Please read the changelog before updating. Do not update if you don't know what you are doing
  • BountyHunters is now NMS free. This means it uses Bukkit's persistent data containers instead of direct NBTTags.
    • When updating, all generated items using NBTTags become unusable. This includes : player heads for head hunting and bounty compasses.
  • It is a very important update for BountyHunters. This will make it much easier for me to maintain the plugin. But that does mean dropping support for <1.14
  • Supported Spigot builds are now 1.14-1.19
  • Support for placeholders inside of player messages.

This might be the last update for 1.9-1.13

The next updates will aim at making BountyHunters a version-independant plugin. BH was initially made to be compatible with the widest possible set of Spigot versions but with the development of the new Spigot API it's now possible to keep all the plugin functionalities operating without the use of version-dependant code in any version above 1.14 (at least for now)

Spigot is currently changing so that developers dont have to rely on NMS code hence my decision to discontinue support for versions ante 1.14 (which features data persistence).

This update will make the plugin compatible with future versions of Spigot so that you won't have to wait for me to update the plugin every time a new version of Minecraft is released.

    • Bounty animation = death quote + particle effect
    • That particle effect plays around the killed player whenever claiming a bounty.

Finally back for some updates after a long time.
  • Fixed an issue with hunting players loading crashing the plugin.
    • Hunter data is no longer saved. Players will need to target the player again on server restart.
  • Added native compatibility with 1.16.5 and 1.17 which is of course very experimental at the moment.
  • Fixed an issue with the own-bounty-claiming option.
  • Fixed an issue with bounty reward taxes.

    • cache/leaderboard now also caches the player's name, level, successful bounties count and title.

  • Fixed a compatibility issue with Residence.
  • Changed the way bounties are stored (both YAML and MySQL). This will probably be the last data breaking update, make sure you reset your bounty data database/data.yml config.
    • (This data update is necessary for future options I would like to implement) e.g head hunting where bounties drop the target's head which must be brought back to the creator in order to claim the bounty reward.
  • Added two new flags to disable bounty creation for Residence and WG.
  • Added an option to give the head to the bounty creator when claiming a bounty. If the creator is offline/his inventory is full, he may redeem the head later using /redeembountyheads.
  • Minor message improvements.

  • Bounty Contributors
    • Bounties no longer have a set creator. Any player that adds some money to an existing bounty is considered a contributor.
    • When right clicking the item in the bounties menu, it does not entirelly remove the bounty. It only takes away the cash you put in the bounty.
    • A bounty only expires when everyone has removed their contribution and when no reward is left due to auto-bounties.
    • Admins are still able to create auto-bounties by running the /bounty command via the console.
  • Bounty Editor: you can dynamically edit any current using /bounties edit <player>.
  • Added a permission to be able to remove your contribution from a bounty.
  • Added support for WorldGuard (the bounty-claim flag lets you create regions where you cannot claim bounties). Removed the world-blacklist option.
  • Added support for Residence (same flag).
You need to reset your data.yml config file / bounty data table as well as your main plugin config when updating.
