MagmaGuy has created something amazing here. I was blown away by the ingenuity and how easy it is to make it work. By easy I mean there is still a lot to learn if you want to tweak it to your and your player base's liking, but the time you save by using the extensive pre-made content (even the free content alone) makes up for it, and you can still add your own content later. The basic setup is stupidly simple. Pretty much just drag + drop and click to activate.

The AI support on his discord is of great use with the common questions, and if it's clueless every once in a while, you can always talk to friendly people.

I highly recommend using his other plug-ins to seamlessly optimize the experience. And watch the vids! They are long, but they give so much great information.

Good plugin, however the plugin says I’m not up to date despite having the latest version downloaded.
I can’t figure out how to remove already placed NPCs so it’s a bit annoying. And there is an anti-exoite that activates for not much, it’s quite a pity.

This plugin is awesome! Adds a whole new level of fun to Minecraft without ruining the vanilla feel. I do have a reaaaallly simple question though. Do EliteMobs really spawn anywhere or do they spawn similar to normal mobs? For example, if I were to fill the area around my base with torches or glowstone, will it prevent them from spawning? I know I can prevent them from spawning in certain areas with WorldGuard but I'd like to know if I can just fill the area with light so that I don't have to as it feels to "cheaty".

10/10 This plugin is a must for all survival servers that want solid RPG elements! Love this plugin and even downloaded all the dungeons from the patreon!

Really fun and exciting game play. A bunch of free content available. Just hope the premium ones would be more affordable and also hope it would officially support 1.20.1 soon, the plugin works fine on 1.20.1 but it just feels odd to see the "unsupported" output each time the server starts.

The strongest bug that i found is when the super chicken drop a egg that hoppers cant insert it i hope you can fix this item bug lovely work.

"Great as a Standalone; Far Too Rigid as an Addition"

The way the plugin presents itself is an all-in-one package that will create new experiences that will enable server owners to thrust their communities into an RPG world that mainly relies on its proprietary system.

Server owners who have little to no experience with managing RPG-like experiences will be glad to know that not only is the setup made easy through a simple in-game GUI (with one command!) but has a Discord community where you can communicate with the devs and other community volunteers to help you.

The documentation for the plugin is remarkable; the official Wiki of the plugin contains multiple "Quick Start"-like guides, making it as easy as possible for newcomers to get their EliteMobs instance up and running. The documentation is easy to read and includes examples for anyone to copy-and-paste or "learn through application."

It has multiple functions that range from as simple as making a custom boss to having an entire questing and leveling system—all done within EliteMobs.

The icing on the cake is its WebApp; it empowers the server owner who is not comfortable messing with text editors and formatting to create equally powerful custom mobs, items, NPCs, wormholes, dungeons, and more. This, paired with the extensive documentation, makes it an excellent standalone all-in-one package for a server's RPG experience.

However, with all the benefits that come with being a full-featured package brings with it its own string of messes as well.

For starters, the structure of the plugin was built with it being a monolith; the grounding and structure of the plugin was for it to be a "solution for everything RPG" which leads to the first major negative point of this plugin: lack of modularity.

It is safe to assume that not all servers are willing to "place all their eggs in one basket" so to speak, and so utilize a variety of plugins to help enhance the players' experience. Unfortunately, with its monolithic design, it simply did not have in mind to enable server administrators to have the ability to shut off "modules." What's worse, the plugin has hard coded some of the files in the plugin deployment and has enabled all of these by default. Truly, as a standalone product, this would be the right move, but customization becomes a fight against the monolithic design rather than a fun project of creating your own bosses or items, for instance.

An instance of good modularization exists in competing RPG products.

Server owners who want it for only a specific part of it are cautioned to expect resistance (about 200+ files of manual editing of isEnabled from true to false) from the monolith.

I am leaving this rating and review as I believe there are others out there who might want this plugin for a specific part and not the entire standalone package.

The plugin, overall, is a well-made product with a well-thought progression, instancing dungeons, as well as a quest system that rivals competing products. The documentation and the WebApp is a killer combo that would make a lot of server administrators' lives easier. The Discord community is large enough that you can request help from other members as well as the developers themselves.

I can't believe it's a free plugin, it integrates so many features, you can create an entire dungeon with just one plugin, and the author's work is worth the money, great author, great plugin.

I'd give magmaguy a 10/5 if possible. This plugin is amazing. As a standalone plugin it's practically its own extensive gamemode. There's tons of fun content and tons of regular updates/new content. This dev is insane. He offers by far the best support on his discord, fast response and is always able to help me sort out any problem I may have. Any bugs that are found and reported he fixes them asap.

Honestly, thanks MagmaGuy for the great plugin this one is. It has almost singlehandedly made our yearly minecraft server last more than 3 weeks, to be accurate, it has lasted now for 4 months. All of my group of friends has thoroughly enjoyed the variety this plugin brings to an SMP modded server. Also, server performance has been pretty solid on an 8 year old i7 4510U sku cpu powered laptop running the server with 4GB of ram.

So much more than just leveled mobs.
This plugin also has a load of premium and free side content such as dungeons and mob models!

Start from the custom mobs that not even close to easy (without the custom equipment) its give me some fun and the elite coin system that prety hard to get, that makes play with this plugin has something to reach and the dungeon are impressive for me personally, then if i can request for some feature may be some texture for the mobs and boss so it will looks perfect, anyways i hope for the future update too.

All I can say is wow and wow. This plugin just keeps getting better and better. More dungeons, lairs, arenas, more bosses, more options..... I could go on and on, but you get the idea, have a read of what it can do for your server.

I'll admit, I was a little confused when I first found this plugin as to what exactly it was, although intrigued - so I went ahead and gave it a shot.

Boy, let me tell you, I have not been disappointed in the slightest. My players love this plugin. Some of my users were skeptical, but with a few days of testing, configuration, and customizing some of the configurable options, I have fallen in love with this plugin and so have my playrs. I've hardly had a chance to dive into it myself, but I'm aware of how it works, what it offers, and how it can benefit those looking to enhance their Minecraft experience.

Pros:

A full-fledged, plug & play dungeon, lair, and added-mobs system. This can fit right into most survival servers, likely without issue. You will need to configure things a tiny bit to your liking, such as removing certain powers, certain mobs from having elite variants, etc. although it is incredibly easy to do, and worth it.

100% Plug & Play dungeons, lairs, bosses, etc. - When loading in a pre-made dungeon or a lair (all of the ones advertised here), the WorldGuard region is already made for you around the structure or in the dungeon world - you don't really have to do anything, except reload the plugin to ensure portals spawn where they are supposed to.

An overall enhanced PVE experience, with pursuing dungeons, lairs, etc. being optional - those who do not wish to interact with them do not have to, besides the occasional elite mob battle that spawns around them, which usually are not too difficult, as this plugin scales the elites' difficulties to each player's level.
A perfect addition to any server that doesn't want to stray too far from a vanilla experience - but wants the option to do more in their server, battle more difficult mobs, or fully dive into the custom worlds, lairs, adventures, etc.

Near-constant, and immediate support from the developer himself in his Discord server. He knows what he is doing, gives fast, simple responses, and will help you with any issues, questions, etc. that you have. He treats patrons, non-patrons, etc. all the same, and helps everyone who needs help with the plugin.

Cons:

Though totally fair, hardly a con, and VERY WORTH paying for, some of the add-ons are premium and cost a small fee. You can get all of them via the authors patreon, or by buying them on the itch.io page for around 5 bucks.
^ This isn't particularly a con, but for those budgeting, it can be a downside
However: about 50% of dungeons & lairs are completely FREE for download - so not having the funds for the premium ones won't hinder your experience whatsoever!

Overall 10/10 plugin, developer is amazing and continuously works at the plugin, community, etc.

This is easily a paid plugin. But keeping it free and having paid resources for it is a great idea. The mobs are configurable, loot, drop rates. It's all open and easy to figure out once you start diving into the files it has. The community has been picking up and the dungeons keep expanding. It is well worth the money to buy the dungeons too from Magma's Itch.io or even becoming a patreon to support him and have access to more. The discord is the easiest way to get support, even the community offers help.

This plugin also allows custom mobs/dungeons, so you can truly bring it into something more unique/themed for your server. It plays well with Multiverse too, got all my schematics in different worlds. The new portal system that is utilized looks great. The ability to use custom models or disguises is awesome!

Nach fast zwei Monaten Testphase haben wir das Plugin nun vom Server genommen. Bitte beachten Level 5 Elite Patron User haben auch nicht Zugriff auf alle Maps! Die Mobs sind in den Standard Einstellung viel zu überpowered. Einstellung dies zu ändern sind sehr Zeitintensiv. Sprachübersetztungen funtkionieren kaum bis gar nicht ohne das man selber Hand anlegt. Ebenso ist es nicht möglich über Multiverse die erstellten Welten einfach mit /mv import zu importieren, was wiederum Probleme mit MV Inventories schafft. Jede Berechtigung von LWC, oder jedes andere Berechtigungs Plugin, muss einzeln eingetragen werden. Alles händisch zu erledigen... Ihr solltet das Plugin eher auf einem Testserver in Betrieb nehmen und dann entscheiden ob ihr sowas haben wollt!

The plugin is great, but I can't figure out how to install extensions like Catacombs and The Ruins. What should I do? Who can help me?

There are a lot of good things going on in this mod. I like the idea of spawning in mobs with special abilities and I really like the few dungeons that I tried. But there are some pretty significant issues with balancing - gear breaks way too quickly compared to how much you have to grind for it. I constantly get Curse of Binding on my gear, which means that I can effectively never repair it. The best way to progress is via paid dungeon expansions, which themselves have weird scaling issues where you'll take 0 damage in one room but get one-shot in the next.

An excellent resource made by a very kind developer. EliteMobs has a well-integrated feature-packed system which seamlessly introduces a new dimension for players to interact with. I can't imagine what is possible through this plugin's configuration files alone.

Unfortunately my player base has not enjoyed the plugin as much as I used to and I had to shut down my EliteMobs server.
It's still a great plugin, it deserves its good rating and the developer is a really nice and humorous guy in general.

Been using it casually without the dungeons for years. Currently implementing it as a semi main feature on a new server. Loving all the ideas I'm getting now that I am using all the dungeons. Worth the one time fee or the on-going Patreon fee. This man is a work horse. Strives for perfection. Highly active support on Discord. EM is easy to understand, plug and play, for the casual server and high configurability for the 'experienced' server owners.

Honestly, I feel there should be a fee just to use the plugin itself. But I get the business model.

This is an absolutely spectacular plugin for a survival server, and the fact that the base plugin is free means there is no reason not to try it out. I added it to a small but fairly well-established server where, due to other plugins, players were OP against most mobs...EliteMobs just totally reset the survival game in a great way. The best part is the dungeons really feel like levels from an MMO. Highly recommended!

One of the best pre-configured vanilla enhanced mob system out there, though i must sometimes question the developer because he have a tendency to do a "short stream of 12 hours" and he always miraclously only chooses the time where everyone is asleep to stream during coding sessions so no one suggest what they want from the big update he's doing

Honestly blows every other custom mob plugin out the water, I first installed the free maps provided in the discord. I have had no problems with the plugin itself and when asking questions the developer has replied very quickly.

I have paid for the patron and have been surprised at how good the maps are put together and how easy everything is to install.

Plugin works great, love the new updates and features. Support provided on the discord community is AMAZING. I have not had any issues with lag or negative server performance, even tho I have installed every dungeon that has been released. This plugin is a pure work of genius!

Plugin does not work in version 1.16.5. I did a clean install just in case it was with the plugins I used, it still doesn't work. I didn't want to break the points, as I knew the plugin was labor. Please correct this problem.

A great alternative to Mythicmobs, though it can really be called an alternative as this is much more than just a mob customization API.

Pros
-Very easy UI and quick to setup (literally took me 3 minutes to get everything installed and working)
- Author provides dungeons (both free and paid) that are easy to setup and add a lot of fun and variety to a server.
-Simple economy system that can be integrated to other plugins.
-config is highly customizable.
-Offers a questing and progression system seperate to vanilla
- Lots of unique items and item drops which rivals that of MythicMobs Artifacts.
- works well with some mob enhancing plugins (e.g Levelledmobs), although it is not advisable to use many mob enhancing plugins in unison.
-Very well detailed installation guide in video form
- Developer is very active and is quick to respond to questions in discord.
- Dungeon creation is fairly easy, mob allocation is easy in this sense.
- pasted schematics using the menu automatically get configured by wolrdguard, which makes life alot easier.



Cons
- Optimizing plugins occasionally break the npc's in the adventurers hub, though it is easily fixed by reloading the plugin. (note: this is not EliteMobs fault)
- Not as many customization options as Mythicmobs, particularly mobspawner settings.


Genuinely really surprised that this is free as the options that come with this plugin are paid resources in MythicMobs (custom dungeons and artifacts).

Will definitely contribute by making dungeons when I have time.

Single handedly the best mob/boss plugin around because of its ease of use. It is perfect for admins who don't have a lot of time and who don't want to read lengthy manuals to figure out how to make a boss. You can't beat it. Plus...I made one of the custom dungeons, so I'm partially biased...

This is such a great plugin and really adds new life to the game for me! I would recommend buying the patron dungeons via itch, instead of patron, unless you plan to sub for life since you will no longer get updates to the dungeons if your patron sub expires.

This plugin is absolutely fantastic! The procedural generated loot, the dungeons and lairs, the custom mobs. Its all amazing, best RPG style plugin I have seen in a while. Setup is straight forward and easy to do and frankly you don't even need to config anything if you don't want to. Such a great plugin!

OK I have been testing this plugin for 3 days, and I must say that it is spectacular, the best plugin I have seen from Mobs so far. It is true that it is a little complicated to understand at the beginning, but when you understand everything it becomes very easy to configure. Also the developer and the other members of the Discord are always ready to help. Thank you very much for this excellent plugin .

This is the worst plugin I have ever tried. It breaks many other plugins because it sets max health on spigot.yml to an unsafe amount. Do not expect to use this plugin with a custom enchants plugin. Their setup menu is buggy as hell. You can not customize the default GUI without editing the source code. Every part of the plugin is a buggy mess. Their "anti-exploit" measures are very easily bypassable. On top of all these, discord help is nonexistent unless you are a Patron.

This plugin adds leveled mobs. The main feature of this plugin are the dungeons and bosses, it also adds fun random events. All and all, it seamlessly adds a whole butt load of features onto your server, and is definitely a must have especially if you own a survival, or an rpg server.

Made fighting mobs much more exciting with the variety of skills and effects. Occasional bosses and even a guild hub gives it a MMO feel. Lots of customization too. I would like to see if downloadable dungeons could be turned into a structure that could naturally generate like villages.

This plugin is genuinely incredible at what it does. While giving a great new twist to the game that makes even veterans feel like they are enjoying Minecraft for the first time again, it simultaneously keeps the vanilla feel of the game entirely intact, making this mod great for anyone that basically wants Minecraft to be better and more fun.

Adds extra mob fighting and loot mechanics beyond a vanilla experience. Players will grumble when they die. Players will praise when they get good loot. Developer has an active Discord and is constantly improving op and user experience. If you're not adding this plugin to your server you are doing your users a disservice.

Excellent plugin! The developer is on top of it. Make sure that if you need support that you do so through the Discord. Developer is very fast to respond (minutes usually), very polite, and very helpful.

If you're looking for a *very lightly* modified SMP experience, this... isn't really the plugin you should be looking at. If you're looking for a KICKASS SMP+ experience with super mobs, super loot, super quests, super bosses, and super customization (with super support on top), you're right at home. Couple this with mcMMO alone and you already have a legitimately refreshing and fun minecraft survival experience on your hands. 10/10!

As someone who wanted to play Minecraft and is hosting a server after a very long hiatus, this really scratched the itch. The fact that we didn't have to setup everything ourselves to enjoy the plugin shows how well this runs with minimal configuration.

Fantastic plugin Much more even than a plugin, A Game changer. We have it installed on Paper Spigot 195 and it runs wonderfully the Dev Version for 1.14.4 Didn't download the guild world but rather added a location within our spawn. Have a look play-minecraft.us

Put it on the server, tested it thoroughly and concluded it's an awesome plugin that I need on my server!
It adds so much content to a server that it should be a must have for all servers :D

One of the best plugins out there. The dev is incredibly active and listens to his community for all major new features. My players are so focused on this system and the fun new mobs that I have a hard time convincing them to do anything else. This is a must have for any type of server that wants to have a challenging and rewarding experience for PvE players.

This plugin definitely takes mobs to the next level. You can configure next to everything due to the amount of effort the developer has put into it. Although it takes some time to get used to (Especially since he keeps UPDATING IT CONSTANTLY (Which is nice in itself)), you can really make EliteMobs your own.

I wasn't so sure about adding this plugin to my server as I was worried that players might find it too difficult or wouldn't like suddenly having to deal with much stronger mobs. However after a few days all the players say they love it. Thank you so much for making such an amazing plugin that not only is extremely customizable but also runs without me having to change anything!

Adds a challenge and lots of fun and unique items

This is a great plugin for any normal server, looking to add a challenge for all players and add a sense of progression with exciting loot, a built in economy, and adventures to be had.

It's a great plugin for revamping mobs - but that's about all it's useful for. It forces you to use it's economy system, which won't integrate with any other plugin - so you'll essentially have your main economy, and then a SECOND economy - "Battle Coins."

Unless you code it yourself, anyway, this renders Jobs, or gaining normal currency from killing mobs, absolutely useless, unless you use this plugin for a few special or mob bosses - which, if this is the case, I'd recommend MM.

Otherwise, great for it's purpose - revamps mobs.

Now this plugin is more powerful ,configurable and and useful than before.
It totally change the boring vanilla mob mechanics and add many unique functions.

Simply the best custom mobs modification that includes an over the top progression system tied together with custom item loot drops AND an adventures guild. You'd be absolutely out of your mind not to take a look at this great plugin and its rich features. The plugin author is ACTIVE and loves hearing feedback about the new features he continues to drop. I'm a Magmaguy fan and you should be too. It's simply the most polished custom mob plugin out there.
