This Plugin is very usefull if you need custom Join and leave messages, like you want for different Groups. It´s very lightweight and you dont need programming knowledge. This free Plugin has only 3 groups.

joinannouncer test group - group is the number between 1 and 3

Every player gets the join and leave message from the messsage.yml of group1join and group1leave without using an extra command.
If you give a Player the permission "joinAnnouncer.2" he gets the join and leave message from group2join and the leave message from group2leave.
You can use the command /ja test 2 to get the message from "joinAnnouncer.2"
You want some colour? Add a Minecraft color code in front of your text
e.g. §aText - Green Text
