Whilst some chat plugins exist to change that, none redesign the chat concept quite as thoroughly as we do.
ChatHandler+ doesn't just 'add a bit of colour' to your chat. We bring life.
This plugin provides you a full kit of tools to make your chat interactive, informative, and lively. This ranges from customisable interactive placeholders to in-built chat games that your entire server can benefit from!

ChatHandler+ is packed full of features to benefit you and your server's chat experience. We don't just redefine chat, we include plenty of add-ons to take your chats functionality to the next level.

DIFFERENT STYLES FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE
Not everyone benefits from the same style, you can customise your chat to show what really matters to the people it matters to.
You can define unlimited chat and /msg styles within the configuration files and assign them to players based on permission nodes.

INTERACTIVE PLACEHOLDERS
You can add fully interactive placeholders into your chat format.
This means the elements of your chat can run commands, show tooltips, and hyperlink to websites!

PLENTY OF ADD-ONS
ChatHandler+ includes a number of built in add-ons (see below for a list), to elevate your chat experience.
These add-ons range from improving the safety of your chat, to improving the fun and general activity of the chat.

COMPLETE CUSTOMIZABILITY, COMPLETE CONTROL
Almost everything within the plugin is customisable! And, if you have found something that you would like to customise, suggest it in our Discord Support Server!

HEX COLOR CODES:
You can include HEX colour codes within the config, message, and rewards files to style up the plugin however your server desires!
We use the simple &#000000 format to ensure that you can set it up with ease.


Currently, ChatHandler+ has 8x built-in add-ons, all customisable through their individual configuration file.
More add-ons will be added throughout future updates to meet servers needs.

CHAT GAMES: Adds 4x new games to your chat (Unscramble, Type, Missing Letters, and Click). These games highly benefit most servers as it rewards users for interacting with the chat and keeping the server active.

INSPECT: Allows users to showcase their items and inventory using the chat placeholders [і] and [inv] respectively. This is a great way to encourage chatting and potentially commerce to take place (in certain servers).

TIMED ANNOUNCEMENTS: Configure timed announcements to take place in your server. You can configure a single announcement, or allow an announcement to be picked randomly from a list of configured messages. You'll have complete control over how frequently these are sent.

URLs: Your in control over how URLs should be handled in your chat. Should they be deleted? Should they be hyperlinked? That's your call, and you can customise this down to the player by using our permission nodes.

PREFIXES: You can set up prefixes within the prefix addon file that can be accessed within your chat formatting and placeholders. These prefixes add life to a users message by symbolising their accomplishments and/or importance.

BLACKLISTED WORDS: You can configure words that are blacklisted from your chat. Your also in control of how these messages are handled.
The messages can be deleted as a whole, or the offending words can be censored to your specifications.

PLACEHOLDERS: You can configure custom placeholders that will automatically transfer any messages text from a to b.

PLACEHOLDER API: You can automatically translate any PAPI placeholder sent in chat. This can be restricted to a permission node (reccomended) so only certain users have this power.

Note: All add-ons have their own respective well-documented configuration file. Every placeholder can be disabled there if it does not match the needs of your server.



Player Commands

/msg [PlayerName] <Message>
This allows the user to private message another player.

/chatcolor
This allows the user to pick their chat color.
Individual colors require: chat.color.[ColorName]

/announcements
This allows the user to toggle the server announcements.
Requires: chat.announcements.toggle

/nick [Nickname]/clear
This allows the user to set their nickname
Requires: chat.nick

/chat help
This presents a help menu for all commands within the plugin.
Requires: chat.help

Administrator Commands

/chat reload
Generates (if necessary), and reloads all files within the plugin.
Requires: chat.reload

/chat addons
View a list of add-ons and whether they are enabled or disabled.
Requires: chat.addons

/nick [Player] [Nickname]/clear
Set a different players nickname
Requires: chat.nick.others

/chat peek
Toggle peeking. This allows the administrator to live view private messages.
Requires: chat.peek

/chat games start (GameType)
Allows you to start a chat game.
A GameType can optionally be included: Unscramble, Type, Missing, Click
Requires: chat.games.start


There are a number of permission nodes built in to the ChatHandler+ system to allow you to finely tune what your players can and can't do.
As some required permission nodes for commands have already been covered above, the below list will only include permission nodes present for other functionality.

chat.chatformat.[ChatFormatName]
Gives a user permission to use that chat format. The format active for a user is the highest weighted format that they have permission to.

chat.msgformat.[MsgFormatName]
Gives a user permission to use that /msg format. The format active for a user is the highest weighted format that they have permission to.

chat.inspect.item
Allows users to use the [і]/[item] placeholder in chat to show off the item that they are currently holding.

chat.inspect.inventory
Allows users to use the [inv]/[inventory] placeholder in chat to show off their entire inventory

chat.url.preventionbypass
Allows the user to bypass the URL prevention feature in chat (if enabled)

chat.url.hyperlink
Allows for a users URLs posted in chat to be hyperlinked (made clickable)

chat.prefix.[PrefixName]
Gives a user permission for a certain prefix. The prefix active for a user is the highest weighted prefix that they have permission to.

chat.blacklist.bypass
Gives a user the ability to bypass the word filter add-on (if enabled)

chat.placeholder.convert
Convert the users message automatically using any in-built chat placeholders

chat.papi.convert
Convert the users message automatically using any PAPI placeholders


ChatHandler+ utilises an easy-to-understand configuration system. We have two primary configuration files: one for primary settings, one for primary messages.
Additionally, there is an extra config file for each add-on within the plugin.
