A user destroyed my house even without having permissions for anything due to the GriefPrevention plugin, yet SmoothTimber allowed him to destroy my house. The setting to supposedly prevent this from happening was enabled and it did nothing.

Thank you for your review,
we're sorry to hear that you had issues with our plugin.

This could possibly be a bug as SmoothTimber shouldn't allow that if GriefPrevention is enabled in the addons.yml (which it is by default).
It could also be however that the mentioned person had the permissions to bypass claims which would mean that they were 100% allowed to use SmoothTimber in that area.

It would be nice if you could provide us with more information on our discord or github so we can resolve your issue :)

i installed this plugin in my class server where we play at the request of a friend. but since the toggle feature was not only player-side, when i turned it off, all my friends were also turned off. so i had to keep it on. and when i broke a piece of wood in my house, my whole house collapsed. damn

it's sad to hear that you encountered such an issue with our plugin.

However we can guarantee that the toggle feature is not for all people on the server but instead for each individual player. If you were using the config.yml in order to turn it off then yes, that is the default state for every player on the server.

Jobs should be compatible with SmoothTimber but requires the server admin to do some configuration work. (for more information please ask on our discord)

For AuraSkills there are currently no plans of adding support for that plugin on SmoothTimbers side, possibly in the future once we don't have so many projects in our pipeline.

next time it would probably help if you just ask or read the description. We do not make a documentation and invest the time into it for fun ;)

This plugin was designed for RealisticWorldGenerator and to work out of the box for it. RWG does have small trees which have fences in them. This was a design-decision.

You are still able to deactivate the chopping of fences in the config, see here: https://wiki.sourcewriters.net/smoothtimber/faq

The FAQ also tells you how to prevent your house from being cut down.

Before writing a review next time, you should always check the documentation or ask on the Discord. Hopefully you are now able to do it right next time :)

Works well so far

Not plug and play, cut a tree next to my animals and all the fences broke down with it.

Had to add ALL wood fences to the exclusion list, now works as expected. Tested several other wood blocks, seems to be all that was missing.

Even credits the player with all blocks broken, works well with McMMo.

9/10, my players like it, and its smooth, but i have a suggestion, sometimes players just wanna real quick mine a bunch of trees with no animation slowing them down, could there be some config option to so i can make it so if players crouch it skips the animation? Currently i use vein miner to simulate this functionality but if the plugin could include this It'd be 10/10, sorry if this isn't really the place for suggestions but you should get the idea

An awesome plugin! The dev team did a phenomenal job with this one. Quick and easy to setup! All the players of my server are happy about how efficient, yet realistic this mod is. Compatible with many other top plugins as well. I also had an issue similar to person0x, where fences would get timbered too, and after reading the dev team's reply to the post, I was able to resolve the issue within seconds. I strongly recommend you check this plugin out!

Love the concept of the plugin, but poorly made. Player-placed logs are registered as "trees" so it will cut all logs down connected together (I lost like half home cause of this issue). Also, there is no reload command which makes it very annoying when having to restart the whole server just to make a change :/

But don't get m wrong plugin is awesome, just poorly made.

If you would read the description or would ask for support you wouldnt need to make rhis review.

Detecting houses is not a easy task and so SmoothTimber uses LogBlock or CoreProtect and checks if a block is placed by a player, if yes it does not cut down the log.

Also it cuts down fences, as they are included in the base-config, as SmoothTimber is initially designed for RWG-Trees which contain Fences.

So if you do not read the wiki or ask our support its your issue. But basically all the issues you had are non-sense and just a lack of reading the description or asking support.

The plugin is pretty good, but I miss two features.
1. Override axe durability - if there isn't "enough axe" to chop the whole tree, just cut one block like when holding the Shift button, or just cut the whole tree and don't leave levitating block, even if the axe durability would be insufficient.
2. Chopping tree only above certain block - like if you cut from 4th block, leave the first three untouched.

So, first of all, we state, that we offer an API. More detailed: For chopping-events and compability with other plugins. You search for a specific feature(Chopping down a tree via api) based on your discord messages, which we just dont offer. But instead of requesting it via a github-issue, like every other normal person would do, you write a 1-star review while telling us, that you bought something else.

And to the fact, that there was no help at all: Our other developer answered you after around 1 hour for a free-plugin.

You should rethink for what reviews are there. The key-feature of smoothtimber is not the offering an api. The key-feature is having a tree-feller-plugin which suits for our plugin RealisticWorldGenerator and most of the servers, which current stats of 1500 servers running SmoothTimber underline. Also SmoothTimber offers pretty much compared to beeing free and we are the last persons, that wouldnt implement requested features. In addition: Cutting down trees per api request at specific locations is nothing, that was ever requested before and so this feature was just not there.

Absolute garbage. I own a semi-public server, and people really liked this plugin, but as soon as someone broke tree near their house, or even a fence on their house, every single piece of wood was destroyed. This was a pain to fix.

Use it together with CoreProtect and you will have no such problems. But we can not just detect houses via this algorithms. This is something we cant do with custom woodcutters.

I was expecting a lot more than what I just downloaded. This seemed like a nice and frequently updated addon, but I faced many of problems when downloading this addon. When I first tried to download this, my computer warns me that the file could be harmful, I just downloaded it anyways. So after that, I launched Minecraft, set the addon up, and I had everything ready to go. When I got in the game, the mod only cut down certain trees. I then finally found a way to fix this problem, but now when I chop the trees down, my game will be very close to crashing or it will crash my whole game. Before I downloaded this addon, Minecraft ran smoothly without lag, I had to remove this addon sadly but it was worth a shot. I'm not sure if I would recommend it to anyone but if I were you I would look for another addon

When you install it without BlockyLog it cant detect player-placed blocks. If you would read or ask rhe developers before just making a bad review you would already know that.

I used this plugin with blockregen and the block is not Regen when used this plugin cut the tree except only one log that player cut other log that fall doesn’t Regen , and I think it good to have kind of this option on config so other plugin like jobs or other can count the log that player cut with this plugin too and it would be more great!

The damage is dealt like on normal wood. For each cutted block the axe gets a damage-point.

I found it, I found the best tree chopping plugin. I'm surprised that it's not paid either; It's that good. The wood falling like sand is a feature that I've never seen in any other plugin or mod. The detection algorithm of what is 1 tree could use more improvement but I imagine that it's hard to write that. Also, leaves falling with the wood would be a welcome feature. Minecraft will slowly delete the leaves though so it's not a huge deal.

Overall a really great plugin.
Sometimes there will be leftovers at the top of the trees, which is a bit annoying. Pickaxes will be left with 0 durability, and cant be used after, but dropping them is still possible.. Leaves is not decaying either.

I like it but like i say you before i hope you will be update it soon and added McMMO support and i hope you can implemented support somehow for FAWE too when in config is this enabled optional i think etc this plugin work perfect but need to be updated. tnx

Good plugin, but add the option in the config to igore user placed logs, because now it destroys the entirely house if you want to remove a misplaced log

such as tree house 1 hit all destroy !
