instead. It'll save you a lot of crying players for their items and tens of hours to make them flawlessly playable. In case of support, it's poor, usually you can shortcut support to 'deal with it' or 'this should work' - further updates could completely crash your maps where you spend tens of hours of building, setting up signs, mechanisms etc. So if your hosting didn't provide backup, or you just don't backup everything before changes, that's wrong plugin to use as well.

I spend hours editing the map in game so that all work was lost for the love of art, you cannot use something so poorly designed, errors with portals, execution bugs, loading and reloading errors, a huge learning curve with little information in this regard. Excessively elaborate the organization of the configuration, basically it is not usable, this is my review of this plugin, if you want to be trolled, download it and use it, it is free.Now I do not recommend. Just the idea is good, Keep improving it.

[UPDATED] Plugin does what it is supposed to, basically to the T. There's a learning curve, but once you learn it, it's incredible. Personally had a few issues learning everything, but I got some help from the discord, and the dev is more than helpful. Would reccommend this plugin to anyone looking to make dungeons for friends, or for a public server. Virtually limitless.

It works well for the most part. Lacking in documentation, and discord support is limited. The wiki is incredibly hard to follow along, and a lot of the plugin is just undocumented. I watched videos in languages I couldn't understand just to get an idea on how some of the signs work. Satisfied with the basic features I guess, needs more documentation or some videos so this can be used to the fullest.

Haven't heard from this user in the last three months. As far as I can tell, he never made a post in the resource thread or opened an issue. (If you did the latter under a different alias, I can assure you I have not forgotten your problem and, as the new update from yesterday proves, am working actively on the project and will work on your issue as soon as the to do list shrinks a bit.) He only ever used the Discord channel which, as the resource thread has always explained, is not a support channel but a platform to chat with other users.

Anyway, I replied myself in his case and adressed his problems. He confirmed that his problems were resolved, then came back next day with a stacktrace and a rage quit message without giving anyone a chance to reply to it (or at least he ignored my replies). I didn't consider that error a high priority because it did not cause any different behavior and fixing it would have meant to duct tape the old custom item system that I was just about to replace with an entirely new one. This has been finished in the last days, so the error this review refers to isn't there anymore in the build it was written for.

thank you for the report, but please use the issue tracker in the future :)

The wave system has some major design flaws and it will on the longterm be replaced with a better concept. Because of that, the current one isn't supported anymore (see https://github.com/DRE2N/DungeonsXL/wiki/signs#wave-1). This is why I will have a look at this problem but don't promise it will be fixed.

Running this on my spigot server 1.14.4 with several other RPG style plugins. Works great with Mcmmo overhaul, Quests, Treasure Chests, Shopkeepers, Towny ( with config set for ignore new worlds ), luckperms, and LWC. So far so good with EssentialsX, although I still need to do some sign testing but I don't forsee any problems. Also working with Citizens2, but I haven't done much with it yet. Looking forward to adding ItemsXL too in the near future. Thanks for sharing your time and efforts with some well thought out code. If this is Beta, I look forward to the full release. Great plugin with lots of options, However I am running into a issue where loot tables are not working on reward chests in my dungeon, I have set the sign and used the default custom item loot table script that is on the forums, and it spawns the chest but there is no loot in the chest even when items are set to 100%, I would appreciate any help I can get cause this seems to be the only good dungeons plugin out there

This is an amazing plugin. It has a bit of a learning curve with all the signs and configurations for different floors. But once you get the hang of it you can do some great stuff. One tip I have is that signs triggered by redstone will need a constant power. Buttons will not suffice to keep them on. Use a T-flip redstone switch, they're easy to make.

This plugin is amazing, it has so much options for dungeon creating and is so useful for servers that want to create custom dungeons for players that want a challenge. There's so many tools that the developer offers and they are always helpful in the forums as well as on the github! I really hope they keep on moving forward! Hey, this plugin is damn awesome. Still, i have some issues with the map editing that have no solutions when i check the Wiki, some you might help me on that !

My actual "big" problem is that i can't invite people to edit a dungeon. To make it easier to understand, this is what i do : i create a group, i invite that person into my group, then i create a new dungeon to edit. After that, i get teleported and i send an invite to the player i want to give the edit permission. He get the invite notification, but he can't accept it. Or, clearly said, the command to accept that invite is not present in the /dxl help. We don't know how to accept the invite. Maybe you can help me on that ? Thanks mate, and again, great plugin, nice job !

Hi there, glad to hear you like DXL :)

Invitations to edit dungeons have nothing to do with player groups that are basically parties for playing dungeons. Edit invitations simply grant access to /dxl edit for the respective map, while the permission node dxl.edit allows to edit all maps. They persist until they are revoked through the floor configuration or /dxl uninvite.

Sounds like you're using /dxl test. That command by design bypasses the lobby and starts the game immediately. If you use /dxl play or a portal, it'll work as you expect it to.

Only issue is, and I'm not positive it's not a permissions thing, is when there are natural mob spawns I can't hit them and they can't hit me. Is this intended? I would like to make it so the dungeons have an additional random element in them but it would be pointless if they were just there to be in the way.

This is one of those plugins I feel may not be ready for many years if ever. If you're using mythicmobs or custom mobs, it may work for you just fine. But if you're using citizens beware.. It does not support them. The tutorials are lacking information and there are no videos from other souces at this time to show you how to use this. I love your plugin :D but theres one thing... Is there a way that when people join the dungeon they have there inventory from before they entered?

At first I thought the plugin was complicated and hard to use, nothing made sense, and I was almost about to give up on it. (At the time the Wiki was half empty) but after a little time, and some more information on the wiki, everything started to make sense, and I realised how great of a tool this plugin is, you can do SO MUCH with it!

The only big thing that I will point out is the documentation. The documenation you have made is great, and really useful, but there is missing a lot, and I think people find it hard to use the plugin without a full documenation. :)

BTW. I cant seem to find any documention on the KeepInventoryOnEnter value, maybe im just blind, but I have no clue how to make the plugin use the same Inventory as the mainworld, i'm pretty sure it has something to do with the config.yml in the maps folder, but I have no clue how to set that config file up.. I hope you can help.

Indeed, keepInventoryOnEnter is a game rule you can either set to true or false in the floor configuration (map/config.yml). https://github.com/DRE2N/DungeonsXL/wiki/floor-configuration
Also make sure to have a look at the other keepInventory rules, the default values are meant to work with keepInventoryOnEnter: false. Thank you for your review :)

Having an issue with the [CMD]. Using the trigger "D 5" does work but it constantly spams the same command.
Tried a work it using Trigger signs. Doesn't work. It doesn't trigger the [CMD] sign.

Hi Staniel. I'm using your very great plugin Dungeon XL. I think it is very easy to understand and we could do amazing things with it.

But i've some troubles and i hope you could help me.
I have try the actual version for Spigot and your snapshot 0.12 build #15 to compare, problems are the same.

When someone left a Dungeon, the inventory of the player is empty even if he is in game mode 1. In game mode 0, all players loose there stuff.
I've look inside the playerSave.yml file and all the save are good. We could see the stuff of the player before he goes through the portal in playerSave.yml . Despite, it's impossible to get it back :s

The last problem is that i don't understand how to remove properly the DXL signs in my main world. Have you some clues?

Hi, the main world DXL signs (and portals) can easily removed with the /dxl break command that allows you to destroy them like any other block. The other problem is probably either an incompatibility or a misconception with the keepInventory setup. Would you open an issue at Github containing the details about what happens and your setup?

Thank you :) Of course, that's possible - a dungeon map is just a map like any other map. Just move the map you want to use to plugins/DungeonsXL/maps and DXL will recognize it. Make sure that there are no spaces in the map name because /dxl edit and /dxl play assume that the space marks the beginning of a new argument.

Creating one is as simple as creating a dungeon configuration. You can then join an MFD with /dxl play d [dungeon] or with a group sign with the + attribute ;)

Very neat idea and I look forward to seeing the finished product. There are many bugs that will probably be worked out in future versions, but the biggest missing feature is a lack of permission nodes that cover multiple areas of the plugin. Simply using dxl.* does not give a group all of the DungeonXL commands to use.
