MOTD Features
- Random MOTDs – multiple lines/messages in config.yml, one is randomly chosen each ping.
- Dynamic cycling MOTD – rotates live between multiple MOTDs (so the server list text changes while client refreshes).
- Centering – automatically centers MOTD lines in the server list.
- Multi-line MOTD – supports both line 1 & line 2 in the server list.
- Legacy & color codes – (&a, &b, etc.).
- Hex color support (&#RRGGBB) – available on 1.16+.
- Gradient text using <gradient:#FF0000:#0000FF>text</gradient>.
- Rainbow text using <rainbow>text</rainbow>.
- Fallback for old versions – gracefully defaults to plain colors if hex/gradient not supported (1.8–1.15).
- Built-in placeholders:
- %player_name% → player username.
- %player_timezone% → player’s system timezone (approximated).
- %online% → number of online players.
- %max% → server max slots.
- %player_name% → player username.
- PlaceholderAPI support – hook into PlaceholderAPI if installed for extra placeholders.
- /servermotd reload – reloads the plugin’s config live without restart.
- Admin-only permission: servermotd.reload.
- Works on Minecraft versions 1.8 → 1.21.4.
- Uses ServerListPingEvent to set MOTDs properly (no deprecated setMotd).
- Tested with Spigot/Paper.
