it's a great plugin, but I'd love to see the ability to add commands that would run when a line starts, a checkpoint is entered or when player finishes/leaves a course

This is a way to have any custom race game you want to build in Minecraft, and make it functional. Non-technical players can build a parkour, a course with ice boats, a donkey race, or hoops to fly through with elytra, and this plugin does everything I can think of needing. In fact, (full disclosure) I know that the developer made this plugin after years of making these things happen using vanilla commands (lots of work). The plugin is so much easier and totally effective. I can especially see it being used for Let's Play videos, on servers where players may want to start an in-game race contest manually.

Our server in particular uses the feature that ignores previous winners from winning multiple races, for public events we hold. This makes our live events a lot more fun for everyone, since without it, the same people tend to win every game. Instead of asking those people not to participate, they can play, but others can still get "first place".

We stress tested the plugin before reviewing it, with dozens of players racing at once, and found that it does not contribute significantly to server load! So excited to use it for our events going forward.
