What has Improved:

• The biggest change is that your portable furnaces will now keep smelting items even if you close their menu. This was the main goal!
• The action bar timer (showing smelting progress) also keeps running correctly when the menu is closed and properly syncs with the actual smelting.

How We Did It (Simply Put):

• We separated the furnace's "smelting brain"
• The "brain" now does all the smelting work in the background.
• The "menu" just shows you what the "brain" is up to.

What We're Still Working On:

• We're currently trying to fix an issue where items might disappear when you try to put them into the furnace menu slots.
• We made a small tweak to how quickly the menu tells the furnace's "brain" about new items you've added, hoping to stop them from vanishing.

We've also fixed several bugs that came up during these big changes.
