Updates have been extremely slow for several years now. New features rarely get implemented, and most updates are merely bug fixes or attempts to catch up with existing Minecraft features. Currently, the plugin is slowly trying to integrate features that Mojang implemented in the 1.21 versions released months ago.

While items are customizable, the customization options are too limited. Meanwhile, Crucible is rapidly catching up, implementing features like furniture (which MMOItems doesn't have, though admittedly doesn't need). Additionally, Crucible has implemented more flexible item sets and gem sockets than MMOItems offers.

Crucible receives much faster bug fixes and feature updates compared to MMOItems, which is disappointing considering the MMOItems team has announced "new developers" joining multiple times.

The support is... mediocre. While responsive, the answer to feasibility questions is usually negative. As an interesting observation, Taner, who handles support, has 60,000 messages in the Discord, with 10,000 of those being variations of "no" or "no idea" - which I find rather telling.

I still have hope for this plugin, but honestly, I've been losing faith over the past two years. The plugin is essentially dependent on MythicMobs for meaningful ability usage, and now MythicMobs is developing its own item plugin that rivals MMOItems. The only advantage MMOItems maintains is its more user-friendly GUI interface.

For one of the biggest plugins on the market, with at least 8,000 purchases at €19 each on Spigot alone, I'm disappointed with the current state - but I suppose these things happen.

Will edit if things pick up in pace again.

This plugin is still good, I haven't used it in a long time but when I come back it is still the number 1 choice to use for servers, still easy to use and has enough features for most types of servers.

If you read some bad reviews, don't believe them. You can get support on Discord after verifying your purchase. Support can be slow due to different time zones but you will still receive support so don't worry.

Every time it's the same with these authors. No automatic migration from old versions. Just take it, throw your work in the trash and start all over again, collecting this whole collection of MMO plugins.

MMOItems is lack of localization support on the browse/edit GUI. It makes difficulty to members in my admin team who is not good at English. I read your code. It actually difficult to remove hard-encoded text. But I think that pay attention to localization is still a necessary thing.

In this community, it is difficult to find a dev you can trust and stick with. Jules is one of the good ones. Dev-builds keep coming, issues are addressed, possibilities are considered, and functionality keeps increasing. The discord is there for support, and the plugin does what you'd expect. It is a lifeline plugin for any server owner looking to add MMO mechanics to their Java server. Can't recommend enough!

Taner is such a huge support admin. He's a quick supporter who really helps quickly and accurately, and he's a great guy who makes me think I bought this plug-in well. He's reliable enough to make me buy all the mmo plugs. A must-have server plug-in to buy right away if not. You won't regret it.

Eeee, why ppl get mad when the plugin doesn't work on the version not listed as available? The plugin works with no issue exactly how it's described by the developer here and on the wiki. The only issue I had with it is that my dumb brain can't remember all the stuff that this plugin allows you to do.

Docs are a bit all over the place, and you do have to make do with some of the plugin's internal design decisions, but there's always someone on discord that can answer or suggest an approach.

Great plugin and a must have if you are going into MMOCORE suite. Discord support is good. Developers a little behind time but it does look like things are still on-going. Lots of customization possible if you are savvy enough. It'll be great if most server owners actually learn some basics instead of expecting to be spoon fed all the time.

Plugin has a lot of potential, but the support they offer is a disaster, I reported many errors and they are the help I get is literally 0, write a ticket and wait (until death, I guess), they don't even reply, and the errors are not that complicated and you have to write your own workarounds for their plugin because you won't get help. If you're looking for an extensive plugin, you've come to the right place because a lot of things are bugged and no one does anything about it.

To get the development build, I had to use an external site, but it was very slow.

Use to work great. Stopped working on update to 1.20. No one in discord will help since i can't verify a cell number in discord due to no service area where i live. Even though i paid full price for plugin.

This good plugin also improved a lot but still needs more work but well the plugin is still standing and that's pretty good.

Couldn't fix errors because of Bad and Slow support in Discord, i couldnt even get verified.
I suggest having new staff members for this.

Let me tell you the story of the most incompetent dev team.

at 1 of may 2023 i notice an issue with an event that should work on this plugin, but it just doesnt work. An issue got opened. The one fixing the plugin got the issue fixed but not uploaded, since he cant do it by himself, so we had to wait the actual dev FOR 2 MONTHS.

Ive been told that the fix will be ready for about a week, wich was a lie, that the plugin will be ready soon, a lie too, and in the end the dev just gave me another event wich i cant use instead of the original event, making me waste two months.

At first i gave them 2 stars for the terrible support, but after wasting 2 months waiting for a fix just to see the dev close the issue after two months, not giving me a fix but a different event that i told them i cant use is just like a laugh on my face.

Dont you ever buy this plugin if you want support or just want the plugin to work properly. Im not the only one with issues with the support or problems about the plugin, read other reviews.

I think this plugin is an awesome game changer for ANY server. Even for more experienced devs I think this plugin is an excellent tool and time saver. Also the amount of various features there are that all work so smoothly together is honestly mind blowing how good it is.

I've been using mmoitems + mythiclib for almost 2 years. There was bugs, errors but I can see the dev team are willing to solve reported problems and passionate about introducing unique features (though I don't really use them lol). Recently, many bug fixes and QoL updates have been introduced, which makes me believe that the MMO pack is so far a good RPG suite to have. As a developer, one thing I hope and I've been hoping for a long time is that, the dev team should refactor their code base and rewrite some very old system. For example, a packet-based item lore system should be introduced to allow more flexiable and dynamic lore display. Second, the crafting stations should really have a rewrite to allow more customizations on the GUI, and add compatibility to add custom items from other plugins (e.g., ItemsAdder) as ingredients/output items in the crafting stations

This is the best plugin for items, you can do all, constantly updated, does what it's supposed to do perfectly, and with the compatibility with other plugins the only limit is creativity. I love the endless options you can give to an item. For all issues, support on Discord is very fast to answer you and fix all problems. Definitely recommend! Congrats to the developers.

I've been using this plugin for... Maybe 1 year now? I came from another one who was premium but dropped support and it was outdated. I was afraid this plugin didn't got the same features as the one I previously owned, but it not only has those features, they did have tons of features more.

I mean, the wiki it's perfectly documented and has a lot of inquiries and, if you don't have a solution there, the discord has tons of replied questions if you use the searcher. If you can't find a solution, the discord replied me today.

Asked something at 21:22, got replied 21:23. Of course they might be a bit more late since I got lucky with the staff, but hey, it's support! In another plugins I need to wait days (I wish this were a lie, but sadly I do).

Worth the money? Yes. Along with MMOInventory and MMOCore.

I love mmoitems and mmocore and I've been using them for around 2 years now, lately every update comes with tons of problems for existings configs meaning you have to manually rework them which is not bad at all but sometimes you don't even know and you have to be prepared for every new big update you'll gonna be checking console all the time having to restart some configs to regenerate and compare the new stuff etc. (You get use to it once you're running a server with a lot of plugins and you'll see that there are many other plugins with same issues)

Happened with the last one they released but due lack of info took me some time to update files to the new format or some files. Support can be bad or mid depending on your patience (I don't even bother to ask for help usually wiki has most of the answers of your problems or doubts or sometimes it's just common sense)

Plugin needs more testing before releasing a new big update. I know there are probably a lot of players that will take the opportunity to test new version on existing configs that they already have (including me) like I said exisitng configs are the ones who causes more problems with new features etc.

This does not mean that I am not recommending the plugin, plugin is great and has a tons of uses but you have to be very well prepared for plugins as big as this one, use the tools that they offer you, especially the wiki or you will be annoyed bc your message will disappear in the wave of others asking for help.

plugin is bugged per usual. developers do not test stuff at all. find an alternative or you will spends weeks trying to fix issues they gaslight you into thinking are yours when in reality it's their plugin

A perfect plugin for your RPG Server. A bit confusing at the begining because the content they over is a lot so it needed time to master it. Also there is support called Taner who will always help you ;)

It seems to take a long time to fix a little bug, but I am satisfied. There are not many developers who pursue as good features and new ideas as this one.

The plugin is amazing but there are bugs and the developers are not actively trying to resolve these.

The plugin is not cheap, however, it is really good and let you do many many things... Will change this review to 5 stars once the devs manage to at least update the plugin and try to resolve the existing bugs.

Otherwise, these should be addressed on the description page of the plugin, people buy these plugins for certain features and after purchase, is harsh to realize that these are bugged and you cant use them as they aren't working properly.

Plugin developers are afk and just spam out other plugins rather than fixing bugs in current plugins. There is a memory leak in this one so if you have any spawner eco at all, the plugin will eventually make your server crash. Been a bug for months and they won't fix it!!! :D

The plugin is totally worth the money. There's almost nothing you can't customize to your items, and the support in the discord is good.

I recently purchased MMOItems and was really excited to try out all of the new features it offered. However, after installing the plugin, I encountered numerous bugs and issues that made it completely unplayable. The custom blocks wouldn't render correctly, and many of the item abilities simply didn't work. I hope this gets fixed soon so I can try it out again

Great Plugin, Best plugin for creating amazing MMORPG style gear and materials. There are so many other parts to this series that enhance it beyond belief, but having this plugin will make item creation great for you.

Just make sure you ignore things like bukkit enchants if you use a Chat Plugin.... because bukkit sucks use Digminecraft enchant list instead!

Thank to this plugin ! My server almost got destroy fully just because I have remove a moderator from a abuse guy and he keep comming back with MMOItems using console command. I have a suggestions in gitlab for extend permission like ItemTag would be great but no they just ignore and say setup permission in item ? What ? Because MMOITems is main weapon,armor so I need to give it to moderator but with console command options they can bypass any permission include give them self op, owner rank,...

Been using this plugin for 2yr now, finally got a round to digging deep into it and heavily modding my player experience. The scale and depth of what you can customize is absolutely incredible. I've now spent nearly 300hrs configuring MMOCore with MythicLib, MMOItems all tied into MythicMobs. My server is now becoming the realization of a 3yr dream thanks to the Phoenix Development suite of plugins. Developer is busy but is actively working to deploy bug fixes, refine existing features, and add new content.

Like all of the MMO plugins (Core, Items and Inventory) I can't recommend buying them in their current state. I've tried really hard to be patient, have been developing my current server with them at the core for over 900 hours just praying the whole time that the devs get it together and fix everything, but now I'm not even sure if I can launch because these plugins are absolutely RIDDLED with game breaking bugs that prevent them from being seriously usable on a production server.

There are tons of new issues popping up every day, the discord is absolutely flooded with complaints. I feel bad because the only active support (Bless you Taner) has no option but to ask people reporting bugs to open a github issue so that HOPEFULLY one of the developers will address the issue.

But here's the main problem, the devs either outright IGNORE the issues created, randomly closing them a month+ later with no response or resolution, or they comment "Join discord for support" and close the issue. Like, I just came from discord and was TOLD to open an issue here, now I'm meant to go back just so I can be told to open another github issue?

And then on top of all this, with all of the issues piling up and the developers not paying them any mind, they are showcasing RANDOM garbage features that NOBODY wants (seriously, 3D GUIs? that's a joke right? who wants that?), which means they DO have the time to fix the problems they just choose to spend it on nonsense while ignoring that their plugins are literally falling apart. It's just a sh*t show, and a shame because the core of these plugins all have so much potential.

You wont find another resource as powerful as this. It does so many things for you for item creation. Get it.

I would definitely recommend this plugin! Although there are bugs of this plugin (some of them are really annoying to a strict RPG server), the dev team are actively responsing all of the issues on the issue tracker of this plugin. I can see there is a hard-working and willing-to-help team behind this project. I can also see all the improvements over the past half years. I can feel that the dev team is very passionate about making a unique RPG item system for minecraft servers, instead of just making some fancy advertisement and makes you pay for the plugin and make profits.

I started using MI compiling from their Git repository, but after how amazing is this plugin and the fact is open source helped me understand how to hook it's API into my plugins, i purchased without doubt. The support is pretty amazing.

What is there not to say about this plugin? It's amazing! It's got an insanely powerful GUI and it is super easy to make your own custom items, item sets, and rarities. Perfect for making craftable items and giving your players something to work for.

Not compatible with McMMO, it uses the Minecraft XP system for level based item drops, rather than the various skills or actual overall power level.

Half setup features, Multiple Bugs, being told to test and see what happens when issues do occur as the developer won't test themselves before release, "Support" people are blunt and can be rude.

The wiki (there are two, don't use MythicCrafts!) contains a mis-mash of information, lacking actual examples, which makes it hard to understand what each option is supposed to do.

There is minimal config validation, so YML errors will be the most likely cause of your issues when using this and there won't be any output when this happens.

The plugin works well to generate standard weapons once you get around the above issues and dig through Discord search to find other working examples.

Insanely good and fast support. Huge thanks to Taner especially - helped a ton during my usage of the plugin.

The best. Its just so good. I cant explain how amazing mmoitems is. The author is a genius. Been using this for 3 months. It was rough at first there was certainly a learning curve but it has paid off so very nicely. I also cant believe how flawless mmoitems is. I sometimes think to myself how da heck are there no bugs? Great plug-in. But I don't know how to use properties on mm monster, such as magic damage and defense, which is not seen on wiki.

Overall best plugin out there for making custom items. But ive been waiting weeks to be verified on the mythiccraft website. Cant access dev builds. >:( How hard can it possibly be to verify? Dont u get notified or something?

Well its sad its come to this but i own every plugin this dev makes. they release updates without testing them. the dev confirmed that the plugin is broken on spigotmc but if you go to their website you can download the dev build wich works fine only problem is you need to verify and you cant verify. ive been waiting on verification for over a year. to top things off the head of the development team instead of trying to keep my as a customer told me im out of luck. i told him that id be writing this review and he told me hed put his dick in my but.....totally unprofessional

Please improve the "Item Upgrading" method. That the item can be put together with the upgrade stone in an anvil menu or similar menu.
The "improvement stones" or "improvement mineral" that will be used for the item, must have a chance of success in improvement, for example if the improvement fails it will remove a level from the weapon or it can destroy the weapon but if it results in success, then raise the item one level.
Now that you can use different upgrade stones, you will have a better chance of success.

For now that is what I need, and something strange happens 2 times the server closed and the error did not appear or what is it that it is closing.

I'm really curious about supporters and devs because they don't give support even I purchased these plugins.
Plugins were really good but documents are old and won't update.
Some people asked over 10 times but they still did not get an answer.
I purchased MMOitems, MMOcore on the spigot, and also I bought tons of premium plugins but these plugins were the worst support ever.
When users buying plugin, they wanted priority support not only resources of them. That why paying plugin without using a cracked version.
I read their plugin documents but really short for setup (even some commands did not write on a page like exp-booster parameters)
I'm planning to purchase mythic mobs when I bought mmoitems and mmocore but now I canceled this plan for these reasons.
As I said those plugins are really good but support is really crap.

Great plugin for making Custom or RPG items, opens the possibility for plenty of unique items. It is ridiculously easy to use once you get the hang of it, support on the Discord can take a while, however this is understandable because the developers and help team get a lot of help help requests, would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to make Custom or RPG items.

First off, this plugin is amazing. All MythicMobs plugins are, really. Negative reviews are mostly due to people support piracy or other strange reasons, and not the plugin itself being bad. MMOItems allows near if not limitless item possibilities, and while it can be daunting at first to mess with, it is very in-depth once you get the hang of it and you keep learning new things to add.

Do you want to create items straight from other games? MMOI lets you do it. While it may require lots of work, if you're a dedicated server owner and actually want to make a good server you'll see value in this plugin, even if your server isn't a full on RPG server. (Source: Me, a PvP Earth map server owner)

Just some advice if you do decide to get into MMOI, like most scripting/creation plugins, do not expect support to spoon feed you everything, and try to figure it out with your own brain as well; The support team is very helpful despite that though, and doesn't condescend like other support teams tend to do sometimes even if the questions are obvious and on the wiki from what I've seen.

Switched from Oraxen hoping a better experience, the only good thing was that blocks actually worked but besides that threw constant console errors even after updating. A real headache to get updated as well.

I had a 3-star review before complaining about a few things with the plugin (NBT tags, recipe maker, documentation, discord support). I had the pleasure to talk to Joshua about the concerns and complaints. The support I got from him was very good and unlike any others on spigot.

He supplied me with a better base model to use which I still appreciate a lot. I was too harsh in my previous review then ofc there are tons of good things in MMOitems. The abilities and per item customization is very vast and you can basically change any attribute you would ever need.

The documentation for the plugin is very vast and covers so many features. But sometimes I feel like it gives too little information on the more advanced parts of MMOitems.

I currently have 100 new fruits, ore, armors and tools. All of that combined with a good texture pack and voilà! you just created a whole new experience on a minecraft server.

The new crafting update, along with custom blocks, has made it a dream come true. This plugin with breaker has let me create a FULLY CUSTOM mining system with new ores, tools, crafting, everything, while making it feel vanilla to any player. I can't recommend this enough.

Awesome plugin! If you wish to create bunch of new items, do not even hesitate. This plugin is definitely worth it!

After using MmoItems for the better part of 6 months, I can confidently say this is an all-in-one solution for server owners. Offering the ability to not only create custom weapons, gear, consumables, etc, but also the ability to customize everything to fit any type of gamemode, this plugin has blown my mind time and time again. From Survival, to RPG servers, MmoItems is bound to bring your players an exciting and unique experience the same is has mine for quite some time. Don't pass this one up!!

Most things are done in a VERY easy to use GUI interface, making gear creation not only a breeze, but extremely fun! The support in the discord and even from the developer themselves has been amazing to top it all off!

The plugin gets better and better. Being able to cast MythicMobs skills from items now is an amazing ability!

The absolute best plugin I have ever used, config is simple but effective and the discord support is rapid and helpful.

This plugin is surprisingly useful. I had heard good things about it, but actually trying it has blown my mind. There are so many ways to customize your gear that it can send your mind spinning... Item set bonuses, custom stats, custom durabilities, modified damage types (like elemental damage, vanilla enchants, critical strike scalars and probabilities), the list can just go on and on.

Equally importantly is the support. I've had a few questions so far, and the development team has always responded in a reasonable time and has always been very receptive and friendly.

If you run an RPG server, this plugin should be a requirement. Coupled with MMOCore and Mythic Mobs, you can make something truly unique that breaks the boundaries of regular Minecraft.

I searched a long time for a custom rpg item plugin like this and a spend a lot of money in plugins, which are full of bugs and have huge confusing configs.

This plugin is amazing, no bugs, all stats are calculated correctly and the ingame gui make it as simple as possible to create amazing new and special items!

Great plugin, great possibilities, even supports skins from ItemsAdder.. Endless combinations..
Plugin, however, breaks randomly on 1.14.3 AND totally breaks when reloaded for example with plugman. It broke when anticheat kicked player with custom item in hand.. Be sure to make null checks in every ienumerator (timer), otherwise it will break entire plugin.

Now this version is very good I hope more options and continue with the updates is worth the money invested thank you

Some slight bugs with newer updates, but that's something expected for a plugin with so much customization, and developer responds to them very quickly. 5/5

The best item stats modifier available, I play since 2012 and have seen a lot of other plugins like ItemEdit, ItemLoreStats but this plugins tops them all!

You can create custom weapons with models and customise each aspect of the plugin (only the admin commands are hardcoded but this should not be a problem).

On top of that you can also nerf items and this is a unbelievable strong feature.

The GUI is super solid and really smooth, one of the best if not the best GUI experience I ever had.

This plugin is worth much more than it is sold for.

The dev is super nice and really helps you whenever he is online.

The plugin has no major bugs and is super stable.

Incredibly useful plugin for creating custom items! The in-game editor is very useful when you're new to the plugin as it allows you to easily create new custom items. The wiki is also very detailed and the author is very helpful. I plan to create a whole recipe book of new foods haha, among other things.

The only thing I wish this plugin had was support for custom items you can place. Other than that, very neat plugin! Definitely recommend!

An incredible plugin, and a certain must for any server--rpg or not--for item manipulation as it has quickly become a staple plugin for my server. The author is quick and understanding in response.

Also, I'm confused on how i'm able to create Identification Scrolls, because I want my players to be able to use scrolls instead of /mi identify.

As you can see, a great item solution for your RPG server. The author is so willing to accept all kinds of opinions and is diligent in fixing all kinds of problems. It's worth it! Don't hesitate to buy it!

The plugin offers an incredibly variety of options and functions. They work (almost all of the time), the configuration can be done ingame as far as creating new items goes and feels very intuitive with a responsive and pleasing design.

MMO-Items is NOT compatible with Elephantitems as my testings conclude. It will cause conflicting hp-stats with some items. The plugin runs without errors and very stable on its most recent version (1.13.2, spigot, even under heavy utilisation it hardly affects performance of the server)

Recommended for any RPG-styled server with the need for more customization than anywhere else (and I literarely mean anywhere else. Tested pretty much every premium item-creation resource on spigot...)

Great plugin with an intuitive interface and by its many functions has allowed me to improve my server by removing several other plugins. Amazing author, very active and knowledgeable and listening to his customers, amazing service; in short perfect I recommend it.

The amount of different items you can create is crazy: A lot of customization allow you to create very unique items (with often additional new features coming with updates) to make your server special.

Very good plugin but I slightly dissapointed. Daggers and spears for example have the same attack range - this is weird. Ideally theyre attack range must be changeable like a whips or presetted to a custom lenghts. Spears must hit target upon 6 blocks, lance - 7, dagger - 4 etc.

This plugin is beautiful. There is a lot of unique stats here and I cant wait to see the future of the abilities and custom stats and attacks.

1.Add armor sets system.The player wearing the same type of armor can gain extra abilities or effects.

I had bought this plugin quite a bit ago, almost a month now. Might I say, I am more than pleased with the quality of the plugin. Manual formatting using other plugins was a pain, and these other plugins didn't have nearly as many features. I highly recommend this to anyone in the RPG server development market, you won't be disappointed.

I've just bought this plugin and it's really good, everything is customizable and there's a lot of interesting spells. This plugin fits very well for my mmorpg server project.
But I'd like to know if it's possible to modify directly bow's damage through the "damage" section in the editor. I've tried and it seems the damage remain the same. Also, is it possible to give the bow critical strikes (like any other weapon) ?
Last question (and not really important) I'd like to raise is if it's possible to hide the custom recipes in the workbench (so I can create secret recipes) ?
