Three men got lost while travelling in a balloon. They saw someone below and they lowered the balloon and asked where they were. The man thought for a while and said, ‘You are in a balloon and you are flying.’ One of the three men said to the others, ‘This man is a mathematician’. The others asked, ‘How did you know?’ The man replied, ‘Firstly, he thought before he answered. Secondly, he gave exactly the right answer. Thirdly, his answer is useless.’
