Alerts and new messages did not appear until you refreshed the page, Now the app pushes new alerts when the website does, without needing to refresh the page.

As for Push Notifications, md_5 told me that the only supported third party app or api was something called Tapatalk, I'm currently researching if they have an api I can hook into and push alerts through the app. Will keep you guys updated.
