Create block regeneration on your server with customizable delays, replace materials, and regions.

Version: 2.4.10
I stumbled across Ore Regenerator this morning when I saw it being recommended on Reddit, and at first, I was excited because it seemed to offer exactly the features I was looking for. I was even ready to buy the premium version. But after reading the reviews and seeing the developer’s responses, I decided to check out the free version first—only to ultimately decide not to install it at all.

Why?

Several reviews mention that support is practically non-existent, with responses limited to one message a day and no real solutions provided. Unfortunately, I have seen this pattern before with other unresponsive and/or indifferent developers, and this seems no different.

But what really sealed the deal was the developer’s response to the most recent review: "Glad to know I’ve been living rent-free in your head for the past 6 months <3"

Frankly, that might be the most unprofessional comment I have seen in my years on Spigot (and Bukkit, before Spigot was even a thing). As someone who has been part of this community for over a decade, I expect more from developers, especially those charging for premium resources.

If you are going to continue maintaining this plugin, I urge you to reconsider your approach—both in terms of providing actual support and maintaining a professional demeanor. Otherwise, you are only damaging your reputation and making it very hard for users to trust your work.

As a side note, I could not help but notice that the developer’s profile picture is from Roblox. It is almost poetic how perfectly that lines up with the immaturity reflected in their responses and lack of professionalism. While Minecraft often gets called a ‘kids’ game,’ it still has a thriving adult community that takes development seriously. Seeing a Roblox avatar attached to a developer behaving this way? Let’s just say it doesn’t inspire much confidence.

Another major red flag I noticed is that this plugin requires users to manually select a region where the regenerating ores are located. This, in my opinion, is a sign of a very inexperienced developer. A more competent dev would have implemented a more refined system that tracks and regenerates individual ore blocks dynamically, or at the very least made region selection optional. Relying on crude region selection suggests a lack of expertise in optimizing for performance and flexibility.

To make matters worse, I noticed another reviewer complained about extreme RAM usage caused by the plugin. While the author denied it, I am inclined to believe the reviewer. I have not installed Ore Regenerator myself—and why would I? I am not about to risk breaking things on my server by installing a poorly coded plugin from such an unprofessional developer. The combination of immature behavior, lack of technical sophistication, and potential performance issues makes this plugin a hard pass for me.

To top it all off, this plugin has a bizarre feature that lets you toggle whether non-ore blocks in the ore-regenerating region are breakable or not. This is utterly redundant. Any server using this plugin is almost certainly running WorldGuard (or a similar region protection plugin), which already allows for preventing block breaking in protected regions.

If the developer had a better grasp of plugin integration, they could have hooked directly into WorldGuard and added a far more useful feature—allowing ore blocks to be broken even in protected regions like spawn, based on the server owner's preference. Instead, they chose to reinvent the wheel with a poorly conceived, unnecessary feature that only highlights their lack of foresight and expertise.

I randomly saw someone recommend this plugin on Reddit and decided to check it out. Lo and behold, Ore Regenerator advertises the exact features I am looking for.

I was totally ready to pay for premium, but after looking at the reviews, I lost a lot of hope. Then, I saw there was a free version as well. I thought "maybe I will test out the free version and see for myself if this might still suit my purposes".

In the end, I decided not to even install this plugin on my server, and keep reading to find out why.

"Only answers 1 message per day on discord, and does not provide a solution." I have experiened this with other egotistical devs before. This definitely checks out. No, you're not that busy. You just won't put any work into your project. Be honest.

You replied to the last reviewer with "Glad to know I've been living rent free in your head for the past 6 months <3"

Are you 10 years old?

That might be the most unprofessional comment I have have ever seen from a Bukkit dev. I am appalled.

I have been on Spigot (and previously on Bukkit/Craftbukkit, before Spigot was a thing) for over a decade.

I urge you to take a huge step back and rethink where you are going with your "work" as a Spigot dev.

All you are doing by keeping the resource up, especially with a premium version, is ruining your reputation and being a complete fool.

I recommend you either fix your attitude, and fix your mess of a plugin, or take it down.

I just tried the new version and they still have not fixed the bugs. i even tried to join and ask support but thier discord isnt active

Version: 2.4.5
A few days ago, I complained to this dev that the plugin had a few issues, and what did he do? He banned me! He started claiming that my claims were false and that I left a fake review. When I DMed him about all this, asking him to invite me to his Discord server because the normal link wasn't working (since I'm banned), he ignored me.

And about those so-called "fake" claims:
1. This plugin uses an external plugin for drops, and without that, I can't use all the custom stuff I added from 1.20.6 in 1.21. So I said this plugin doesn't support 1.21, especially since custom drop support is supposed to be a feature.

2. When you have a pretty decent-sized server, the plugin uses a lot of RAM. That's why I said the plugin has memory leaks. I even showed the timing reports to the developer, but he keeps ignoring them.

3. Related to my ban on the server. I have no idea how he banned me. Maybe he did some inspect element trick to remove the message where he banned me in the logs, but yeah, I can't access the server.

Even though he keeps insulting me, I tried to DM him and request him to resolve these issues, but he is so rude and doesn't even care about what I say. This is my last time using his plugins. I'm done! Sorry

Hi again dec! You were never banned from anywhere, I already proved it in a screenshot on your other review. I even reached out to you personally after you left my server to chat and showed you that you weren't banned to which you agreed.

1. Custom drops has never been listed as a feature of this plugin. Supporting another plugin that also works for 1.21 is not a crime.

2. This plugin actually uses very minimal ram but that is irrelevant because you actually never once sent me a single timings report or even a screenshot of anything at all lol.

3. Again, you're not banned, I proved that you were never banned, and I even showed a screenshot from discord mobile but you say I used inspect element lmao.

Please use the review section for actual reviews instead of as a place to cry when you lose the battle you made up in your own head. <3

Check your console for errors, it's likely you have an old version of ItemsAdder and need to update so the ItemsAdder API features I use are present

Version: 2.3.6
