always one of the better rank control mods. Any chance of getting an update for 1.21.4?

Plugin works on latest releases but it appears abandoned and can be complicated to configure. I've switched to CMI's rankup system instead.

Amazing plugin, works wonderfully with LuckPerms. If you are confused on configuring, go to his Wiki! It's very clear and concise, makes it much easier to set up and is more customizable than it may seem.

Ive used this plugin on and off for like 8 years now, and its just unnecessarily complicated. The documentation is quite extensive, but no server owner sets out to spend hours reading and learning about what should be a simple little plugin that bumps you up a rank when you play a certain amount of hours or do a different task.

Its just not worth the time and effort. Im to the point where time is money and this plugin has cost me thousands of dollars at this point in my life, coming back to MC server ownership and attempting to get the most basic functionality out of this and having so many issues.

Id literally pay $20 for a version of this that doesnt force me to devote my life to understanding this.

I havent even seen any changes in this plugin or how its complicated nature is explained, in fact I know it hasnt been changed, youre looking at the same explanation as you would have 8 years ago. No effort put into explaining things in plain English.

Youre lucky I even gave this 2 stars because I cant get basic functionality out of it once again and this will be the last time I ever attempt to use this plugin.

This plugin works amazingly! When I had issues configuring the path.yml folder, I asked for help in the discord server they have and a dev was able to help me and get the issue fixed quickly! While it may be a bit on the complex side, it does it's job perfectly :D 10/10 !!

I am really amazed with what this plugin has to offer, not to say it works perfectly and performance of the server is not impacted at all.

If you're running on Paper 1.17.x w/ Java 17 using MySQL, expect console spam and devs seems not to care or inactive for such an urgent issue (it fills up your console, spanned over hundred of MBs wasted)

only issue i have ran into with this. is after 3 path auto promoting. it disables active pathing and have to manually assign paths to all my players even though its a near copy of previous ranks

Great plugin, well coded. But I think that is too time oriented. Other requirements aren't user-friendly. UUID online/offline handle feature as well useless and full duplicate to bukkit API solution. Database handle is unsecure like... VERY UNSAFE AT ALL, and many duplicated data is present, like uuid storage, also can be optimized. Many things that need enhancement.

I love the plugin! It's the best, most amazing complex rank plugin there is out there if you wanna do something really advanced with ranks! One issue I have, and it's really not even an issue, is that it keeps trying to hook into towny spamming my console with dependency errors for towny when I don't have towny. Thank you!

Sorry to say it, but this is a really bad plugin. LuckPerms not working with it (doesn’t even list LuckPerms in its hooks). It was not possible to add my default path. Also, when Statz is not installed, it spams the OP with warnings in chat. Really not good enough. I recommend the paid version of RankUp – that actually works well.

Tried this using LuckPerms and it wouldn't work. Time played does not register using /ar info <player> even though there's an active path, and no response from the dev in recent reviews either. Please update this plugin and fix bugs issued by other players as well.

Can you make the requirements section reset completely, ie when a player completes a task, the task will be reset like new when the player leveled up the next rank?,
which means that the quest at the next rank will be like never been done before.

Not a lot of documentation examples for the Paths.yml. I really liked the old AutoRank. I can't figure out how to get LuckPerms Track to work with the Paths.yml syntax.

This was built for PEX, so if you have that, you should be good to go. For the rest of us, its kind of a headache

TL;DR: It was a great plugin, until it stopped functioning properly and trying to get ahold of the plugin dev is damn near impossible.

I've been using this plugin for almost 2 years now. It's a fantastic plugin. Does exactly what I want it to do, simple to use, coded well. I started using it I think in 1.11, and I've been using it since and upgrading with no problems, using the same files that I've been using, and when I switched to 1.15 and upgraded the plugin, that's when the problems arose.

All of the files that contained players' playtime vanished. All of the backups that the plugin automatically created also vanished. This was over 1 year of playtime for every player who joined the server, all of it gone. This was a serious problem. I only do full server backups for the world because I home host and don't have enough money for lots of storage, and it was appealing that the plugin automatically created backups, but due to this issue, I lost all of the important files completely out of the blue.

I joined their Discord server and explained my issue. The plugin Dev, Staartvin, did respond to me and said that he didn't know of the issue, and told me that the plugin does not have the ability to delete the files. I found it very odd since no other plugin suffered data loss, so it wouldn't make sense for this to have been caused by something else.

This affirmed that this problem wasn't a fluke caused by my server, and that this is an issue that has happened before to other people. This is a pretty large issue, and I tagged him a few times on the Discord server but got no response.

I started to restore the playtime to the best of my ability, by creating a file, where I looked at each players ranks and gave them the minimum amount of playtime for that rank (since my system was that you get a new rank w/ perks after a certain amount of playtime). It's not a perfect fix since players would still lose playtime, but it was good enough since the files are now gone.

I wanted to use the /ar import feature, but as I found out, that is also broken! This was also confirmed by another player on the Discord server that /ar import was not working. I tried it, and it would import about half of the file, but then reset the file after a restart anyway. So it was useless. The plugin was still deleting files after seemingly every restart, and the import feature isn't even working properly.

After tagging Staartvin on multiple occasions and explaining my issue, I still did not get a response. My server has been down for over 1 month and the problem is not anywhere near fixed, so now I'll have to look for a new autorank plugin and hope that it can offer at least half of the functionality that this one did.

Overall I'm very disappointed. I will say that, when I was getting responses from him, Staartvin was very nice and understanding. I do think he is a good guy, but I find it pretty annoying that I'm not getting any responses from him on the Discord server, about a bug that is basically making the plugin unusable for me. I'd be willing to remove my review if these bugs are fixed, my Discord is Cam#1499.

im using AR 4.3.2 and im wondering that where the advanced config.yml and simple config.yml were.then i have got a paths.yml instead. So how can i convert paths.yml to those apart files ?

I was stuck on AutoRank 3.4-Dev-355 because I've encountered many issues with newer versions of AutoRank since Paths replaced AdvancedConfig.

I had problems with AR 4.x because AFK would not register correctly and since all of those years, it was due from an antiAFK plugin that registered as an AFK manager or somesort that prevented EssX to report AFK players to AutoRank. This is solved!!

Had issues while using MySQL as primary storage provider, like -1 times when a new player comes in, this is solved in 4.3.1! Memory issues, Solved! Leaderboard console errors, Solved!

Now thinking now with AR 4.3.1, I'm not looking back at AR 3.4 like I used it before, so I'm very happy to use this version!

The last good working version for me is 4.1 - all of the newer ones just simply do not load / work at all! Please, start back at 4.1 and update that version to 1.14.4 ! For now, its usable to count player online times, but auto rankup seems to be defective.

Something that basic such as removing users from a path is completely out of the reach of the plugin. If your users have 2 accidental paths to two different ranks in your permissions system, what do you do? You remove the lowest path, right? Wrong. You can't.

And it's really stupid the way commands work. There's this essential command that your users need to see exactly how much they've progressed with the path, but it also shows it everything. I mean EVERYTHING. I don't want my users to see which commands execute when they complete the path.

Its terrible than old version.

do a lot of jobs and binded on a lot of requirement. can be costumised a lot and when i say a lot its like a full blank page where you need to spend your week long to code it for 30 rank.... i mean its realy not for someone want to plug press some button and play. but if you want something working and complete i recommand it has well. just can i suggest to rework your wiki? its kinda a mess when you are trying to find some info and exemple or a list of option we can use. i never saw something missing this much of stuff but getting a lot of stuff too. real maze for the prob and japaness language for noob!

WHY would you take something so simple to use and destroy it? The previous system worked PERFECTLY! 2 MONTHS I've tried to create a path this program would recognize, and it just keeps giving me error messages and not recognizing the config file I create. If there were any other autorank programs I'd run to one of them, unfortunately, there aren't! Please, PLEASE, go back to the simple config.

It may have been a rollercoaster without safety belts. but in the end. This is the only plugin I would want to use. There simply is nothing else with this many features.

But, backups are here to the rescue. At least in my case. Other's do not always have that luxury.

times of /ar check /ar times and /ar top show different time.
example. if /ar check says i have 20 days, /ar top shows 19 days.
then randomly the leaderboard updates. and shows that i have 20 days. so i run /ar check and it shows 19 days...
the times are so messed up, when i updated to 4.2.3 it reset ALL of my players times without asking.

had originally used Statz for tracking, but AR decided to unlink from it, even though it says its using it on server startup.

now the Statz time is messed up as well (shows 10 days)

most players say to just use 4.1 instead

I've been using Autorank for a few years now and updated to 4.0 when it was first released. I hated it in the beginning, and I still hate it now. I wanted a plugin that would automatically rank players up based on time, and ever since 4.0 this plugin has been trying to way too much and hasn't done any of it very well. The configurations are absolutely terrible to navigate. Regardless of whether there is a wiki, the configs suck. One of my biggest issues with 4.0 is that it basically FORCES "paths" on you. Even if you configure it to be as automatic as possible, players still get messages such as "You have automatically been assigned the path <>". All I want this plugin to do is check a player's rank, see if they meet the time requirement to move to the next rank, and move them to that rank if they do. I don't want any feedback and I don't want the players to do any commands!

Guys this plugin is great. It's very configurable and works just fine for me on 1.12.2. If you have any trouble then you probably didn't read everything here. If you did and you are still having trouble then ask for help. Don't leave bad reviews on a great plugin just because your'e lazy. I had trouble at first too then I asked for help in the discussion. Haven't had any problems since. Thanks for all your hard work!

I personally would never want a 1-star on one of my plugins, but this is extremely confusing and I preferred the v3 version, configuring this plugin gives you a programmer's vibe, kinda feels like you're trying to figure out things rather than simply put things together.

One of the most complicated config files I've ever stumbled upon, would totally NOT recommend for starters.

Developer needs to update the Overview page : it is lacking obvious installation instructions, paths file templates, and mandatory "soft" dependencies such as PluginLibrary and Statz; which are creating a TON of confusion.

Otherwise, THIS PLUGIN WORKS PERFECTLY ON 1.12.2!!! If you have any questions about your paths file, contact me directly for an example to follow.

Works well, except I must be doing something wrong; when i attempt to use the "blocks placed" or "blocks broken" in the paths config, players stats or statz are not showing up when the do /ar track [req. #]. The value shows -1 of whatever# for both stats.

Once I figured out that the 'path' is the rank you want your players to have on your server, it was just as easy as before the huge update. Sidious82 has pasted an example in the discussion that will REALLY helped me out. Could 'auto choose: true' be default though? Thank you again for all your hard work and dedication to this plugin!

Good concept, poor execution. You really shouldn't have released the a beta version that changed so many things. It should have been a different plugin instead. I'm going back to 3.8.5

Way to complicated to use. The configuation worked much better before, and was way easier to understand. The changes that has been made lately regarding configuration are terrible and should never been done. The tutorial is not good either. The video is outdated, and the updated text-version is just not very informative on all the possibilities this plugin has and how to use them.

I have used this plugin for so long. Recently the plugin became so complex there was no need for it. Developers kind of ruined the plugin unfortunately.

This plugin might be good, but the "Tutorial" video IS SO OUTDATED! The Config looks COMPLETE different, how do i use this?! I dont know, there is no example config published or similar, please anyone got a example config?

The idea behind it is very good! We will admit! We have no problem with the path.yml! In our eyes that is an advancement! Although, we havn't been able to figure it out since the Wiki is messy/hard to understand!

The fault may be with us, since we run on 1.12.1 and that causes some problems! We run our ranking system with Pex, which doesn't work well with the built-in group trigger/result. Instead we use the command trigger/result. The problem is, it doesn't seem to activate the commands! We have tried a lot of things, but it won't work!

We don't believe the problem is with out plugins, since we created a test server, and the problem was still there. We will look for alternatives to this plugin!

New versions are too un-friendly to set up and use. Older versions have better formatting, easier to configure, and much easier for players to use.

The new path.yml is a lot more complicated the simple and advanced configs from before were a lot more user friendly. I would prefer the way it was with the previous set up.

Didn't get on with 4.0.7 at all. 3.7 appears to work fine for me.

(particularly choosing paths etc) is a bit convoluted for my needs, and seemed to only hinder what I was trying to achieve. That said i can certainly see the potential uses behind it, RPG servers definitely would benefit from it.

Now new version just make a bit hassle and tedious.
Instead of automatically rankup, they make use of "choosing" path.
Its very great for RPG server, but its not great for some server who previously used autorank and expecting to be rankup automatically.

Instead, you need to manually choose the rankup, and type bunch of overlong prereqs command. Your /ar choose, and /ar prereqs are players nightmare.

1/5, use old Autorank 3.7 back. Its the best version you can get.

I literally cannot even modify the default path "test path" , like adding a new command, without the plugin crashing! There's literally NO FORMAT described in your wiki...

In the default test path that comes loaded you show tabbing with 2 spaces... and values are right next to requirement...yet your documentation shows 4 space tabbing and values of a requirement are set to value of a requirement....

This isn't about understanding it, I find it easy to grasp. But when you can't stick to a format, bleh! Forget it!

This version is terrible. I had to download an older version because your new set up has became so convoluted that I cannot get it to work at all.
I downloaded 3.8.5.1 and it is a whole lot easier.
You should've never gone with the "upgrade" if that is what you want to call it.
You should have stuck to what you had to make it really easy for people to understand and not what you currently have.

So i have been trying to talk with the author for awhile now and still no response. I have been trying to figure out why players are not ranking up, and still nothing from the author. Will change rating if I finally get help, but for now I would not recommend this plugin to anyone.

Idk (feerko)- if it dont work to go across your bungee, then do it per server it works just fine, why would you want the same configuration on each server you run? that makes no sense! great plugin, just a bit hard to get the paths to work right lol but keep up the good work! also in your documentation it does not show how it would look in your paths if a player kills mobs or player kills only things like blocks broke money mcmmo skill where this is good, "full" documentation on a full path lay out would help! but i like to use my brain unlike some people.

Auto rank is working very well. Its a great way for players to advance. I am however getting an error that with requirement "has achievement"

Amazing plugin. Dev answers within an hour. No bugs, easy to configure. There are alot of pages that will guide you how to set things up.

By far the only and true Autorank plugin out there, and the best part is the Dev is very active and helps out every time!

Autorank is decent itself, but the fact that you need to download other plugins from the author (which is useless in my case) to get certain stuff like AFK intergation to work. It worked before without Statz. So now he changed it so that you need to download Statz which spams
''INFO]: [Statz debug] Save Statz database.''
Every 10 sec in your console. Wont recommend other people to use this since you need to download two plugins to make one work. The thing is that he disabled a feature in AutoRank so more people would download his other plugin.

Giving it 5 stars, it is amazing! I would prefer the previous version but this one works amazingly! Pretty confusing config too but I can figure it out!

I'm really starting to lose faith in this plugin and developer. The plugin is far too complicated now and can no longer complete the simple task of promoting players on a linear path of ranks based on playtime. It now requires manually choosing paths, completing various tasks, and tracking every statistic possible. The configuration is far more complicated then it needs to be, and many of the features are outright broken in these beta updates.

I attempted to contact the dev on January 30th regarding the troubles I was having and never got a response.

Awesome plugin! It can be used for great things. Easy to set up, and great support from the developer.

Staartvin is a super nice dev who is very helpful. He helped me to set it up and it's pretty easy once you get the hang on it. He's made us all a great wiki which very helpful. Really good plugin. To be honest, for a while I wanted to leave 2 stars too. But then I realized that I was wrong, and the 3 other reviews are wrong.
It's like with the iOS 7, when Apple changed the way to close apps. I knew so much people that did not liked that way, but with the time they realized that was better.
I think that with Autorank it's the same. This version is so much better than the old, only changed a bit the way to config it. It has new options, not only linear ranking system.
They says that it's complicated only because they are accustomed to the old config. But it's easy to config. If they were new to the plugin, they would not say that.

It's a good Plugin, I've always used it... However, it seems to no longer (easily) support my Server's method of ranking people up. On my Server, Players rank up simply by playing... when they reach a specific time played, they get promoted to the next rank in the system.

With the new update though... it seems that every time you complete a Path (rank), you have to manually choose the next rank with "/ar choose RankName", but when you do "/ar view list", it shows every path on the system, even if the rank isn't available for them. I have 21 ranks on my Server and I don't want my Players to have to route 21 different Paths to find their next one.

Maybe make it so unavailable paths (due to prerequisites not being met) aren't visible in the Path list?

I may be going about this the wrong way... I used to use the simpleconfig.yml and that isn't available anymore so this advanced version is all new to me. Here's a pastebin example of how I tried to convert my old simpleconfig into the new format:

I think I'm using Autorank for about 2,5 years now and I can't say anything else but this is one of my favorite plugins. You can configure the plugin just the way you want it to. So everyone can use this plugin. I really love it. Thanks!

Good plugin overall, though would be better and more beneficial to me if you added Enjin DonationCraft variables so you are able to make it so if a player donates a certain amount to your donation store, you're able to make the rankup in donation ranks by how much they donate.
For example, if there was [Donor] rank which is for players that have donated $1-$10 and [VIP] for players that have donated $11-20 and "Steve" a player donates for $5 of perks, he gets [Donor] rank and not [VIP] rank but when donates more for $10 of perks, he gets [VIP] rank.

Some people gets to the top of the ranklist with some kind of bug/glitch fix this please! Some player has 1-2hours and on the top of the list where he should get 160hours to get there! Tried enabling deranking, reseting datas for him didnt worked and he jumped back to the top! Fix this please, thank you!

Very good plugin that allow you to put the objetives that you want. There are so much options to config, and that is a very good thing.

One of the best plugins i've seen, has everything I can imagine with the constant updates of bug fixing! This is one of the only plugin I give 5 star out of hundreds I've reviewed.

Overall amazing plugin, the Statz generates HUGE files and the MySQL for it doesnt work properly, when I tried using AutoRank to count in game time it didn't work either, if you fix the timer to work Im gonna 5 star it :)

Working brilliantly! Players like having the option to check when they will next rank up and Statz has turned out to be really handy for some other things too so good work devs!

Iv'e used this plugin before and its good but I'm having a couple issues

1) Pex support really needs to be added. Group manager has been left to die and it's only a matter of time before it stops working entirely

2) The config says that in order to tracks a lot of stuff the stats plugin needs to be added. Does vote tracking absolutely require stats or was that a typo and it's supposed to be Statz?

Yeah you need to add PEX ..... I had a lot of trouble setting it up and found out that it only works with GroupManager which is odd since the majority of people use PEX

This plugin is useless to me as it only supports GroupManager and I've tried using PEX and it doesn't work.
It doesn't show an error on startup, neither does it show up when I put in the autorank command.

Here an example: If a player isn't online since 1 month he looses ontime so that he will be downranked.

not working.. the plugin disable itself everytime i start the server because "Vault is missing".. but i've Vault installed and running on the server (latest version)..
