If your server has many different regions with different themes, you may want to spice up the textures more with resource packs. There used to be no way for different regions to have different resource packs, only one resource pack for an entire server. That changes right now.
RegionResourcePacks hooks into the
WorldGuard plugin and allows you to set a flag called
resource-pack for each region to different resource packs. You need to set the
resource-pack flag to the official download link for the resource pack, or you will need to
make one yourself. The __global__ region in WorldGuard can also be used.
WorldGuard region priority and inheritance is used to decide which resource pack will be used for a given location.
RegionResourcePacks has only been tested in Minecraft 1.16.5 with WorldGuard v7.0.4.
The plugin download comes with an EmptyResourcePack resource pack. This resource pack can be used with any region, but I would recommend putting it on the __global__ region so that when players are in no protected regions, they will reset back to either Minecraft classic textures, or whatever client-side resource pack they are using. EmptyResourcePack does need to be set up for a download (Follow the link in the previous paragraph for an example on how to do that).
Permissions:
There is only one permission for this plugin.
regionresourcepacks.change
: Allows players to change the flag resource-pack flag for a given region. Default given to ops.
Warning:
This plugin should only be used by people who know what they are doing and/or server admins. If everyone on a server is given the above permission, erroneous url's can be set. The plugin protects from incorrectly formatted url's, however, if a link is valid but points nowhere, player's clients may freeze when entering a region with an erroneous link.
