AnimalTamerPlus - Tame Any Vanilla Mob! (Respawn, Inventory & AI) BETA -----

Tame Everything. Train Anything.

Key Features

  • Tame (Almost) Any Vanilla Mob: Tame Zombies, Skeletons, Creepers, Pigs, Cows, Foxes, and virtually any vanilla mob. (The config even supports adding modded mobs if your server has them!)

  • NEW! Taming Mode: To prevent conflicts with vanilla breeding, you must now type /tame to activate "Taming Mode." Only while this mode is active can you tame new pets.

  • Full Combat AI:
    • Protect Mode: Pets automatically attack any mob that damages you.

    • Assist Mode: Pets automatically attack the mob you are attacking.

    • Hostile AI Fixed: Tamed hostile mobs (like Witches, Skeletons) will no longer attack random players.

    • NEW! Chicken "Burst-Fire" AI: Tamed Chickens now fire a 3-egg burst at their target every 3 seconds, applying armor-ignoring knockback!
  • Pet Respawn System:
    • Your pets can't die! When a pet's health reaches zero, it enters "respawn mode" and will teleport back to you after a configurable delay (Default: 5 minutes).

    • Death-Loop Fixed: "Dead" (respawning) pets now have their hitboxes completely disabled and cannot be killed again while waiting to respawn.

    • Configurable Glow: You can now disable the glowing effect for respawning pets in the config.yml.
  • Pet Inventory & Equipment:
    • Shift + Right-click your pet to open its virtual inventory (size is configurable per mob type!).

    • Equip your pets with Armor, Helmets, and Weapons. The stats (Armor, Attack Damage) are automatically applied to your pet!

    • Give your pet a Saddle in its GUI to make it rideable (Pigs, Striders, Horses, etc.).
  • Custom Naming System: Upon taming a new pet (while in Taming Mode), you will be prompted in chat to give it a name. Your next chat message becomes the pet's name (supports color codes &).

  • Configurable Pet Limit: By default, players can only own 1 pet at a time (configurable in config.yml) to maintain server balance.

  • Behavior Control:
    • Follow/Sit Mode: Right-click your pet with an empty hand to toggle between FOLLOWING (follows you and fights) and SITTING (stays put).

    • Safe Creepers: Tamed Creepers WILL NOT explode, ever!

Controls & Commands

Controls:

  • Tame: Type /tame. While Taming Mode is active, Right-click a mob with its required taming item.

  • Breeding: Works just like vanilla! (e.g., feed Wheat to two Cows). Taming Mode does not block breeding.

  • Toggle Mode: Right-click (empty hand) to switch between FOLLOWING and SITTING.

  • Open Inventory: Shift + Right-click to open the pet's GUI.
Commands:

  • /pethelp (Alias: /tamerhelp): Shows this help menu and all commands.

  • /tame (Alias: /pet): Activates Taming Mode for a short time (default: 60 seconds).

  • /petsummon (Alias: /petcall): Summons all your loaded pets (across all worlds) to your location. Will not summon "dead" pets.

  • /byepet <name>: Permanently dismisses (deletes) your pet. This is the only way a pet can "die" permanently. When used, the pet will drop its full inventory.

⚙️ Full Configuration

This plugin is 100% customizable. Almost all values are controlled through our config files.

  • config.yml:
    • Control general settings like max-pets-per-player, respawn-time-seconds, taming-mode-duration-seconds, and glowing-on-respawn.

    • Customize every message in the plugin.

    • Define the Taming Item for every vanilla mob in the tameables: section.
  • stats.yml:
    • Your "Excel spreadsheet" for balancing!

    • Set the base max-health, attack-damage, and inventory-size for every single mob type individually.
We are actively looking for feedback on balancing and new features!
